  • pt3 ? were is it.?

  • What people dont understand is yes German had the best tanks and yes they did beat the allies at times when thh odds were 20 to 1 in the allies favor but war is about much more than tanks and planes. War is about who has the best foriegn office to draw in allies to your side and the best inteilignce to break codes and turn agents in the feild and agent provocateurs and most impotant is raw materiel . OIL. Not to say a 100 other things like war production and mobilsing the whole population 100%.

  • ой ой мы время тянули .а вы пендосы сними договоривались а разделе мира .уроды бля в жопиноги

  • Ulækkert kommunist svin, ill smelling communist svine!!! that molotov, and his government. Not much human in them.. If german did not do this first (Barbarossa) They would have hit us first here in western Europe. BEWARE of THAT please.

  • Why must Motherland and Fatherland fight? XD

  • @SoraTheHappyEmo

because the Motherland fucks the hell out of Fatherland in the end and gives birth to DDR.

  • i realy dont blame german men unless they enjoy war then screw them im saying ones that didnt want the war

  • Can anyone name the generals in at 2:02?

  • hitlers biggest mistake was this operation

  • @ruudjuh16 it was a do or die, the russians take forever to mobilize, and russia WAS planning to expand, just look at the finland russian war

  • @ruudjuh16

Wish i could go back and tell him.

Or better yet, get him to even believe me.

  • Greece was far from from an easy victory-Hitler actually praised the Greek army in the Reichstag in 1941

  • romania was not annexed by Germany, but a treaty was signed economic and military that the German army is not so busy breaking in romania i'm romanian

  • nation can turn to a doom nation u can c people in germans supporting hitler idealism... they dont care how many millions will be killed in this war...u can dny the bible if u dont read bible....

  • @inewkiller ??? they didt not know that many millions were gonna be killed, after france they thougt that the war was over and the world would turn to peace again-

  • i havent seen any of your facts, you really seem to have a lot of those, how come you dont post em?.

How about you TRY to post one of your facts, and i just tell you why they are bs`? :)

I dont agree in both of your points, because you didnt say when that was. So youve only seem to got half-knowledge.

  • I seriously hope English is not your first language.

  • its not, have you got any problems with that you arrogant fucker?

  • @2ab6 One of those to whom only the squalid sounds strong.

  • @2ab6 How about this: In WWII Germany artillery production never got past 1/4th that of german production in WWI. So inefficient were the Nazis.

  • Haha, you cant compare ww1 with ww2 XD

    WW1 was a trench war, WW2 was a BLITZKRIEG

  • @2ab6 And in both, artillery shells were needed. Similar processes were used in both wars, just in WWI the Germans were concerned with productivity. In WWII they were interested in getting kickbacks to top level Nazis.

  • @2ab6 And in both, artillery shells were needed. Similar processes were used in both wars, just in WWI the Germans were concerned with productivity. In WWII they were interested in getting kickbacks to top level Nazis.

  • @DonMeaker

Im sorry, but I happen to know more about my country than some American or whatever you are, claiming to know about my countrys history.

Kickbacks, what kickbacks, never heard about any due to the great influence. Did you make that up?

  • @2ab6 Well, we can start with Dr Porsche, who didn't get to make the Tiger, but had a consolation contract for the "Elephant" aka Ferdinand, which was a complete waste of time (no machine gun). Aircraft contracts were heavily politically influenced, with Heinkel He 178 - Pioneering first aircraft to fly under turbojet power, 27 August 1939. andHeinkel He 280 - World's first jet fighter, cancelled in favour of Me 262.

  • germany is smaller than the smallest state in the US :) notice something?

They had Trucks? uuuuuhhhhh. only the russians didnt. Everything what you say is bs from a 16 year old internet einstein.

  • Hey dude, counter my points with some cold, hard facts why don't you? And why not try to use some proper grammar and politeness while you are at it. Russian industrial capacity was superior to both the British and the Germans. Go to the library and check it out. Tell me if I am lying.

  • dude, only people, that want to get the intellectual status go to the libary nowdays, you little showoff ;)

How about a digital libary :)??

  • Is now the time when you actually post something constructive? Are you going to actually challenge any of my points or not? How about you contribute to the discussion here. I'll be waiting.

  • @maddingo12

i didnt notice any factual points. I dont want to act as a teacher, but please inform yourself before posting stuff like that. Dont try to make me look ignrant.

