  • my wavestation ex still gives me the shivers till today

  • you really picked out the cheesiest instruments here.. how about the warm pads??

  • The first patch sounded very very similar to the D-50's pcm loop in the patch called Digital Native Dance, it almost sounds just like it. Interesting similarities.

    TSF

  • how much tones does wavestation has ?plase answer :P

  • Check it in Wikipedia ;D (headline - Memory allocation)

  • @MrMegaSWEBOY 400 - 500 dollars

  • @MrMegaSWEBOY

The original Wavestation keyboard had 365 Rom waveforms - mostly synthetic sounds. There's one permanent Rom bank with 50 Performances (combos of patches with FX), 35 Patches & 32 Wave Sequences (lists of waves that play in order, used like oscillators in a patch). Two Ram banks each hold the same amount of Performances etc for your own sounds. 32 note polyphony & 8 part multi timbral.

WS EX keyboard had an additional 150 Rom waveforms including some real instruments & drums.

Then there's the two rack unit Wavestations:

Wavestation A/D rack (2u) - extra Rom waves like EX, plus an extra Ram bank (3 Ram banks in total) & analogue inputs for processing external audio. Wavestation SR rack (1u) - same as the A/D, but lost the analog inputs, big screen & vector joystick, then added a further 7 permanent Rom banks of presets.

Seems like the EX, A/D and SR are 16 part multi timbral but I'm not 100%.

All the WS can take cards that give you another Ram bank.

  • Is this synth analog?

  • Now, is just Samples read. ;-)

  • what?

  • @g00lipop digital and a good one at that. its pretty unique, can be a kunt to program though, but there always the most rewarding synths

  • The Korg Wavestation is a vector synthesis synthesizer (Wave Synthesis)

  • @g00lipop It's digital.

  • @g00lipop It's digital.

  • i cant believe that it sounds the same as my vst version

  • FUHGI look

    Open WS VSTi....>

    Performance RAM1....>

    Select 0 Ski Jam

This will get you the rhythm pattern used in this track.

The author sped up lil bit the BPM of it.

Go EDIT...>EFFECTS and move the numbers around to match the BPM used here.

  • This sound is typical for the Roland D-50, the factory loop and the screaming lead.

  • That rythmic patch was burn to the core baack then! never had the chance to use it on a production..

Now I have this synth in VST
