  • awesome! many thanks for this upload, a great series that got a lot of attention back in the day and Sean Bean became a star here in the US- cheers! p60

  • Again,o full screen!

  • SEAN BEAN.

  • This does not "Explain it All"

  • maybe this isn't the best quality, but I've wanted to watch this for a while and I never could find it at all so thank you so much.

And I think she slapped Lovelace because he couldn't stop staring at Clarissa as she walked away

  • Why did she slap him?

  • @ninomiya

Hypocrisy--she was enjoying his rather salacious kissing of her, but as soon as Clarissa came by and gave her disapproving look, Bella realized how she must have appeared to Clarissa. And so to regain her dignity, she slapped Mr. Lovelace. But it was too late. Our impression of Bella has already been formed.

  • My name is Clarissa. 8'OO I'm fin.

  • Por favor en español, no entiendo mucho la trama, pleaseeeeeeeee

  • @claudiafernandez70 ola! Lamentablemente yo tambien trato d conseguirla en español, pero no he tenido exito :-( Lo siento!

  • Clarissa is a lovely film to watch, like Barry Lyndon & Tom Jones, enchanting!

  • @McSqueaky hehehe, you made click on the wrong square!

  • @vickytaspartan curse you... CUUURSE YOU..

  • Surprisingly good dramatization of Clarissa. Inevitably, a lot of the amazing psychological detail gets sifted out -- Clarissa's ambivalence toward Lovelace, and the fascinating dynamic between her and Anna Howe, were more richly developed in the original -- but still much of the subtlety is suggested. This was one of the most extremely disturbing novels I've ever read and this dramatization brings out much of the book's chilling quality. Thanks for posting!

  • Thanks Vicky for posting, I have a vague recollection of watching this in my youth but forgot how powerful and heartbreaking it was.

  • i'm in my element, adored this, was it really shown so long ago,i've met a few Mr Soames since then, lol

  • Thank you for this excellent production of "Clarissa."

  • Thank you!

  • Thks so much, i had this on VHS and have been trying to get the DVD though its not available as a region 2 DVD in the UK.

  • É mesmo uma pena que no Brasil não existam nem os DVDs da minisserie, a venda, nem mesmo a tradução do romance de Richardson, para o português...

Linda e triste historia. Se tiver uma filha, quero que se chame Clarissa!

  • This is what got me into Period Dramas. I'm so happy I can see it again. Thanks

  • I have the unfortunate need to read the entire 1500 page book for University; but it's a good read, and thanks for uploading the television version, hopefully it'll be a great asset to the reading part!

  • This is a great show! I have the region 2.

I first saw this on Masterpiece Theatre in the early '90s, and they had a custom credit sequence to end each episode with fantastic music. Anybody know what this music was? Thanks!

XD