  • So, what don't you agree with? That the German Army relied primarily on horses to pull their guns and equipment? That the Russians had a superior industrial capacity? Its nice to have an opinion. Too bad yours is not backed up by historical academic records. Maybe I could give you a reading list? I can tell why you don't like librairies. You don't want to ruin the little fantasy world that you have built around Nazi Germany.

  • @2ab6 Not a lot of original documents in digital documents. If that is what you want, try Wikipedia...(LOL)

  • try it yourself, you seem to need that.

  • The Russians deserve all the pain the agony they can get.

  • I don't see Germany taking out the USSR, even without the USA formally entering into the conflict. Russia's manpower, resources and land mass is just too much. Blitzkrieg was useless against the Soviets because they had the manpower to replace those early losses. Germany was not prepared for a prolonged war. Germany was a paper tiger. They were like the bully who uses a sucker punch to take someone out.

  • A paper tiger? this paper tiger fought against the whole world for 6 yrs.I wouldnt like to have seen the canadian army fight against the Germans on their own.

  • Yeah, why don't you counter my arguments with some cold, hard facts there boyo? Speaking of Canadians, the Germans called Canadian soldiers the "SS" of the Allies. Also, why did Germany position itself to fight the entire world? WOW! That Hitler is a real political genius! YEAH! Let's invade Russia *AND* declare war on America in the same year! What a fucking genius! Your right Jimmypaul, your so fucking right. Hitler is the best leader-commander-guru of all time!

  • I was talking about the german army not Hitler. They were the best army in the world.Man for man wepon for weapon they were best equipped and thats a hard cold fact whether you wanna hear it or not.

  • They were maybe best army because they were mobilized - about 2,500,000 soldiers and best equipped because they was planing WWII. If any other country : Poland, Russia or France Do the same like Hitler u also can say, ooo they were best army too. But we cant say the Hitler's army were best training, thats impossible to compare. In history we know the moments when allies forces beat nazis though smaller size.

  • There is a lot of Nazi romanticism on here. People think the Wehrmacht was this super-modern army. It was not. The vast bulk of the German army was not even motorized or mechanized. Most German soldiers had to use bicycles or walk on foot. The Germans had to bring a few hundred thousand horses with them in their invasion of Russia to tow their anti-tank guns and artillery pieces. Is this a modern army?

  • and i suppose you are american or british and think they had modern forces? :)

  • I'm Canadian actually, and yes, the American army was the most modern of WW2. They had trucks, armored troop carriers and halftracks coming out of their asses. GIs didn't have to walk hundreds of miles or rely on pack mules and horses to move their artillery and anti-tank guns. The Germans had horrible logistics as well compared to the Americans. You can't hate the Americans all you want but they built up a superb fighting force in just a few months whereas Germany had years to build up theirs.

  • YOu have no idea of what you are talking! Most of your comments are incorrect! Why am I not surprized!

  • Comment removed

  • did you ever heard about tigers, panthers.. watch some movies about how they dealt with shermans...

did you heard about me 262??

    fw190??

german could beat everyone 1vs 1..

    look some movies about v1,v2...

  • Yes but then there were Tiger II and Löwe and Maus. now all german tanks from Panther could beat any tank from the allies or soviet.

  • @Baurles The Tiger was a great tank, if it broke down in the right place. Too bad it took 45 seconds for the Tiger to traverse its turret, compared to 15 seconds for the Sherman. In the Ardennes offensive, the Wehrmacht led with the Pzkw IV, and told the Tigers to try to keep up.

  • Thta speaks against the official facts u dumbass.

  • @erdutos true dat! The germans were EXTREMELY organized and succifienct and even used coal as a substitute for oil! It supplied 85% of fuel by 1945 in germany.

  • @erdutos The Germans were unstoppable, they would've won if they hadn't attacked Russia.

  • @thecomando Acually he nearley did win this operation it is said if he did not get caught up in The Balklands with Yougoslavia and Greece he could have launched Barrbarosa on its original date in March.

As Leningrad was starved they where on the outskirts of Moscow Ukraine Beluruss Baltic states had fallen stalin was on the verge of peace in fact on the acuall day of Invasion Stalin ran out of the Kermlin in a state of panic shouting " Lenins Union is undone" now think what could have ..

  • @thecomando happened if they did not get caught up in the winter and time was on there side.

  • @thebritish25 Very true indeed, but the fact that he did not wait until Spring '44is the part that screwed him over.

