  • Very nice instruction!

  • Nice job mate. Good description(s) of the process. Cheers.

  • Spraying red with a white car in the garage? Ballsy lol, I wouldnt do it.

  • May I apologise on the behalf of all the normal English people for the moronic comments left by the other so called English residents like Josh and Darren . They are whats known over here as Chavs, a rapidly breeding under class that uses a loose form of patriotism to take away the pain of dragging their knuckles along the ground and walking into walls.Rather than post replies on here they would rather send personal insult private messages when I show their true colours.

  • HI, DO YOU SAND THE BASE COAT TO THAN PUT THE CLEAR ON, OR JUST PUT THE CLEAR ON IT, THANKS LIKE THE VIDEOS

  • @pops67z dont sand the base coat unless you want scratches in the finish

  • show us the fridge finished

  • HI, nice video. what compressor size do you recommend for light duty?, say, not for spraying a whole car, touchups, spot repairs 2 or 3 panels tops.

  • FIRE THE CAMERA PERSON ! SLOW DOWN ! STOP MUTTERING !

  • hey, i got a few questions. im thinking i will use a single stage urethatne for my bike.1) do i still need clear coats for that?) !)how many primer coats would you recomend?, what coats do i have to sand before going to the next coat(primer, color and clear)

i would a ppreciate your help

    thanks

  • @perroxbatakkka single stage urethane to my knowledge does not need clear coat

2 to 3 coats of primer & when fully dry, wet sanded with 600 or 800 grit . dont sand the colour just spray 2- 3 coats with the recommended drying time in between Good luck Restolad

  • @restolad Oh man you have no idea how much you have helped me with this, i just could not find the aswers anywhere else

    thanks a lot

  • I was surprised to see you spraying without all a full air fed system this is 2 pak has isocyanate in it and people think its completely fine to spray at home or in the garage. peoples immune systems are all different to this and people have died after onyl a very short period spraying with it.

  • I like to wet sand and polish my clearcoat the next day while its still relatively soft. Its much less work than doing two weeks later when its rock hard

  • ive been waiting for years to find you and your advice. answered about 20 questions in 2 videos, good man

  • Metallics are bum to spray :( Wait is the key word

  • question what cause's orange peel?

  • @TheBucksatan Hi TheBucksatan. when the paint is to thick or sprayed to heavy, the paint surface looks like the skin of a orange (fruit) not smooth. this happens cause of large spray droplets sitting side by side. a undesirable spray finish. chow Restolad

  • @restolad oh ok I see this makes sense so paint should be thin not too thick or sprayed to close either, wish you was in the usa I would drop u my el camino for a complete paint job since your a pro thanks.

  • Keep up the good work mate

  • britian wasn't always metric!!

  • Hey whenever i spray the roofs of cars i get really uneven color and what ive come to know as dry spray lines, do you know any techniques to stop this happening?

  • I like it. nothing like driving a rusted out truck and grabbing

    a beer from a cherry'd out fridge

  • you are doing a good job, but wat if you want a mirror like finnish like we have at auto m.wbody.com i guess we r going for a colour sand job ,if you paint in that conditions your asking for trouble.

  • thanks for the tips mate :)

  • can i clear straight over gloss 2k or should i sand the gloss off

  • to eliminate stripe (edge-step) yes sand edge with 1000 just so the hig spot is gone. you tape one hour after hot-air dry The Trick is after good 2 coats base tape the design and paint 2 coats this will leave a edge so after dry, tape the design in reverse (taping the desig itself. so to even out the paint with 2 coats outside the graphic . for total of [4 coats (base(ouside graphic(4 coats inside Graphic)]this will even out the line. you can block it flat with 1200 and clear...

  • Hi, great video, much better than just watching somebody in a spray booth. I'd like to try painting my dragster, but would like to put a stripe on it too. Can you tell me how to handle the line that I expect will occur at the stripe edge? can it be sanded out prior to clear coating? If so, how long should i wait to sand, and then clear afterwards? Thanks for sharing.

  • @dottesahc ya cant sand the base coat - most stripe lines have a small step, or are covered with a pinstripe

    separating the colors Restolad

  • I notice people talking about dry time, regular dry time to handle with most urethane high solid clears here is about six to eight hours but if you add an accelerator I've been able to cut that down to two hours when air temp and humidity are right. How about where you are?

  • Spraying is like any other thing in life, there is no absolute right or wrong. I would never spray like you did, nor would I let my first coat of clear dry enough to touch. Every product I have used is very much a wet on wet. But I am from Canada and products could be different where you are. I always say if it turns out good and lasts then be happy with the way you did it. Keep the vids coming. Jay from PEI Canada. 20 plus years in the trade.

