  • when i first started learning korean i though ' t o ' & 'o f ' made a korean word :x

  • anyone what song is played in this video?

  • crab = 게 (거+에) [ge]

    dog = 개(가+에)[gae]

  • i kno! that is so confussing to me cause you could say " man i want some ge" and they could think you daid i want some dog, lol. thats funnt tho

  • that is also confusing to Korean cause only 30% of Korean distinguish 'e' from 'ae' in my opion. So We call "ge" -> "dae-ge" or "Kkot-ge" ,"Ppang-ge" etc...

    But, don'n worry. Your eyes can clearly distinguish "게" from "개" in the text in a book.

  • yea thats true.lol, thanx

  • Well Dog is actually

    They do kinda sound similar tho

  • how do ppl not confuse crab and dog they sound nearly the same no?

  • Actually, even most of Korean (urban) people can't tell 게(crab) from 개(dog) easily. Haha...

    And that's why they sometimes make a pun about 게 and 개.

    But they avoid confusion like this:

    멍멍 짖는 개 (dog barking meong-meong),

    바다에 사는 게 (crab living in/near the sea),

    개, 고양이 할 때의 개 (dog of when you say "dog and cat"),

    etc.

  • I see Thank you (diff account)
