The dominance of power to weight ratio comes into play here. not aerodynamics. They are not going fast enough for that to really be a factor, 1000hp is enough to power through just about any drag difference the blazer has up to a point, it was probably just starting to reach that point at the end of the race . in stock forms the s-10 blazer is around 4200lbs i think, and the vette is about 3200-3300lbs (about 1000lbs lighter).
4wd is possible it takes a lot of mods and money but there is a guy on thirdgen.org that built one hes from europe somewhere and its a sick car i think hes at around 700 hp
QUESTION?? thats sweet, im converting old school 4.3 to a voctec, do i have to change the camshaft/balance shaft? not sure what year it is, also y is there a cover over the camshaft on the old school and not on the vortec, should i remove it?
its not possible, the poster knows not what he says.
If you've worked under the hood of a corvette, you know there is NO room for a front differential, would have to be some sort of crazy chain and sprocket set up on each side, and that would never hold with 1000hp, and steering would be difficult.
The Corvette is AWD. No, there isn't a big, bulky straight axle underneath the car like you see on old Chevy trucks. Both front wheels have CV shafts running to them. It's the same principle you see on any modern AWD car, such as a Subaru, and even the Typhoon you see in the video.
Im not referring to a straight axle, im stating, that if in fact there is a V8 in the engine compartment of that corvette, there is absolutely no way to run power to those wheels short of electric hub motors... NOT POSSIBLE
the transmission is in the rear of the car, have you ever worked on a corvette? or even touched one in real life? lol... theres no way to make it awd with the room available in the engine compartment short of dropping the body on a whole different chassis
Your right dude, there's no way you'd be able to unless you put a whole new chassis under that thing. There is noo room for that shit with a v8 there, and this vette has to have something more then a 350, and its tight in there with a 350, believe me.
@petthekittyz So if it's not a corvette what is it? Because from he explains, it's simply a 4WD conversion. That does not mean it has to be using another chassis.
@petthekittyz First of all how the fuck do you expect me to look it up? Oh wait lemme type in google "1000hp corvette that I saw on youtube that some guy says is not a corvette". Fuck, lay off the drugs kid, this is the real world. Quit making up stories to pretend you make sense, how bout you show me the site where it says that and back up your shit.
@petthekittyz So youre trying to say that if a corvette is 4WD, it is 100% without a doubt a Typhoon chassis? Because that is the only way it can be done?
Corvettes didn't get the rear mounted transaxle until '97, the first year of the C5. This Corvette is much older than that. I guess its safe to say you've never worked on a C4, or older Corvette.
Oh it is? Well that explains the car alot now. Until you said that I was trying to think what the hell they would have done to that thing for the front end. And yeah, I understand what you mean, it's not really a vette anymore, but still this is pretty cool I must say.
How, and more importantly why, would you go about putting a 4wd system in a Corvette?
johnnyo032003 3 months ago
@johnnyo032003 How ?, the 350 is used in some GM trucks so the 4wd tranny is swapable.
Why? for better lauching at the greens but with the added wait , doesn't make seens for a drag car.

I think the Syclone would be a better race for this Vette. Syclone would be faster.

@meatloaf666999 The build of the 4wd vette was going round the internet few years ago, hard to find, but its definitely 4wd.

the typhoon would probably run low 8's if it wasn't a typhoon haha... these are definitely not the most aerodynamic trucks in the world.

Calling this a corvette is like calling the unimog chassis with a smart car body on top a smart car, lol.
It just isn't the original vehicle anymore...
Its like calling the civette a civic with a v8... its not a civic anymore... its a body on a shortened corvette chassis

@SunDownPoint no, not at all.
But it would at the least require extensive suspension modification, the engine and suspension is jammed in their tight on corvettes.
search "Corvette AWD VTG 8.88 sec 1/4 mile" and you will find a couple more videom or even just corvette awd vtg
