i am after quality, i have a jl 1000/1 v2 amp, going to hook a jl 13w7s to it. but i am not sure what speakers to get, i am getting custom door cards made so i can get two 6.5s in and a tweeter, so that is 4 speakers and two tweeters, can you recomend me any good componet speakers and a amp to run them off.
@jitjoseph i go to a site called millionbuyDOTcom and it has some pretty good prices actually cheaper than the sonic. the ones i want (kicker ds650.2) and the site you go to was out of stock the price was higher. you should check it out and see how much those were. could have over paid.
Do these speakers sound okay without an external amp? I'm running an alpine 9886 HU and might get an amp in the future, but not right away. Will these provide an upgrade over stock speakers even w/o an amp?
Ya they will defenently give u an improvement over stock especially in my car. I had 15 watt paper made in mexico speakers lol. One of the best component systems for the price
Oh alright, cause on a forum somebody told me since the PPI's are low sensitivity, they require more power to sound good. As long as they're better than stock I can live with it for a while.
Did you had an apileptic attack when recording this? Just get 4-5 second static shot, move camera, another one, move to another position again... Got it? Not that reckless recording...
They sound great on this vid, but I'm still torn between them and the Soundstream TRC.6N? They might sound better but I think the Soundstreams will get louder. The Soundstreams seem to be built to keep up with a lot bass.
Ah ok well i have a pair and 4 fosgate power 6x9s running off a kicker zx650.4 and they sound real good. I would imagine with a sundown amp tho they will sound amazing
How they sound and how much power you sending threw them? Sound damn good considering this a vid, on Youtube, prob even better in person. Im thinking about grabbing a set of these.
Ill tell u now dont think twice about grabbing a pair of these i have them in my car and now i just yesterday built some bookself boxes for them and wow was i surprised with the amount of bass they put out. I think im running about 90 watts in this vid and the same in my room. Where are u gonna buy it at? cuz i might know a cheaper place to get em

They look like the last of the a/d/s speakers that were made. VERY good equipment. PPI put their name on the design, but its still a/d/s.

Prob on ebay, I see Sonicelectronix has them for $135 shipped, but I also notice millonbuy on ebay has them for $119 shipped.
I got a Sundown Audio 125.2 for power, either going to get another 125.2 and bi amp the set, or buy (2) comps and just run them off the Sundown.

do you have to hook up an amp to your components? well the 6.5 speaker or whatever that is.
