I love MKT songs for their high lyrical,musical and tasteful cultural content,though MKT,like me,was BORN in a socalled lower caste.Politicians like DMK,DMK misuse caste concept as coverup for embezzling public money& wealth.

Dravidian parties and govts. by providing quotas on caste basis may well be adding to administrative corruption by favouring a few thousand or few lakh people out of so many crore people, and diluting cinema as a vehicle of good taste since bad democratic practices ape vulgar tastes but not mould good taste.That is not good governance, I am sure you will agree.

A good society has to have place for not just material welfare but.... spiritual welfare, since pursuing former only, will definitely be a disaster as it will create too much jealousy, more demand for unwanted goods and services by misusing mass media. PAULKRIST44,I ALSO LIKE TO ADD THIS: Though CV Raman and S Chandrasekhar got Nobel for physics,and also S Ramanujan an immortal genius in mathematics,and they were good Brahmins,but todays Brahmins are no better disciplined than others in India,which probably shows why NONE of us can get such fame due to our friterring away our energies in cheap things, consuming but never producing great technology, and hardly can do other creative things like elevating type of music for films or classical.

I read the side info re: this song,film, and their days,pre-"Dravidian".Yes,truth is,Tamil civilization of that day was such as to produce millions displaying that collective social conscious which was yet patterned on our eternally valid principle of distinction based on individuality depending on one's own natural aptitudes [Varna dharma].This was totally different from today's extremely dull social philosophy of uniformity of pursuit of money and position for all,which means spiritual death.
