Well, "lookitsmac", I don't know if I really agree with that. I think there are quite a few good stories out there by him...this is probably going to be another one combined with the expected high energy action and drama sequences. I think it looks pretty good from just a few minutes of trailer...at least they didn't show us the entire movie in the trailer like they did with The Informant. Gah, that's about 2.5 hours of my life I can't get back. Promoting a comedy that isn't is wrong! lol

the thing I don't really get is what this movie is about. They show off the cgi or whatnot in the trailer but they don't even really tell us much about anything out. If anyone knows what this is about exactly please respond.

It's mostly a secret. Cameron is a good director, he's not like the others who give you the whole movie in just a trailer. Besides, this is no real trailer, but just a tease.

The film is about Pandora, a moon under human colonization. A paralyzed ex marine's avatar (human-Na'vi hybrid) joins the world and discovers its untold riches, including the indigenous Na'vi humanoid aliens, ending up also in a romantic relationship with one of them.

Really? in my opinion, its almost too predictable... From the trailer, I assume humans are landed on a alien planet and fighting for some reason. The guy on the wheelchair is a veteran who switches body into the blue thing, who falls in love with one of the female blue things ( way too much cgi I could puke and smile gleefully at the same time). He then fights for the blue things instead, then dies with a stake in his stomach 1:40 and switches to the veteran clutching his stomach. There ;D

Okay haters, remember you 're supposed to be watching it in 3-D. I was at Universal Studios for their Terminator 3-D thing and it was the coolest thing I've seen on screen. If I watched what they did without the 3-D then it would suck as much as you think Avatar does.

It's got WETA syndrome. They make visuals that are pretty but not believable. Like beautiful paintings, but not like looking at a reality that you can believe and get into. It doesn't work nearly as well.
