Been to Tijuana once, Dec '01, with my own car, Ontario plates, zero Mexican border guards to ask you any questions, otherwise if you speak no Spanish, unfamiliar with local ppl, lifestyle, traditions, cultures, etc., a pretty risky trip IMHO, God forbid you have a mechanical problem with your car, your american cell phone wont work in Mexico, no 911 in Mexico... and it's midnight... and you're stuck in the middle of nowhere.
That actually looks pretty nice. Reminds me a bit of San Jose, Costa Rica but with a rockier/more mountainous setting. I grew up in SoCal, so I'm pretty familiar with the landscape. TJ is not a horrible place, as your video shows. Nice work.
Tijuana has lots of nice places...maybe next time ask a taxi driver to take you to a better hotel by Zona Rio or Chapultepec not in "el Centro/Zona Norte" and a better tire shop not located in "Canyon Los Laureles"...
Cool video Bogar!: and that is amazing that that buick made it all that way and back w out a ounce of problems....gotta love 80s stuff! that for sure is proof that they just dont build em like that anymore!! cool man cool! :)
@j45007 Dude I swear this is going to sound kind of weird but damn your voice is relaxing. I'm going to start calling you the sand man! What sort of preventative maintenance checks do you perform before long drives through mexico in the older gm cars? I have 2 G Bodys 86 Regal and a 78 Cutlass. I want to take one on a long trip but I dont want to run into any issues with maintenance.
@Vindaturk well actually im glad somebody else said it before me but i fully agree with what you said about his voice! i really like it. I sometimes look for videos where he talks alot and i fall asleep to it. But i love your videos Bogar they are not boring, but i purposely watch them again sometimes just for the voice. Its like nice, deep, so clear and soothing somehow! thanks Bogar.
ME too. I thought i was the only one, his voice puts me to sleep. The best tour bus driver ever. It's kind of weird giving a compliment like that. Its just not common you know? But Bogar still rocks man. You do too King Carlos.
Nice! I like Mexico, its like another world. I use to live in Juarez with my dad and grandma. I was born in El Paso. Hope to see more vids from u often.
Te rifaste carnal. Nice video es chido que enseñes las calles de Tijuana y todo lo que hay no como las noticias que solo graban y dicen de las balaceras y cuanta mother. Great video Bogar I wish I could go to D.F and record some of the stuff over there y tambien grabar Iguala Guerrero it's really big and beautifull as well.
@DylanMayhew, Hey whats up? and what blinking light...wt time is it at? And i pay a taxi when i am getting to a certain address to save me time from looking all over. -BOGAR!
@j45007 maybe it be cheaper to buy a GPS for that? but then again I am not sure how good GPS's are down there? and I'm not sure what it's coming from maybe outside but look around 6:11
@j45007 im assuming right near the end was one of those taxis? , reminds me of a trip i too into mexico early 2001. went in around nogales az area, and then drove to rocky point. and back to phoenix.
First of all, cool video! Love to see stuff about that Buick as we have a '77 LeSabre project ourselves! Did you have any problems at all along the way? And was that yellow Olds the lead car for your trip?
@macJC50640 Thanks for the comments/compliments....and yes since my time was kinda limited and i was going to specific places...then i paid a taxi to lead me to the correct places and i waste no time that way. On other occasions i jus drive where ever my nose leads me...and i dont pay no taxis. LOL. -BOGAR!
@antonio30824 Antonio..not only shouldn't you drink the water...now there is the danger of exploding swamp gas from sewage that killed several ( 7 ) people over the weekend at Playa del Carmen, Mexico
nice video...your kahunas are wayyyy bigger than mine. A few days ago they either captured or killed the drug cartel leader in Mexico. It took an army of men and guns to do it. I thought one day I might like to drive to the Panama Canal and back..Things being as they are it will be a looong time before that happens. Thanks for posting. always enjoy your vids.
@aaokiwan, LOL...Well not very much intimidates me. If i want to go somewhere then im going to go! But trust me, i am cautious any where i go U.S.A or not...you got to be! And i always enjoy your comments. -BOGAR!
Are you driving a Buick Lesabre?
