Rolland S Howard the guitar player wrote it and then he joind the Boys Next Door and Nick Cave sang it instead. My favorite version of it still will be by The Screaming Jets they have and electric and acoustic version. The lyrics are powerful no matter who sings it and I have not heard a bad version of this yet.
This song is very powerfully used in the film Dogs In Space too :-)
