Can anyone tell me the name of he record where this song appears...the original record...not looking for a great hits cd..I wanna know the record where this song was firstly released..my address is:
This was near the end of when remixes still had some semblance of the songs they originally were mixed from. I'm not saying that I want nothing more than a little instrumental added in, but what they do to songs nowadays is like raping a nun. It's just wrong.
I agree with the last 2 comments. Heart Like A Wheel was also amazing and should have been a massive hit. Thompson Twins kept going strong with Queer, and Human League's "Secrets" is Gold. Bucks Fizz "Heart of Stone" is the same, listen and weep!
Yeah, when this came out, I had to buy the vinyl 12" version. I've only played my records to record on cassette...I'll have to get those out..of course no need to thx to YouTube!
Thank you posting this hot azz mix! I think the reason that this doesn't appear on any of their compilations is because this was not released on Arista records like the rest of their hits. Instead this was released on Warner.
@Corei7Maniac I'm nearly sure it is the last song made by thomson t. I'd never seen it before it is really fantastic. I also remeber a disco version of "hold me now" but I'm not able to find it.

Anyway this is not the original version but it is so cute.
@cristhian242 My guess is because this song was released in 1990, I think, subsequent to their first greatest hits collection, which if I'm not mistaken, was 1988. Since '90, unfortunately, I don't think they had enough material for a second greatest hits cd. Too bad, b/c they're really one of my all-time favorite bands.
Love this but the Sugar Hpuse mix is excellent! It's a groover and a shaker! When they became Babble, they were even better!

This track wasn't released on Arista, so it's not included with many of their compilations.

@cristhian242 It's because this song was released when they moved to Warner Bros. Arista has the main bulk of their songs.

@cristhian242 It's probably a rights issue. By the time this album came out, they weren't on Arista Records anymore. They were on Warner Brothers.

In my opinion, this is one of the best singles the Thompson Twins ever released. I like the 7" version better, though.
If this had been released a few years earlier, this would have been a huge hit. Instead it only reached #28 in the States.

excelart1, so true, this song shared the same fate as 'Heart Like A wheel' by Human legue
ralan40 2 years ago
IAgreed, I loved Heart Like a Wheel by Human League, but I never once heard it on the radio. What a shame.

@excelart1 yep, I loved that record by the HL, but Big Trash was 1989, just before the HL record came out in 1990 or so
