@cessna65423 No, they reuse to do a debate where the moderator wants to take the focus off of the candidates and put it all on him. And CNN has bricks the Tea Party's bitch over the last year. The only station with a "Tea Party Debate"
Rick Perry consents to be on the Ultra Liberal Letterman show to be made a fool of and Michele Bachmann will appear on Jimmy Fallon's show as the band plays LYING ASS BITCH for her when she walks out, yet they refuse to do a debate hosted by Donald Trump and Newsmax for the unfounded excuse that it will be a circus all about Trump. Why Hypocritical Bullshit. They have no problem debating on a network like Cnn that LOVES OBAMA but refuse to be in a debate from someone that HATES Obama
Why would a presidential candidate make himself look like an idiot right before the Republican Primary is beyond me. Rick Perry's chances of winning is very slim, but after this appearance, I think it is pretty much over. Stick a fork in it.
Honest and capable...you mean honest about his total lack of substance and capable of destorying his campaign in 5 seconds. Then yes, I agree with you.
Any luck finding that birth certificate proving the president is a muslim?
@rrrevan I can't wait for your president to turn the rest of the USA into your favorite state, CA. Broke, taxed to the max, and regulated like no other in the Union. You can hang with the rest of the 99%, I'll light my cigars with your taxpayer money.
I work as an analyst for Marsh (Stanford '09) - please don't trouble yourself on my account.
What does the fact that I live in the Bay Area have to do with the incompetence of rick perry? I could live in Manhattan and Rick Perry would still be just as unqualified.
@TheSocialDistorter - I live in CA. We have the world's 8th largest economy. We are the largest economy in the US. So apparently, we're doing the right things.
Yeah, how dare our presidents spend time honing speeches to perfection when addressing the free world. Why can't we have more shit kicker presidents from texas going off the cuff and forgeting their entire solution to balancing the countries budget.
Don't you dare give this fraud points for being geniune - he's unqualified and unprepared for the most important job in the world
@rrrevan Obama wasn't elected on his qualifications, because he had none. Even his most ardent supporters couldn't articulate a single qualifying factor that the man possessed, other than being the legal age limit. He was better prepared for the job than many of his detractors may admit, and having been on the job for 3+ years has provided him with some of the qualifications he lacked in 2008, (when he had none). Perry has years of executive experience. Unprepared? Debatable. Unqualified? no
Lets be clear about something - "executive experience" in texas means lowering business tax to nothing and allowing as much drilling for oil as possible. A monkey could be gov of texas if he just kept those two mandates in mind. The state is blessed with vast natural resources. I'm sure the president of Dubai probably feels he's doing something right too.
debatable? He's been governor for over a decade and clearly has no interest in world affairs or anything outside of energy
@rrrevan Let's be clear about something else- "qualifications" ain't what they used to be, as of 2008. President Obama set the bar at a historic low as to what reasonably qualified one to hold the office. I'm not even saying he's been a poor President. Considering his lack of qualifications for the job, the argument could be made that he's been a ringing success. With wildly popular 'cult of personality' figures like Cain, Obama and Palin seen as presidentially qualified, I'm not optimistic.
I empathize with Perry, I would have a hard time concentrating with Mitt Romney smiling at me, he's handsome as hell - that's coming from a straight guy
Perry has apparently helped his state while being governor. It might be too bad that he's not as silver tongued as Obama is. Maybe Perry would be a good president, but he likely won't get the chance because he's not smooth.
Right now this is the only complete and functional clip from last night that I can find online (CBS site only has a 49 second clip), but this will probably be removed soon. Too bad... It's funny! Perry's good with comedy but should not be president.
@coyeti- Actually, his delivery was impeccable! He could make it as an actor, with wonderful comedic flair. I have a whole new respect and fondness for this guy.
He is not the first one doing Letterman. But this makes the new low of American politics. More than anything, this is an insult to the American voters.
So funny! My favorite excuse is I just found out Justin Beaver is my father

Seems he was improvising a little, rather than reading the script, robotically and word for word, off the teleprompter. How un-Presidential.
