Muay thai is over-rated. This past year we got deployed to thailand for Cobra Gold. We had 4 marines (same weight class) go up against 4 thai muay thai fighters and they all got destroyed.
Woops on my last post. No elephant step here at 8 seconds. Actually it's Win Tun (red pants) landing low kick to check to see Thai's reaction. Note there is no Elephant step reaction from Thai.
But basically Win Tun stops him with elephant step (lead Leg raised). Counter Round house kicks, counter punhes and most important of all BULL Guard with pushing. That lead leg raised at the very end before he throws the MTB straight punch is the elephant step (non existent in Muay thai). All these principles are missing in Muay Thai and yet people post on youtube that Leth Wei and Thai are the same or more ridiculous that Leth Wei copied Thai boxing. LOL! By BF1
@vistaar I've been doing muay thai for a little bit, and just the other day my muay thai coach was teaching me about the elephant step. so I guess it does exist in the sport
Wow Win Tun (red pants) in the video against thai (grey pants) is really good. The 3.33 min video that you posted Win Tun vs Thai shows a lot of technique by Win Tun. If you want me to break the fight down second by second I can--BF1
