Logging in from Wellington, New Zealand.Formed in Brisbane. Originally called The G-Men. Spent a year or so in NZ before they returned to Australia. There was an Auckland based band called The Pleasers headed by Roger Skinner. Some people tend to get confused between The PleaZers and The PleaSers.
thank you Denis, great blast from the past...I met you in the early-mid sixties at Danceland in Coolangatta and we chatted a number of times when you played there..I came from Kingscliff where your gran lived a block away from me! Lucky I decided to do a search for The Pleazers!
Strange that the video says they are from Brisbane because the 2 singers (Bill and Shane) at least are kiwis, one of them is related to me by marriage. They recorded on the Zodiac record label based in Auckland NZ.
What a fabulous band-fortunately I have a near mint copy of there only LP that was released in 1966. The Aussie and NZ bands from the 60's were in many ways much better than the Brittish Invasion and I live in MInneapolis, Minnesota!
As an American wanting to learn about the NZ 60s music scene, I'm really happy to see something as entertaining and informative as this-Thanks so much for posting!
Outstanding version of a song originally done in 1964 by the Reflections on the Golden World label. The Pleazers in turn had their share of great records.
Also, this version of "That Lonely Feeling" has a different vocal take. Where did you find all these "alternate" versions?

Gloria at the end also has some sort of drum overdub aswell.

The version of "like columbus did" in this video seems to have drum overdubs not present anywhere else.

The original version by The Reflections is the ONLY version...There's NO outdoing true perfection.
