Chiropractic is clearly not quackery. It's totally proven by science, embraced by the mainstream public and covered all insurance carriers due to its effectiveness.
CHIROS (CREATE) MICROHYPERMOBILITY WHICH DESTABALIZES THE SPINE. THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO 'DO THEIR THING'. THEIR ARE ZERO STANDARDS AND THEREFORE THEY CAN NEVER BE WRONG! INSANITY!
What makes chiros doctors is their education on diagnosis, not the ability or inability to prescribe or cut. They are not a cure all and some are better diagnosticians than others. There are good and bad in both fields.
@Smithpolly boy are you stupid. physicians send people to their lackey therapists because there's no chance they will get well since neither of them know their ass from a hole in the ground about the cause or the correction of it. they want to look justified when they cut them up which is what they planned to do from the beginning. gotta pay for that new mercedes. medical quacks- a curse on society.
@hiodr So, you can't think of any situations where modern medicine might be of some use? None at all? Zero? Zilch? Nada? Nothing crosses your mind where you think it might be a good idea to be able to go to a doctor?
@Smithpolly i said no such thing. i said they don't get sick people well. you don't know the difference apparently between symptom suppression, patching up injuries, and actually restoring health. meicine's legitimate application is called first aid-dealing with some crisis or impending crisis, but it's mechanstic approach typically fails to find or correct the cause of most illness. instead, is adds to it with it's stupid habit of using toxic drugs to mickey-mouse a cover-up of symptoms.
@hiodr My question was "Can you think of any situations where modern medicine is effective?" I take it that you can think of certain situations where modern medicine is effective. I don't recall saying anywhere that modern medicine is without fault.
@Smithpolly not "without fault". the understatement of the century. having a medical doctor trying to deal with most health problems is like having a supposed gardener whose solution to your dying lawn is to paint it green.it's plainly stupid. they're simply not qualified to correct the cause of most health problems, which is why people under medical care fail to get well.
@hiodr Perhaps, it is an understatement but since my original question was only about whether someone can of any situation where modern medicine might be usual and apparently you can. I'm not quite sure why you're getting so upset. As I'm sure you're aware, stress and anger can be very detrimental to one's health and you seem eager to experience both without the least provocation.
@Smithpolly Many use chiropractic for anger management and mental health issues. You are just familiar with drugs= health comes from the outside-in method. Chiropractic= health come from the inside-out method= the truth and safer and more effective.
@chiropractic47 I've no doubt that they do. The question is "Does it work?". And asking that question doesn't automatically mean that I think the only solution for every health issue is to take drugs.
@Smithpolly Does chiropractic work? Of course! In 1993, the U.S. govt. via the Dept. of Health and Human Services (DHHS) after reviewing multi govt./state, and international studies, released its official federal guidlines for low back pain/spine and nervous system dysfunction. It chose chiropractic over that of medicine, osteopathy, and physical therapy, finding spinal adjustments when performed by a doctor of chiropractic is much more effective than other venues of spine care.
@chiropractic47 Please read Canadas' "Magna Report", "The New Zealand Report", "The state of Oregon report on chiropractic vs medicine", etc. Every ligitimate scientific study on chiropractic, found it superior to medicine, osteopathy, and PT.
@chiropractic47 While I understand that back problems can make the best of us grumpy, I'm not sure that treating back problems can be classed as anger management therapy. What does the U.S. govt. via the Dept. of Heath and Human Services (DHHS) after reviewing multi govt./state, and international studies say about using chiropractic for anger management and mental issues?
@Smithpolly The U.S. govt. recently gave millions of research money to chiropractic for its success with depression and addiction. Jay Holder, MD, DC (winner of the Albert Schwietzer Prize in medicine) is the head research doctor. I have several patients that swear chiropractic helped them recover from depression. As a token of appreciation, they are one of my best source of referrals.
@Smithpolly Stephen Barrett? LOL! Did you know this never licensed MD was prosecuted and found guilty of slander against Jay Holder, MD, DC? He was also found guilty of impersonating a licensed MD, and contempt of court? Why? The court found that he gave numerous expert medical testimonies whilst he was never a licensed MD. Go-on, Google it. LOL! Go to ICA and ACA websites for too many to list publications. Please spar with me intelligently. NEXT!
@chiropractic47 You better contact Mr Holder straight away then because the most obvious thing that is coming up when one googles him is Mr. Barrett's article. You say that Jay. M. Holder is a Doctor of Medicine? Can you tell me which medical school he studied in?
this is coming from a med student....sure some of these manipulations work, but the ones that do are used by physical therapists. There is a degree call doctor of physical therapy (DPT), while they are not physicians either, they are by far more qualified than chiropractor, because their practice is dictate 100% recent med research, period.
Ever wonder why you get sent by a physician to a physical therapist not a chiropractor after surgery.
@link2swim06 Yes, you get sent there because the MD doesn't know any better and it is likely he wants to keep the care within the medical framework. Having been a chiropractor for nearly 35 years, I have seen this quite often. I am usually the last resort after other methods fail to get results.