  • @thecomando Well by then it whould have been to late not only whould to allies have landed ( supposing he did not despose of them).

But from the amount of equipment being built in factories in the Ukraine etc and plans found by the germans it is belived that Stalin had a knife behind his back too.

  • @thebritish25 Now that's something i didn't know ... I need to brush up on my Stalinist USSR history a bit ...

  • @thecomando Stalin was a very strange parinoid character he had most of his own officers killed in the Great purgess of 37 38.

He murdered all Polish Officers and threw them in a the forest at Katyn in 40 and he lead the Allies on that they where still alive till after the war.

he refussed to let thousands of his own troops abbandon Kiev

the Germans offered to give him back his son who was captured (at Karkov I thin

    k) he turned them down and he died with an MG belt in his back trying to .

  • @thebritish25 Yes, Stalin refused to do anything special to release his captured son... but that's what he said about this: "Every soviet soldier is my son!"

Who of western leaders could ever do the same??

  • @georgysb As in sending thousands of his sons to be cut off in Kiev Sevestapol Leningrad to charge into Stalingrad Karkov and Moscow Smolensk Minsk in a dessperate attempt to save his dictatorship yes what western leader whould do that.

And you do know that Stalin despised Yakov as one he blamed him for the death of his first wife in which he said " With her died so did any human feeling in him" Stalin called Yakov " A mere cobler" Stalin the man who cared so much about his sons he ran away

  • @georgysb as he hid away in Samara he sent thousands of Men Women and Children to fight the facist invasion hummm so alot like the other two Hitler and Musolini but then they where all dictators

The Soviets where brave and I salute them.

Stalin was a cretin waste of space who turned the Socalist ideal into a totalitarian dictatorship what was the difference bettween Nazi Germany and the USSR just one admited they had one leader the other did not and belived they ruled them sleves.

  • @georgysb And finaly as I did say in an earlier comment stalin had three kids

First Son Yakov who he despised

Second Son Vasily who he thought of as an Idiot

First Daughter Svetlana which he loved and she ran to American.

When stalin and his wife where arguing Yakov shot him self but he survived Did stalin rush to his aid NO

He just laughed and said " He cant even shoot straight"

what kind of loving father is that ??

  • @thebritish25 ha ha... Stalin had such a great sence of humor! I didn't even know about that, thanx!)))

  • @thecomando clime over an electric fence

  • @thecomando you have a lot of books to read and uncover reality of stalin(Koba) one big labor camp CCCP

  • @erdutos lol Yugoslavian partisans were always outnumbered by the germans and their auxiliaries 5-10 to 1. still, partisans kicked their ass. now stfu noob

  • @erdutos Thats right, but they couldn't win against Russia AND America in this time. They hadn't got enough manpower for this big enemies. If they had 5 million young and strong soldiers more, they had the best cards to win !

  • @erdutos No, they didn't even manage to enter Moscow or Leningrad.

Also, they are nothing against the US industry.

  • You are right. BritishandFrench tanks in 1940 were superior to the German tanks as well. The Luftwaffe took horrible losses over the air in FranceThe blitzkrieg in France of 1940 was very close. Hitler benefited from the quick capitulation of the French. Had the French had a leader and a High Command with more balls who wanted to go on fighting, France could of been a tougher battle for the Germans. But instead the French shat their pants after the first major German breakthrough in their lines.

  • I know the canadians were good soldiers but any 1 country could not beat the germans on their a country with a pop of 80 million.Germany isnt fuckin Iraq.

  • I don't understand what you are trying to say. Iraq seems to be looking really good right now. The British and Americans have been occupying the country for almost a decade now and the resistance is still fighting over there. Two modern armies can't do shit against guys with ak-47s, pipe bombs and crap soviet-era RPGs.

  • glory polish

  • am a Pole, and the Soviets have it as an attack on my homeland in 1939, brute, well the Germans attacked them, they dig a little chciaz but I personally would they (the Germans and Russians) slew. GLORY POLISH

  • US Sherman Tanks were never meant to fight tank on tank. We still defeated the German Panzers because you could build 6 or 7 Shermans for the price of a single Panzer. Quantity is a Quality in and of itself. T34 was, dollar for dollar, pound for pound, the greatest tank of WW2. German's building their "King Tigers" did themselves more harm than good. Overpriced, over engineered, too complex. King Tiger was a huge waste of resources and nothing more than high value targets...

