  • can you share the rack?

  • now unless you actually compiled the rest of the song in a different program and rewired or imported it, the whole middle of the song was just cut from the cd (now im only assuming but usually its way easier to build all that from multiple tracks instead of compiling so I think you just edited the main parts)

  • @sullivanbob200745 sorry? i don't understand your comment. I made it using drum samples and tracks from the daft punk albums

  • how did you get the robot rock acapella?

  • Amazing! Please see my message. Would LOVE to get this Ableton set, if possible!!!

  • This is seriously sweet, i've just got ableton and it's fun. Could you upload a project file for this vid? Would be cool to see how you did it all

  • Good Work....

  • Ableton is where its at !!!

  • Wow!

  • GENIUS

  • Where did you get the Human After All sample?

  • Nice...

I been wanting to do this but damn I have had no time.

I been making my own tho, I will post soon.

  • Do you have this as a project file?

  • if you find it please tell me!

  • Wow that was simply amazing man. Like i am really envious of your skills in ableton

    wow!

  • @Jimmylecroy21 thx dude!

  • AWESOME BLOODY DISTORTION!

  • At 4:40 I know that loop type is punk druming.

  • Please post me a cool mix tuturial of Face to face & short curcuit(Alive version).

  • What effects did you use at 1:29 ?

Also, what is that whistle sample called at 1:48 ?

    Thanks!

  • champ, lovesit

  • How did you recreate the beginning of Robot Rock ? (00:00----->1:10)

  • Using bits of Robot Rock and Human After All. Turn the tempo down to around 30-40 BPM, add a couple of beat repeats, and gradually bring it up.

    I'm guessing.

  • @WastBarktender it's just the vocals slowed down using "beats" warp mode, that's how you get that gritty, transient heavy sound ...

  • good work.

  • the beginning sounds like Aphex twins´ rubber johnny <-- check it out

  • hey what is the effect called in ableton you used on stem machine to make it sound that kinda strobe effect?

  • Auto Pan.

  • I have recreated some of the mixes using Traktor 5. You cannot do some of the effects, e.g. voice at the start, but you can still create the great tunes!

I will have to get this program soon...

    M

  • Would you possibly know if Daft Punk uses Arrangement view, like you, and then just plays around with effects, like you?

Or de they do the "DJ" way of loading up the songs into Session View and then triggering each part?

  • I think that is how Daft Punk does it, yes. I heard once that the lights are about 50% live as well.

  • where did you get the all the stems for the tracks? like the "robot and human" samples

  • How did you get the "slow effect" at begining?

  • you warp and bring up the tempo slowly.

  • Hey what beat repeats did you use and what settings?

  • OH YEAH!!!!! lol

    GREAT JOB MAN

  • omg!!!!!!!! IVE BEEN TRYIN TO DO DAT WITH FL STUDIO 8 AND VIRTUAL DJ,IM USING THAT 4 NOW ON!!!!....DAT WUZ FUCKING AMAZING

  • Ableton is for pros.

  • yea i can see,im starting to get the hang of it,still very difficult for me,but so was fl studio,so ill eventual get it

  • If you're really serious, get a MIDI controller. Really useful.

  • i have an korg Ea-1 and a key bored, but the key borded i cant get working on live 8 but it worked on 7,im trying to get trigger finger,or find som1 dat would trade for my Ea-1

  • thats the fuckin truth son

  • BRILLIANT. I've been killing myself trying to switch over to Ableton Live porting over individual parts of all of my songs to individually mix. This makes much MUCH more sense.

  • Could you make a beat repeat demo? I can't get the sound you did. Oh, and great job, man!

  • Can I have the sample of the voice when it says "Rock, robot rock" please? I am doing the same things and a robot rock remix.

  • Yep, this is really supposed to be just a proof of concept, not to get every little bit of audio exactly the same as on the CD.

  • this is crazy, almost an exact replecant, this must of took some time to master it in almost the exact sound of the cd. well yeah even behind all those robot costumes Daft Punk was just djing their performance with some tweaks, they barely any mixin if any involved.

  • The CD was recorded from a Live show o_o.

ANywayz Great job! this sounds a lot like the actual album.

  • i would like to comment about the "fuck it" section of alive 2007:

it isnt actually anything other that the samples of "chip unlock it" and "find it" cut and put together, thus, if you listen carefully enough on the cd you will hear "flock it" - just pointing this out as i am bored and it is 10:30 at night! lol M

  • it's actually "lock it fill it" looped so it's "fock it", at least that's how I did it.

i.e., the loop starts at "ock" and ends at the "f" in "fill", so it sounds like fuck.

  • Yes, I'm pretty sure that's the way they do it.

  • @magician847 it's actually "lock it fill it" together.

  • @magician847 If you see any live videos of the concert, the word Fuck was being projected on the screens behind them...

  • Amazing! It would be so great if you could upload a very high res video of the youtube video, to see what you do in the plugins and stuff. Still learning Live (but who isn't) ;)

  • You need to stutter the R-r-r-r-rock during the segue into Oh yeah. This is amazing! Seriously awesome work... that's the only flaw that I found. Sick!

  • Maybe they only do it on the CD, and switch it at live shows?

  • where can i download it as a mp3??

  • this is awesome. I am think about doing something like this and get Ableton Live 7. Its pretty amazing to be able to do all that just from the simple track off the CD.

  • That's just awesome

  • nice but the percussion sticks are not correct

    any way nice remix

  • Nice job dude.