The problem with your analogy mr. Video man is that in Plumbing school they don't teach you that fixing a particular faucet will cure asthma, etc.. They don't bend pipes up and down and claim to know the type of water that the pipes should be getting, etc.. etc.. etc.. Manips can be useful as needed for some types of back/neck pain, but when chiro's go off on a tangent about all sorts of anecdote, that's where the plumbing analogy fails. Plumbing does incorporate religious fervor
I mean Plumbing does not incorporate religious fervor. There are too many chiro's asking people to hold vitamin bottles in their hands, then asked to twist their feet to see what their vitamin deficiencies are. These are the quacks that give chiro's a bad name; not all of course.
Want to perform a study? Lets have 10 patients, and only "some" get adjusted to the point where they are deemed "clear"..And, 5 minutes later, lets have 10 chiros examine each and tell us which ones they are consistently.
Or, go through a treatment schedule until you are deemed under "maintenance care", which usually happens when ur insurance is exhausted..then one day after a visit return and say you were rearended that morning.see all the "problems" that suddenly emerge in neck, even on xray
@TheBaseballdoc You do know that radiologic findings do not nec. correlate with one's problems, right? How many x-rays have you seen where the spine looks a mess yet the patient never had pain in their life? Lots of assumption therapy going on. No matter what manip you get, gravity never goes away; those facets only move about 3mm, so gravity wins; hence, no such thing as maintenance adjustments; that's why the science has never shown such; to assume +ve's has equal weight with assuming -Ve's
The "only 5% of medical procedures have double bilnd peer reviewd placebo studies to test their validity", not ony doesnt make any sense, but is a myth in itself, and is propogated by a very small "study" performed overseas in the early 1960's, which looked at prescription patterns. Please drag yourself into the 21st century. When a dental procedure "doesn't work", we can observe and measure (2 of the 3 components of science, the other being reproducibility) why, not just "make something up".
"Our feeling, and clinical experience, shows that just avoid medical care... will improve costs and outcomes..."
what?
Can you get anymore quacky? I've seriously been trying to dispel myths about Chrios to myself and I've seen great videos, and articles about the somewhat beneficial practice of Chiros (although Osteopathy through Medical Doctors is far superior in my belief) but every where I turn, I see some ridiculous statement made by a Chrio that sends me back to square 1.
Fact: only 5% of medical procedures have double blind peer reviewed placebo studies to test their validity...heart stints are the best example, no studies, but they help people every day. In response to the comment that Chiropractic is not demonstrated as effectinve, check out our peoples testimonials on our page at Healthquestchiro, your statement is proven wrong in our office several hundred times a day.
@healthquestchiro Fact: It is not necessarily ethical or practical to perform a double blind, placebo tests on medical procedures. How are you going to give some one a placebo for open heart surgery? Would it be ethical to do so? Placebos are not always warranted. In the case of a new procedure would it be more telling to compare the new procedure to nothing (placebo) or compare the new procedure to the old procedure? "The plural of anecdote is not data" - Roger Brinner
@healthquestchiro Alan Minor is a quack with a slick website selling expensive, ineffective and dangerous treatment. Google "chirotalk bad apple defense".

@maxpowers439 Thats why they go to school for six years with only 7 weeks with of breaks and receive a Doctorate degree. Get your facts straight. what do you do for a living?
@maxpowers439 Well, they do have a doctorate degree. Just like lawyers, vets, and dentists. You had better not refer to your professors as "Doctor So-and-so" because they aren't doctors either.
@maxpowers439 they are not medical doctors, that is obvious. they are doctors in that they help get sick people well, something medical doctors typically fail at.
@maxpowers439 You are a dipshit. Just because they do not prescribe you a pill makes them not a doctor? What About their DOCTRATE degree?? Oh and may I add the 850 more credit hours than your pill pusher?
Hello dipshit. I'm not interested in pills. I'm interested in evidence based medicine. You know the one that has some actual scientific proof? Chiropractics has none.
And yeah, I can also start educating people in lets say, "Shutting the hell up if you are clueless about medicine", you are free to attend if you like, then I'd hand you out a DOCTORATE degree to you, when I feel you have learend how to shut the hell up. If you like I could add up 10000 more credits to your education? Ok?
@maxpowers439 Well go ahead and give me your studies on how there is "no scientific proof" that Chiropractic works. I would love to attend your college. Would you like to attend mine? It's a new program called Douchebags that have no idea what they are talking about. I think you could excell in this program. You just might be able to graduate the top of your class. Give you something to actually be proud of in your life.
@maxpowers439 There is plenty of published literature supporting chiropractic, you just choose not to read it, it threatens your antiquated medical paradigm- health comes form the outside-in, whilst chiropractic follows the laws of nature= health comes from the inside-out.
@maxpowers439 Chiropractic doctors (DC) are licenced doctors under all 50 state education stautes as well as licenced physicians under the federal govt. medicare statute. DC's complete the same classroom subjects as MD's, but 500 more classroom hours than MD's. This information is published on govt. websites and the U.S. Dept. of Edu. You are attempting to compare apples with oranges by comparing Chiropractic care to allopathic medicine. The problem with studies comparing chiro to medical intervention is that there is no way to determine whether better results are due to chiro care or to the fact that people avoided medical care. Our feeling, and clinical experience, shows that just avoiding medical care, especially for spinal issues, will improve costs and outcomes!
@healthquestchiro Thank you for your response, however, I am not quite sure you answered the question. I never asked for the comparison between chiropractic and allopathic.