  • The Germans only knocked out as many enemy tanks as they did because they built panthers, tigers and king tigers. All were over-engineered yet rushed and underdeveloped, but when they worked, they dominated the battlefield.

If the Germans had built, say, Panzer Mk.4's, for which 3 could be built for every tiger, then they would have lost the war quicker. They needed the panthers and tigers and king tigers.

  • After studying WW2 for my entire life I don't really disagree with you. I kinda think we're both right. The Germans were screwed either way they chose to ration their limited resources...

  • They had lost the war by winter of 1941. Limited resources aren't a problem of blitzkrieg, what matters is two fundamental things. First, that you have what limited resources you have focused, en mass, in the right place, and second, that you never give the enemy a chance to regroup and react to the initial attack.

When winter came in 1941, the Germans had let the enemy regroup and react. Without Blitzkrieg, the German army was nothing, and they didn't have it anymore after '41.

  • Dayvelsh- Yeah, Germans definitely bit off more than they could chew. The Wehremacht WAS a great army in 1940 but they fell victim to what many great armies do; They believed their own propaganda and were slow to recognize reality.

  • I don't know, from '39-'41 the German army could have destroyed any nation if they were close enough to them, even the USA would have fallen victim if they'd been neighbours.

They did believe their own propaganda, but for good reason I think. Several mistakes by Hitler interfering in strategic planning and the '41 winter undid them.

Fighting "to the last" in Stalingrad + attacking at Kursk were examples of Hitler's ineptness at strategic planning, and tipped WWII against them even further.

  • @randy95023

If they just bloody armor on gas tanks it would be much better.

  • not neccesarily my friend..you did make sense when you mentioned the fact that the germans wasted too much of their economy and resources on magnificent tanks such as the panther and tigers, however, in a battle once, when the panzer diviions retreate from russia in 1943, 3 tigers were able to knock out 54 russian tanks, including several t-34s..and one tiger had the capability of destroying 20-30 shermans on the battle field without being destroyed

  • They say that Steven Spielberg is one of the best directors in the world even though he can only direct "god bless the america" movies and germans are always pictured as the devil himself.

"saving private ryan" is the shittiest warmovie ever.

Americans never commit warcrimes in Spielberg movies.

    fucking propaganda.

  • i agree

speilberg is jew you know that is why he makes the germans look like the devil

  • ach ja, when you loose the war you are the devil, when you are the winner you are the hero (Hitler,1945-04-29 very soon milllions will condamne me)

  • @Maverick110290 Actually, you were inattentive. In the movie, the translator shot "Steamboat Willie" after he was captured, committing a war crime. Hollywood loves to paint US soldiers as war criminals.

  • No they dont? Who the hell are you? Show me one of those WW2 movies were americans look like war criminals XD

  • @2ab6 Well, there is the recent one with Brad Pitt. Inglorious Bastards...

Rather like someone read about Dirlewanger, and invented a character like him, but made him an American.

If you would like to broaden your desire for war criminals to the British try the "Bridge over River Qwai" but the book author invented the Alex Guiness role, a British character based on Vichy French collaborators. The actual British colonel was steadfast in his resistance.

  • @Maverick110290 Yes they did commit in Saving private Ryan when the american soldiers took the beach the killed two germans unarmed that were surrending to two american soldiers. And in the miniserie band of brothers a American officer killed whith his Thompson a group of four or five germans prisioners that surrended in Normandy.

  • @Maverick110290 i guess you missed the part at the end of Private Ryan where the squirrely translator shot a prisoner. Of course the SS wouldn't recognize that as a war crime, only business as usual...Perhaps you missed the "I washed my hands for dinner" part?

  • @DonMeaker

    Jeez... Whats wrong with you?

The steamboat willie guy was spared by the americans earlier in the movie and then he comes back in the end of the movie and stabs the americans in the back by lethally injuring their captain... The germans were made to look deceitful slimes and therefore killing an unarmed gerry wouldn´t seem like a warcrime.

I wouldn´t consider killing a POW a warcrime because you just can´t turn off the hate even when the other guy throws down his arms.

  • @Maverick110290 Actually, the Steamboat Willie character did his duty. Part of the point was that the little squirrely translator was too scared to do his job, providing ammunition to his buddies, but was up to the task of murdering a prisoner. The Captain had intervened to prevent the men from murdering Steamboat Willie earlier, where again, SW character was doing his duty. The Captain also did his duty.

