When you are that close you have to be careful that something isn't sticking out from the train that can hit you. And in the case of high speed trains there is some suction that can cause a person to lose his balance perhaps. Also, you are making the engineers nervous as hell.
I think it is in Brazil where kids surf the trains. That is they stand on top of the cars and ride. Most of these people probably have IQs equivalent to that of a dog, or perhaps a cat. Frequently these people splatter themselves all over something. What a way to go.
Another way to tell, the cab control car has horns on top. You can see them in the first passing, the second pass, they zoom by so fast, you can't see them.
Nice getting two shots of two trains passing. A small suggestion, film from in front of the crossing and get the crossing signals in the video activating as the trains approach the crossing. That would be cool! I go over this crossing around 7:15AM most weekday mornings.
i also go to Belmont High, which runs along the tracks (literally 7 meters fromt he tracks), and the trains are so loud

Two trains at once makes a pretty good racket.

Seems to me that rains used to make alot more noise when I was a kid 50 or 60 years ago. I saw just the tail end of steam. Seems like yesterday.
