  • I'm going to be taking Chinese in college this coming fall and I was wondering if there were any kinds of tips that you had to give to someone that would be starting out. Also, how fluent in Chinese are you? And how long have you been studying it? Thanks!

  • lol you are so funny, glad you had fun. How easy is it to get tickets if one doesn't speak Chinese? I mean you do so I guess it's ok. XD I'm really impressed you got lost in Shanghai and found your way back

  • i want some snow :(,

    jealous much!

the event seems really cool btw!

  • 5 stars for snow :)

  • Please don't tell me word 'one' (as in referring to yourself) exists in your vocabulary :P

  • Ooooh the bike is cool ! :)

And how did your test go ?

I was wondering, is it really snowing or did the chinese sent chemical products in/to the clouds to make sure it'll snow, 'cause i read something about that weird way to affect the weather in the paper the other day and i don't know if it's true or just a big joke.

  • They do do that, it's called cloud seeding and they use it in the north to induce rainfall but earlier this year they caused one of the earliest snow storms in Beijing on record. I am in Nanjing though, and as far as I know this snow was legit.

  • everytime i watch these vlogs they make me miss you loadsss :(

  • *love*

  • Haha, your bike story reminds me of a time I went to see my cousins. They didn't tell me their bike's brakes were broken and I ended up scraping the side of my face after falling off the curb at top speed. Yay!

  • Ouch! I thought that was going to happen to me, so lucky I didn't . Hope you're okay now.

  • Well, there isn't any lasting physical damage. More of a pride thing. :)

You must have better balance or motor control than I do; I am always falling!

  • jazza, you are so taking advantage of everythingg that is in china, and im really happy that you are doing that. also, i noticed you have really good grammar, impressive. and isn't it a little early for it to be snowing...?

erm, keep being awesome jazza. =]

  • what do you mean I have really good grammar? and yeah, China weather has been weird recently.

  • i mean you have really good grammar, in the beginning of your video you said something like "one has to" and then later on you continued with using "one" rather than "you." i probably would have switched from "one" to "you" ... sorry i just notice little things like that. =]

  • it's a english thing. i slip with that alot too.

  • Oh Jazza, I missed seeing your face around the internet! Glad you're having a great time ^_^

  • ahhh you would hate my life, every day i have to wake up at 5:45 so i can leave the house by 6:30 to get to school which starts at 7:30, this week we were on thanksgiving break and ive been sleeping past noon every day, tomorrow is going to suuuuck

  • Oh no, okay, your time table sucks more.

  • jazza i thought you werent able to reply to the comments?

oh and sorry i never sent you those lectures on political science, i never got around to buying the burnable dvds, and then you had to go off to china =/

  • LMAO I had this on while my Grandma was visiting and she said "he shouldn't be talking to a camera whilst eating... tell him this," < so I'm telling you lol.

Also, no brakes? ok that sounds freaky, and lmao at you reading your map wrong, I love you!!!

Wow snowing, we don't have any snow in London, but it's COLD :)

  • I love your Gran. Mine would say the exact same thing. The weather here is exactly the same as Manchester... apart from the snow.

  • those bikes sound scary! at least you were wearing a helmet

    hope you did well on your test...it hasn't snowed where I am in canada yet D;

  • At least you weren't in a place like San Francisco where the roads are up and down, sharp, and twisty. Or is Shanghi similar I'm not really aware of the condition of Chinese streets. Good job making it most of the way through! After I get lost I tend to just give up, so well done.

  • No, shanghai is pretty flat. I was very close to giving up there though. I genuinely had no idea where I was for hours.

  • i wouldn't want to ride a bike without brakes, that would scare me so much. i'm glad you're still doing well!

  • Thanks :)

  • Is it scary being so far away from home?? good luck with learning you characters xx

    xxxRosa

  • I had pretty bad culture shock at the start but you settle into it really easily.

    Thanks!

  • that Transformers bike was seriously awesome. Jazza lost in Shanghai, what a sight, lol, but I guess that could happen to me also in that massive metropolis.

  • Those bikes sound like death traps!

  • yeah, they're really good at trapping deaths.

  • OH MY GOD SNOW. GIVE ME SOME!!

  • I'll mail you some :P

  • I WANT THAT TRANSFORMERS BIKE! :D

  • You don't. It didn't have breaks either.

  • getting lost on a weird bike sounds scary!!!!!

but yay for irish bar :)

  • it's snowing lol

  • I have to wake up at 6:00 everyday, lol.

  • Me too, even earlier when I've got too much homework to get it done the night before. :P

  • Im glad your still alive i was getting slightly worried.. I wish it was snowing here but of course it not and its just cold and windy or cold and rainy

  • :D SNOW! Yeey <3 ^_^

  • I would have never thought that you of all people would read a map upside-down lol!

It's so cool that so many events are happening around you

    O.o snow...

Hope it snows again over here in Britain Good Luck on your test on Monday ^,~

At least you don't have a French Oral Exam this week D:

  • I think for me that would probably be terrifying... putting me in a foreign city with a map and a bike. Dear God.

  • oh wow I'm jealous. There is NO chance of snow this xmas :D I'm gonna have to live with the beach weather :P

Have fun my fellow Gweilo (I know thats cantanese and therefore wrong, but thats all you hear around sydney!)

    Catch you later!

  • awesome! shanghai is the lovliest place :)

i bet you know more chinese than i do now, bear in mind both of my parents are chinese, haha. i need to catch up.

    hope your enjoying china! x

  • The idea that you're in China makes you sound extra British, like you're there to be shutting down an opium den.
