@joanii11 Yes. That IS the most confusing question of this movie and it was never answered. Maybe I missed something but I don't get it. And Edward's background, somehow, would work? Isn't any curse supposed to be cured by a prince charming? A moral being. Still totallly confused here. ha Great kisses though. He grabs Jane Austen in, "Becoming Jane." What is it about a man who grabs and kisses a woman that is appealing? :) At least this man. A man that did this to me be would get decked!

@joanii11 @Songsmirth 'One of her own kind' according to the mother meant blue bloods. Blue bloods = people of noble or aristocratic descent (old money?). It was a case of mistaken identity. EDWARD (who James McAvoy's character was mistaken for at the start of the movie") was a blue-blood, so according to the mother, Edward would be able to cure the curse. But JOHNNY (McAvoy's real character) was a regular guy--not a blue-blood, therefore he couldn't break the curse. Hope that makes sense. :)

It's difficult to tell, the picture is too small on youtube, looks to me like just a normal black and white photo, but not taken on a digital, probably a vintage from the 40's or 50's like a rollicord 35mm. Definitely not sepia though. Hope this helps!