    ;)

  • Amazing man, i wonder if you could upload this as a Live Session (ableton format) somewhere, it would be very useful for Ableton Live noobs (like me), c'mon plz plz!

  • hoy do you make the stutter effect?

did you do like a cut and paste thing?

or is it a pluggin or effect?

  • If you mean the Rooooobbbooooottt thing at the start, the "robot" sample is set to "Beats" and the tempo slowly increases.

Or if you mean a "stutter effect", that is pretty much the "Beat Repeat" plugin in Live.

  • Check my profile guys. Me and DJ nero (this guy) have made more songs.

  • Very good Job!

  • just remembered if it's all as easy as u say can you do a clash be tween daft punk and the white stripes both great duos the requested are 7 nation army and hbfs plz.

  • plz can you post the other racks and put a unique thing for each especialy tracks 4 and 7 they're my faves

  • is ableton an upload or a download thing and how many tracks did you recreate?

  • the funniest thing about a lot of ableton users is, they always clip the master. if you're running everything at 16 bit, you need to have a -6db minimum on each track. if you use 24 bit, I'd use -12db because it gives you more definition and allows for more transients. It gives you more wiggle room in the bottom. Just use a compressor with a little gain to bring the bottom up wen the mix gets quiet.

  • Ay I've wanted to do this for a while now, how long did it take all together? Any idea if Daft Punk is triggering the everything in real time or if arrangement view is used some? Anyways, love to see this, top notch.

  • Nice job. I love Alive but hate listening to the crowds cheering in the background.

P.S. Your insane but that's what make this recreation so good.

  • Nice job, overall, sounds really good.. Hard to get it exact, but that's not really the point anyways.

  • were did u get the accepella's?

  • good job its spot on, but you have the hi-hat hits way too loud

  • Nice one! im sure this would hve done wonders for your learning curve? hve been using Ableton for a no' of years now, came free with my M-AUDIO sound module for p.c. Still learning something new everyday with it, hands down..this the most complete user friendly sample/song arranger to date, spend more time on this than pro tools or cubase, if your into making films Ableton & AVID make a good pair.

Respect! Did u record your filters in real time??

  • Im actually very suprised at how good this sounds. Fair play.

  • my bad.. i rated you poorly when i was really trying to favorite it... cool stuff!

  • You win the internets. Seriously.

  • 5 star recreation!

  • did you use a mac + ableton live?

just curious, its really good job

  • This is amazing!! It sounds so much like the real thing, and yea they did use Moogs to filter it but still this is awesome! I was considering using Ableton Live for my sets, I use MixMiester now (lol), but now I see that it doesnt look too complicated to use.

  • nice job

  • that was great man. what songs did you get the "Human, Robot" thing from?

  • most likely the songs robot rock, and human after all or he got it from the alive 2007 album

  • Did you use the sampler plug in for this?

  • You should do one tutorial, of the way that you create some things here...

    Nice work:)

  • Unreal, you even did the harmonics on the guitar. Someone has too much time on their hands. LOL.

  • nice work! allez les dafts!

  • awesome love it sounds da same!

  • WOW

  • héhé good one bro ;)

  • OMFG THAT WAS so cool.. it was excellent!!

  • geez... I should learn how to use MY Ableton. it came free with something my pop bought from a guitar catalog, but we never had the guts to try anything more than the first tutorial.

  • nice!

  • Hey dude nice work !! Same as the album version !

I was wondering if could try the encore track from the live ? It's the only one missing from the album but sounds so great

  • Today I just got the album dude theres a major simliarity between this and the Album version except the crowd.

  • this monday i downloaded the album, daft punk have said that they used ableton on their sets, im a ableton fan user, and its clearly the use of ableton daft punk rules!

  • wow.

this is the program daft punkr eally uses to do their live sets.

    AMAZING!

  • no have u seen the inside of there pyramid on google

  • ya.

have you seen the interview where thomas bangalter says, "The set is based mainly with Ableton Live software"?

  • they use behringer midi controllers inside the pyramid to control the samples that are in their ableton software which is stored in towers offstage. then it gets sythesised through the moogs. i wanna get me some of those

  • How do you program the filters to hit on the mark? Been trying to and how did you get those samples? were they ripped from the beginning of the track?

  • nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Where did u get the Human and Robot samples from???... if it where from the original songs how did u cut the instruments sound and kept with the voice only??... Nice work btw... XD

  • man geil... undsowas bekommt man mit disen Ableton Live hinkrigen? hammer nichts wie ab downloaden! und danke nochmals für deine hilfe!

  • LocheeBhoy -

Of course. I do DJing on the side as a hobby, mashing up lots of songs, and it's extremely time consuming. Just last night I DJed a 1 hour set that took a couple of months of diligent work to create, to really make it sound good and flow well. I did this to see how they did it, and to learn a lot about Ableton Live. A love of Daft Punk helps too =)

  • Amazing! Mp3!?

    You did a fantastic job.

  • genius, do you have some of your own work?

  • awesome, I wish the resolution was better so I could see the tools being used.

  • neil1233 - ditto

  • this is awesome!

  • cud u send me all da daft punk songs u did PLZ :)

  • program???

  • are you serious?

  • Excellent! And I liked the way you mixed it in real time... it looked like you were fiddling about with some playback mechanisms during the song.

(Like them - I was wondering if they actually did anything at the concerts, or whether they just stood there. XD)

  • Really nice and worth the time you put into it.
