I completely lose my shit to this song every time i hear it.The Crowes never let you down .When you have this track and "Sometimes Salvation " on the same record there is a danger of ODing on awesomeness.Mans gotta know his limitations............
Music's got to free your mind, let it go baby let it go-you never know-you never know-if your rhythm ever falls out of time you can bring it to me and I'll make it alright-yes I will!!!!
Saw them open for Lenny Kravitz when they were in there prime...put it this way...when the Black Crowes were done...a lot of people went home..the show was over.
This song is no less than an earthquake. AC/DC were headliners, the Black Crowes were the openers, and they outnumbered AC/DC so many times, due to the voice of Chris Robinson. I'll never forget that evening in Hamburg Bahrenfeld.
i remember waiting for a guns 'n' roses show to start in winter 1993 in portland maine and seeing on the billboard that the black crowes would be playing there in 2 weeks i just yelled FUCK!!!! didn't have the money to go, plus i lived at the north end of the state 300 miles away. if i knew i would have been at that show instead, i lived on this album. and to to top it off the guns show kinda sucked. this was the crowes best line up, marc ford was a breath of fresh air
@jbowmnt No.. they still have the two London shows which I'm seeing and the Amsterdam shows ahead, then they start their break. I hope it won't be a long one!
@ bannedagainfromutube... you are clueless....almost 46,000 views and not one dislike.... go back to your justin bieber fan page and make stupid comments on that site with all the other 12 year old girls.... if your the 1 out of 46,000 people ask yourself are we all wrong or are you just stupid... oh and by the way that question is rhetorical... your stupid
this band like one guy said are to fuccking good, jeff the netherlands' I need a ticket for blackcrowes,, paradiso, 18-18 of july A-dam jeff snellen email- snellenjeff@gmail.com,' blackcrowes one of best bands ever, Cheers , jeff
Jesus Christ. These guys are too good. I saw them back in Toronto in the early 90s. They were doing Thorn In My Pride, when some jackass threw a water bottle and it hit Chris Robinson in the face. The band stopped. Robinson gave the guy shit for a minute. And then he counted them in: 1 2 3 4, and they all started at the same place. They were just such good musicians.
There is something about the great rock bands that sets them apart. Black Crows has it in spades. Rock n Roll sensibility, Black Keys have it, Jack White has it. Kings of Leon have it. Love to see the legacy of this Cultural Revolution live on.
The Crowes in their pomp, shame the "choir" werent on this part of the tour.I just lose my shit to that song every time i hear it and Chris was really trying on that ,you could tell.Fucking brilliant band who never disapoint, every album is a killer.
Seeing them in July in Manchester before they have a Siesta for the full electric set and i would love this to be on the set list
This music is a fusion of traditional European inspired folk and country mixed with soulful African American gospel and slave music.
That such a beautiful thing can take birth from such suffering and deep conflict is why America is so beautiful. This music represents the triumph of the human spirit.
So many people bad talk America on You Tube. When I hear this music it reminds me of why I love my country and its incredible music and culture. There has never been anything like it and I'm damn proud!
Check out an English band called "Saint Jude" showing great promise .Latest release "soul on fire" its posted, also a brilliant cover of "im losing you" is also out there.
@Mii85 that ain't bad at all XD... I'm a huge fan of both of them! You gotta check out The Black Crowes and Gov't Mule playin' Sometime Salvation together. Just EPIC! Warren just rips it.
that late break down lost a little of that soulful sound to me without the black women background singers, especially when the climax of the song breaks back into the chorus at around 6:35
@pcburgh01 ... Luther is good, no question about that but I love Marc Ford. As a solo guitarist he's not that great but Marc Ford know how to en-light a band... Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals never sound has good as when Marc Ford was playing with them (live at the Hollywood bowl)... to compare Michael Ward sounds like triple shit...
If this song can't change the outlook of your day there is something wrong with you! The Crowes only continue to get better the more I listen to them.
Oh mate, this is just brilliant. I saw them on this tour in Brixton and I've told everyone I know about it. It was one of the best gigs I have ever seen. It like I jumped back in time seeing this footage. Agree with other comments...The Black Crowes were at their very best on THIS tour. It's perfect rock n roll. Thanks for posting this up here. It made my day.
Great Recording, this is the kind of thing they should release, The into the Fog and their first live release failed to capture whats great about this band. Still see them every opportunity I get but I miss this ^^^^ Band.
Marc Ford is the most underrated guitarist of my generation next to Rich. If you play at all you would realize how ridiculously talented these guys are.
@windtested I suggest giving Luther a listen ... "Oh, Sweet Nuthin" on the cabin fever dvd ... I don't think Marc can play that loose ... they both like them Les Pauls though ! don't they !
@peppernkk LUTHER ON "OH SWEET NUTHIN" is on the same level as Marc Ford......these 2 guitar players Marc & Luther played the best with Rich......Luther is now the man....
Now THAT is what a rock n roll band. This was THE best lineup The Black Crowes had. I know a lot of people like Luther Dickenson, but Luther couldn't hold Marc Ford's jock strap. As for Johnny Colt, he and Steve Gorman were an incredibly tight rhythm section. Hopefully when the Crowes release the 20th anniversary of Shake Your Money Maker, they pay tribute to Johnny Colt because he was a big part of this band.
This song actually has the ability to make me happy =D One of their best songs, expanded with the addition of some nice improvised guitar solos which cannot be found on the album! Hell, this live version might even be better than the album version (yes, that is pretty unique, but not for the Black Crowes)! The true spirtit of a jam band!
@TheMegaCorax I agree, no matter how bad I feel, a dose of My Morning Song will put me on a positive note. Especially the new version on Croweology...
Great song! Ok so years ago an old girlfriend bought me a vhs with a crowes concert on it. In the breakdown and build up of my morning song chris says "1 thats you, 2 thats me" Over and over and at the height he says "and 3 is we" Great version. Does anyone know what concert this was and is it available?