  • @DonMeaker

By warcrimes I mean the killing of innocent civilians

  • @Maverick110290 Ah, see, that can be a warcrime, but may also not be a war crime. Words have meanings. You can't be like humpty dumpty in Alice in Wonderland, for whom a word meant what ever they wanted. Well, you can, but the rest of the world looks at that as a form of insanity...

  • Learn to read.

German tanks were and still are the best in the world.

Read the properties of the tanks before writing, redneck.

  • la asian army use 14.7 mm anti tank rifles

  • Were and still are? T-34? T-90? Don't tell me Leopard 2 is the best soviet arsenal owns all

  • T-34 swarmed the german tanks.

T-34 were destroyed§ in masses for every destroyed german tank.

T-90 model has been compared to Leopard 2 and deemed inferior.

Leopard 2 can destroy T-90 before it reaches firing range.

  • @jinshiksung

American ranks were even bigger joke....

  • @LeChar1989

    America didn't have army

  • joshvn715 --- AT leats USA conquered KOSOVO the way Germans did , and USA is using German style propaganda , thre times repeated lie becomes the truth ...

  • aviomaster U.S can conquer Kosovans but is not concerned about establishing A SOCIALIST, COLONIAL EMPIRE but an empire of global financial dominance using whatever world institutions to strip nation states of sovereignty and conform them into avenues for American financial gains.

America has AN INVISIBLE EMPIRE and everyone bonded to us because of the MONEY,

Nationalism is just ANOTHER WAY for the U.S to divide and conquer.

  • what is at 9:38? arty shell?

  • AkApLr --- MAkes a lot of sense ,, Check the facts first ...

  • -- This is definteley what USA is doing NOW ... Look at this report , How Germany conquered states ,,, USA is on the same path ,,,,

  • hilarious :D great imgagination

seriously... u don't really mean what u say there cause its a bunch of bullshit. doesn't even make any sense.

  • aviomaster U.S doesn't need to use colonial power or military might to prop up satellite states, they simply have to dominate and regulate their financial infrastructures and sociological matters. That is the new means of establishing empires.

U.S doesn't CONQUER the way Germany did but, they do conquer and now abandon the Poles, Czechs' ambitions for missile defense versus Russia. With them crying to Mother America loll, it is all these weak nations seeking sovereignty that spurn world wars

  • i agree with you, but, they had to make war in yugoslavia, and bomb, destroy physicaly our economy,so when there is no alternative they attack anyways, and who is resisting time and time again?

    greetings from serbia :)

  • Cool nice hearing from Serbia :D, yugoslavia is the perfect case how nationalism is just used to divide and conquer. Yugoslavia was a useful ally vs. the Soviet Union and then we disposed of the nation to open newer opportunities.

The world has to see past differences and maintain SOVEREIGNTY of its state, and collapsing internally. Ethnic battles always corrupt democracy and the U.S used these tensions to have nations be bonded TO AMERICA and not their fellow countrymen.

  • with out doubt the best war doc ever made world at war.

  • -- USA politicians see Hitler as a Great HERO of 20 th century , and they are tryiong to copy himn in great detail ... Great job USA .. WHEN you compare ww-II and see a situation in the world now , VERY similar -- WW-III is on the way.

  • You're mostly wrong, but actually some are. Just check out the 'C Street Mafia.'

  • You're a idiot.

  • so absurd your comment, it's actually funny. We'd be lucky to have Hitler over O'bama, at least he'd be getting the US work! LOL Yes Hitler, great politician, that's what they do, but make horrid Generals lol

  • Comment removed

  • while the t 34 was huge following the failed attack on Moscow, the KV tank played a major role in slowing down Germany long enough for the famous Russian winter to show up.

  • Salin only trusted one man in his life,

too bad that one man was Hitler... that doublecrosser.

  • In any case, the german offensive should have been a complete victory before winter. The fist snow on german troops while the ussr was still alive meant that germany lost the war.

  • on thing is for sure ...that pig hitler is now DEAD and that nazi are all dust now

  • russians maybe had big army and will to fight, kill AND even tactical advantage of teritory so winter, mountains and staf but there generals and comanders were dum

  • man ,lern mal englisch du affe

  • Hitler could have won Russia Easily,if he wasn't sick at that time,it was really hot and gave the order to invade both Stalingrad and oils parts, dividing his troups! instead of concentrating all the units to Moscow. The russians were very weak, with bad materials and orders! Hitler underestimated the russian winter and it was finished.I don't like russians, they are corrupted people.