  • honestly! everyone has their own way of painting cars so to all the punks who like to down this guy... get a life man... he is doing a great job and it works for him. If "you" have a special way of doing things; great! so why the hell are you watching videos of "how to paint" and trying to down him. I found this video to be helpful and obviously we could all use some help if we are watching these kinds of videos... I

  • Great information, just touched up some panels on my car, which have come up great

  • Re: Preparing base coat for clear coat. Am I right that base coat does NOT need to be roughened for the clear coat to adhere? You can lay your clear coat right over a dried base coat? Thanks so much for your expertise.

  • Excellent end result.Nice video. please turn music off next time. What pressure is your spray gun working at when spraying clear coats or varnish?? Excellent garage .Thanx man keep posting.

  • Can I have a beer from your fridge? XD

    Good video, by the way.

  • after you wet sand with 1500 ,do you have to spray one more clear on it?

  • @haist82 No. You do the 3 coats of clear. Let it COMPLETELY dry. Then wet sand and polish. After wet sanding, you should polish with a coarse compound, then a fine compound. Don't sand and polish clear coat unless it is 100% dried. Clear coat shrinks as it dries, so if you sand/polish before it's finished shrinking you won't get a good high gloss surface.

  • @asdf898 and it is completely dry in 24 hours correct?

  • @haist82 How quickly the urethane paint dries depends on the air temperature and humidity. At 25 degreesC 65% humidity, it would probably take 48 hours before it's 90% dried. At ambient temp, it can take 3-6 weeks to dry 100%. The best way is to paint at 20-25 degreesC, leave 15-24 hours, and then force dry to 100% at 40-60 degreesC for 40-80 minutes. If for whatever reason you can't bake the item you paint, best to leave it for at least 48 hours before sanding and polishing.

  • @asdf898 thank you much man for your help!!

  • I have all of the panels off of my motorcycle, and putting the last coat of base coat on now. It came out really nice. Clear coat going on a little bit later. Please tell me, how long I must wait before reinstalling panels onto the bike?

  • Victord If you have good warm weather I'd wait 2 days - touch dry is overnight, so just be gentle at assembly time

  • very helpful

  • well, I would like to know the truth and some important info you left out. the Ed Hubbs "Painting and clearcoating a car" video says to do the exact opposite of what you have done. They say to lay down a heavy 1st coat of base, overlapped at 75%. who is right. Also, did you sand between layers of clear? And , most importantly, what air pressure are you running to the tip of the gun as it sprays/ I have heard a large range. Please respond, I need your help.

  • @62imperial62 if you have a spray booth or perfect ambient temperature u can lay down all your as thick as your heart desires !!!! myself and most of my subscribers are in the garage at home, so i teach what works

in that environment, follow ED's advice he has more painting experience . Restolad

  • @62imperial62 1st of all you never sand after you put the base coat on , 2nd you never lay the 1st coat on heavy ! start out with a light coat , 2nd coat a little more and so on "about 3 coats" next step is the clear this is where you will fuck it all up and make a mess ! best thing to do is let someone do it for you !

  • Finally the information I really need. There are lots of videos out there but they always seem to leave this information out. Tomorrow I'm entering the world of home painting. My 2003 BMW K1200GT motorcycle is all prepped and ready! Thanks for the best video Sting. ;)

  • that looks nice, and 20 degrees C is about 69-70 degrees F. 21 C is 72 F, its late and i do not feel like doing the math to be perfectly accurate

  • Incredibly Informative Mate!.... I'm from America, so I don't think I can use that word.

  • Thanks for the video, it has helped me with some tips. Just a question, on the final base coat where you sanded the imperfections out with 1500, did you just clear straight over that? do you see any scratches at all?

  • @pedrotski2007 yes clearcoat imperfections 15020 grit with the prepsol then cleared over that

you cant see the spot repair . Restolad

  • @restolad thanks mate!

  • whats the gun your using there ?

  • You would make a good mid school practician/teacher ... the explanation is pure and simple ... nothing to fancy .... very select ... easy to comprehend ... good job

  • so is this basecoat clearcoat the same as the 2 pak paint over here in aus?

great vids by the way man :)

  • @1234Guitarman1234 Clearcoat comes in 2K (2 part or "2 pak") or 1K (one part) all over the world (including Australia). Basecoat is the paint that the clearcoat is going on top of, to protect, it is not part of the clearcoat. Painters usually say basecoat/clearcoat because most of the time clearcoat is applied over a basecoat. This video applies to 2K or 1K clearcoat but restolad does have a video specifically on 2K clear where he shows the mixing of the clear + hardener + reducer/thinner.

  • @PiotrThePrimate thanks man :) appreciate it .

