Church should be the place of least temptation-I shouldn't see as much (or more!) than what I see on campus. Well, I understand what blackras is saying but I think it's a bit misguided. Why is he asking us women to "help a brotha" out when he should be praying and leaning on the Lord for guidance re: selsf control regarding issues of lustful thoughts. Men need to take personal responsibility in this area rather than faulting women for their attire. Yes, women should dress modestly, but that modesty should be for the glory of God, and not because some fellow doesn't want to exercise self-control.

i truly thank the Lord that that's one thing my mom taught my at a young age is to cover myself up and teaching me to be modest. As the scriptures says my Body is the Temple of the HOly Spirit so I can't just flaunt myself around like a hooker!.. i'm married with 2 young girls and plan on teaching them the same thing! Amen! Preach it, brother! I am a Christ-following, college-age female and I am absolutely disgusted with some of what I see worn to church by young ladies. Church should be the place of least temptation-I shouldn't see as much (or more!) than what I see on campus. I've read a quote that says "Don't distract him with the bow if he's not allowed to unwrap the present!" We live in a culture where its normal and expected for men to lust, which is bad. And women who wear less tend to do so to be desired by men.

God's been working on my heart in terms of modesty.. its not that I was dressing super low or super tight, but I realized that God wants more from us than just bare minimum... And so I'm really glad to hear guys taking a stand, women don't always listen to other women.... Well, I understand what blackras is saying but I think it's a bit misguided. Why is he asking us women to "help a brotha" out when he should be praying and leaning on the Lord for guidance re: selsf control regarding issues of lustful thoughts. Men need to take personal responsibility in this area rather than faulting women for their attire. Yes, women should dress modestly, but that modesty should be for the glory of God, and not because some fellow doesn't want to exercise self-control.

Sure, but in general men are more visual then women. Not all but in general. That's not an excuse but if I was a woman, I wouldn't go to the beach at all. Because most men have their shirts off there. I know I wouldn't go to a beach where women had their chest showing.