  • What do you mean by "corrupted"? Thats insulting.

  • you are totally right, russia is weak, what defeated the germans is the terrible winter russia has and the crazy number or manpower they had.

  • Sorry, ran out of space^^-

About the quantity. U can't deny that fact. Reports from the eastern front show a clear picture of sometimes unarmed drunk Sovjet troops approching German positions (possibly to dry out their ammution).

  • The point with the production is that there are more things to concern than quantity. The Germans established a standard even late in the war by bot using amunition that was below these standards for example. The Sovjets (not Russians btw) on the other hand used everything they could possibly produce (don't forget the Allies' [US] help either). Another thing has allready been pointed out: Too compley machinery that needed a huge quantity of reserve materials. Last but not least the numbers.

  • Hitler was not supposed to attack Serbia.

For that it is not attacked Serbia, Russia would be won because the planned attack performed in early April, but has not performed since the attack Serbia, and sent a large army in Serbia, and the attack was only started 22 June it was too late and that it brought the beginning of April Russia won the winters before, remember Hitler was not won because in Russia has begun a great winter in December and the German army was a few kilometers near Moscow.

  • LOL.

So...it was Serbia who saved Russia?)) You must compete with US, GB and russian winter then (another "savers"). Ok, Hitler didn't attack in april cause of Serbia. But are you sure that germans would capture Moscow? I really doubt about that. Remember Stalingrad? This city fighting is very bloody. Compare Moscow and Stalingrad. Moscow is many times larger! It isn't easy to capture!

Even if germans would capture Moscow it would cost them too big price.

  • Moscow is not a target. If Stalingrad falls this is big psyhical win for germans and no one can stop germas t o capture the oil fields, this is a big problem for them - no oil for tanks.

  • then how come all the german generals said to capture moscow but only hitler wanted stalingrad and the caucasus??

The generals said that if we take Moscow the country will fall and they will get the oil anyways but hitler had to have things his way, so your wrong moscow was a target for everybody just not Hitler

  • The history is written by the winners, right?

I`ll said it again, i hope you understand:

If Stalingrad falls, this is a big advantage to germans, psy advantage. And see where is the Moscow, where is the Stalingrad, then see where is the oil fields... yes at the road to oil fields is the Stalingrad!

  • "And see where is the Moscow, where is the Stalingrad" What what do you mean where it (THE) Moscow, where is (THE) Stalingrad???

advantage yes but if they had taken Moscow they would probobly have won and gotten the oil anyways, thats what his generals wanted who knew much more about stategy and war then Hitler

  • Are you sure that germans had such a power to capture Moscow? To assault Moscow was suicide for germans. It was only one way for them - to surround the city and wait for it's surrender. For surrounding such a largest city enormous forces were needed. Consequently - scattering of forces, huge advantages for Soviets for attack. Blockade would take mounths if not years (see Leningrade). And it was the harshest winter.... Poor germans in any case.

  • It may sound crazy but....Hitler was right! After the german defeat in Moscow Battle Stalin has accumulated enormous forces from all over the front under the Moscow to defend it. He waited for the next german attack in spite his generals said another.

That's why germans were so successfull in the south in 42 - cause main russian forces were defending Moscow.

If germans would attack Moscow-line again it would end in their defeat far worse than Stalingrad.

  • well you know they had 3 army groups they got stuck in Leningrad, but the germans dominated in the summer time they only got stuck before moscow because of the winter then the soviets pushed them back abit, and then they were succesfull again in the summer pushing on Stalingrad.

  • Who knows if they had taken moscow they were alot closer to moscow then they were to stalingrad, and they always had success during the summers and they pushed far through russia torwards stalingrand in that summer what if they had focused on moscow instead.

  • >> GB was saver

    ololo

  • It wasn't just Russia........ it was the entire Soviet Union.

  • Have any of you read the brilliant book "In Deadly Combat: A German Soldier's Memoir of the Eastern Front" by Gottlob Bidermann? Sold by Amazon.

Bidermann's account debunks the myth of a highly mechanized German army that rolled over weaker opponents with impunity. In fact the German were as dependent on horses as Napoleons Grande Armée had been in 1812. Also the T-34 was more powerful then the Panzer IV. Finally - the Soviet had snipers.

