In capitalism you beach ships and that is profitable. This mind goes in many directions.
In capitalism you beach ships and that is profitable. These ships are not cheap. Dumping them is somehow profitable. Is this like U.S.A. banks dumping bad debt?
The system is not right. Destroy the system. A ship should at least be worth recycling. Something ain't right. Maybe greedy capitalism has to go. Maybe care for humanity worldwide should step up. I'm sure that's hard for those who want to
@un42n8karma feel they are better. "I won't feel rich until I can't see the poor thru a microscope!" In the end the only solution to the problems of humanity is the end of humans. Republicans. They aren't humans they are ideas masquerading. Screw it. Point made. not made. GOP wants to destroy America. Go ahead. Kick back.
There's probably a bigger and better story here about how the people that own those boats got away with scamming their insurance companies.
Following that story, is likely a great piece about the biggest "dumping grounds" in the world. Places where weak govts in developing countries can't/don't stop dumping. Insurance companies are irate, but first world govts wont help them or punish companies b/c they bring dirt cheap goods (i.e. seafood) to first world consumers.
EU is Green?, Green my ass, Bio-Energy eating up forest in Indonesia to plant palm oil, forests chopped in Brazil to grow soy to feed Europe's cows and dumping ships in a poor country..On the other hand it may be good by giving those poor people something to do...There are just too many people in the world.
Sayyy what? I want to continue to live inte Sweden. Not the state Sweden. I dont want to live inte the United States of Europe. That would fucking blow.
Whoa...that's so weird to think that there's just a whole bunch of shipwrecks, just sitting there. It looks like a graveyard. *Obviously, but it's still very intriguing*
It I was the leader of Mauritania, I'd have also asked the EU for money with which to build concrete bunkers to replace the ships, and to maintain that ecology that promotes the growth of fish populations.
Please kevin costner don't go there and make a waterworld II........lol

I admit I'm sick of the fanatical "Green Movement"! But as this is as wrong as throwing anything into our waters, it's wonderfully majestic.
It is marvelous that in a country or area that is so desolate they have started a type of economy out of it.
Still, that's a cool site!!

Mauritania used to be known as a country where a ship could be disposed of and so they were quietly dumped.

It feels like the Capitalist world gives the local inhabitants only poverty and isolation, the graveyard being the allegory to the exploitation.
teemuruskeepaa 1 year ago 2
@teemuruskeepaa not allegory, epitome
teemuruskeepaa 1 year ago
Really strange you would THINK the EU would want to clean up the rotting ships to preserve the fishing grounds.
Check out the dumping of mustard gas and poisons since the end of WW1. All strategic dumped beside fishing grounds.
Looks like the governments don't want the sheople dead.