    Read the book. Highly recommended.

  • The German soldiers were simply far more superior...that's what you get when mixing discipline, training and nacional fanatism...they were gods of the battlefield...

  • They were superior for a while only.

By 1943 Russians learned how to fight from Germans and eventually outperformed them.

Germans failed to learn lessons from Russians, they could not switch from tactics they used in France and Poland and adjust to a different type of war.

  • I'm not defending the Germans, but the average German soldier was indeed superior to the average Russian. The tide only turned because the German military was overextended, I mean, think about it. Germany essentially carried the war in Europe on it's back alone. Eventually the military's of England, Canada, Australia, the USSR, The United States, and so on, focused on destroying Germany. There were many reasons for German defeat, but a big one was that they were simply outnumbered.

  • By the time European war theater was opened Russians already were storming into East Prussia.

For the 4 years before Western front was opened Russians managed to fight against united armies of Germany, Austria, Romania, Italy, Hungary, Lorraine, Latvia, Finland, Spain and 6-7 more Axis countries.

1941 -1944 Russia was fighting against the all unified axis forces just by itself. (Not just against Germany)

  • Very good point. However, it is common knowledge that the best soldiers fighting on the Eastern front, with the best equipment and training, were German. The Romanians and Italians were charged with defending German flanks, and they couldn't even do that too well. The main struggle was between Germany and Russia, though yes, Germany had allies and allied troops fighting alongside their armies in the east.

  • I've read a lot on the eastern front but my memory is pretty awful when it comes to remembering names, dates, numbers, anything. I think I have the basic premise of the situation down though.

  • Russia didn't fought by it's self against axis forces.Soviet union isn't only Russia.

it was Belarus Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, Khazakstan , Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgystan...fuckingstan etc.

Besides, Germany's allies contributed with few troops.

After germans, romanians were most of the axis troops in USSR, about half a million.

  • Russia fought by itself people of Belarus, Ukraine and Stalin's Georgia ALL FOUGHT because of Russia. Russia has always and WILL ALWAYS WANT to bind all of Eastern Europe to their will.

  • Hitler's biggest mistake of WW2 was attacking Yugoslavia and Serbia..minor countries..but yet Hitler lost 5 crucial months..he attacked Russia too late and he was beaten 1st of all by the Russian winter..just like Napoleon

  • At first Yugoslavia would become an allice to the axis powers, but then Yugoslavia got coup.

  • I think his biggest mistake was attacking russia all together.

  • Serbia didn't exist at the time...Yugoslavia was a single country divided into banovinas in a centralistic way...there was no Croatia or Sebia or any other entity

  • u better rephrase that. Because Serbia DID exist before Yugoslavia existed... But after World War 2 Serbia merged with Croatia and Slovenia and created Yugoslavia.

  • No, after WWI, Yugoslavia was created, then, after WWII I think Croatia and Serbia were created (but I may be wrong on that single part, but anyways, Serbia and Croatia were created after WWII, thats for sure and Serbia existed before WWI

  • yes world war 1* that was a typo. After World War 1 Yugoslavia was created. And after World War 2 Yugoslavia remained.

  • if the war against russia had started really on may 15th maybe moscow had been occupied --- more than a month can be much time in war ...especially in the war against soviet union

  • Or at in the last days of May. Also if he manly focus to only take Leningrad , Moscow and parts of Ukraine in 41. There were a lot mess in the deployments of troops.

  • I have read somewhere that the RAF attacked Berlin that same day. Ribbentropp and Molotov were hiding in basement and Molotov asked Ribbentropp that if Britain is finished, whose airplanes are above Berlin? That is maybe an urban legend, I dont know... Please, pardon my grammar and data if I made some mistakes and correct me if necessary.

  • lol yeah thats true putin!!! XD

Yes!USSR produced more tanks and oil...

But based on ALL War making Material and so on Germany outproduced USSR by 2 to 1...

But Combined(All Allies) outproduced Germany by more 25 to 1...Remember it was USA,UK,USSR and 93 other Nations.

  • Hitler did the right thing invading the SU;

too bad it wasn't successful; the Russian hoards would have attacked western Europe givin time...if you think not, you know little of the matter....To take Russia out, Hitler had to "neutralize" Poland and the western powers, up to invading the SU, Britian was very weak... he made the right choice, only just later he made the wrong ones...not letting his generals run the show...

  • you fuckin nazi