  • good vid but watch out for that overspray

    i see ur white van

  • YOUR OLD FASHION MATE. YOU CANT EVEN SPRAY A FRIDGE DOOR LYING FLAT AND THEN GETTING A RUN. YOUR 15 YEARS BEHIND MATE. YOUR NOT REALLY A PRO ... ARE YOU....YOU WOULD OF BEEN USING WATERBASE AS WE DO IN THE UK . AS WE HAVE BEEN DOING FOR 15 YEARS. YOUR NOT A PRO NOW ARE YOU.... COME ON , DONT BE SHY , TELL THE WORLD THAT YOUR A FAKE.

  • @joshjazant3

Djeezus leave the guy alone will you .... what the fuck kind of a comment is this ....

you missing something in RL bro ? like a pad on the back sometimes or something ? that why you need togo crackup other people cause they are "old fashion" ? old fashion is still the building block of modern fashion you dumbass ... and if you watch the video again maybe youd notice that hes sayin its a BASIC UNDERSTANDING OF HOW TO SPRAY PAINT WITH CLEAR COAT... ignorance of some peeps .. OMFG

  • @joshjazant3 Fuck, what an amazingly dickheaded comment expressed in bad English (in all upper case). A true exemplar of YT dickheadedness. "Your" and "you're" (contraction of "you are") are two different words. Your first sentence contains two mistakes -- a four word sentence with two spelling/grammar errors and you are from the UK where English is the first language! You've told the world you're a dickhead quite effectively, without any shyness. Your're not really a pro in English are you?

  • @joshjazant3 spot on pal, couldnt have put it any better myself. you tube is full of clowns like this guy, talking about stuff they know nothing about. its usually some idiot of an american, although you kind of expect it from them.

  • @joshjazant3 this guy is painting at home....have you ever tried to paint waterbase at home in UK? Unless you live in a wind tunnel and decide to paint on the one day of the year it gets above 10 c you is gonna struggle....innit?

  • great vid mate!

  • Hey man, what kind of spray gunis that? Also what compressor are you using? Thanks

    -NOS

  • SO I WAIT UNTILL THE BASECOAT IS FULLY DRY THEN SPRAY IT OVER WITH CLEAR COAT. IF I SPRAY THE WAY YOU TELL ME THE CLEAR COTE SHOULD NOT COME OFF WHEN I PRESURE WASH THE PANEL.

    THANKS

  • @HAM34H correct but give the panel a couple of months to fully cure, before pressure washing . Restolad

  • HELLO. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHEN I SPRAY A CAR WITH BASECOAT DO I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE BASECOATE IS DRY TO SPRAY THE CLEAR COAT OR DO I SPRAY THE CLEAR COAT WHILE THE BASECOAT IS STILL A BIT STICKEY.

THANKS. LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR REPLY

  • HAM34H most clear coat peals off, because the base coat underneath was not left to dry.

the science is when paint drys it is giving of vapors - so spraying clear coat on a wet base usually results in lift & pealing off the panel Restolad.

  • @restolad can i use any can of paint hardener with my clear

  • @djtrill100 No, you should only use the hardener that is intended for the clear. Hardener formulations vary from manufacturer-to-manufacturer and there are even various formulations for different ambient temperatures and levels of humidity (typically designated "slow", "normal"/"medium", "fast") from the same manufacturer. Match your hardener with your clear and follow the mixing instructions closely.

  • @restolad so it means that base coats need to dry first and the after you may now spray the clear coat?is that right?thanks!

  • @HAM34H Yes the basecoat MUST be dry before you apply the clearcoat else the VOCs in the basecoat will cause the clearcoat to delaminate i.e. it will not stick and will bubble and peel.

  • What, the respirator is full of cyanide?

  • @abysss24 Fuck, why do spray painting videos attract retards? If you clean the shit out of your ears and listen to what the man is saying you'll hear that he says that 2K clearcoat contains isocyanate (specifically the hardener contains isocyanate) and that for the sake of your health you should use a respirator with charcoal filters. In your case though -- for the sake of the gene pool -- I'd recommend spraying 2K clear without any protection. Just go for it, spray it in your bedroom.

  • @PiotrThePrimate : thanks, wise words my friend.

  • @PiotrThePrimate HAHAHA dude your 2k clear post made me laugh so hard!!

  • @SprntrlDeathNinja. Hi, there is a few ways that you can go. Spray two coats and wet sand it all with a block and P1000 and then spray third coat. Or, spray two coats and then a third coat that has 30% thinner in.

  • Hi there, Great video. I just wanted to know what metatllic paint did you use? Do you have the paint code?

  • keep up good vids man!

  • Nice video mate !

  • Thanks for the tips. id rather walk away for a hour like you said as weather is cold and damp here in the UK

  • loved the way you went over things,fantastic...

I have a question if you dont mind...If i want to repaint my spoilers which are painted in a pearl with a clear coat, how can i primer them first.what are the steps?

  • Thanks for sharing the little tips that you have learned over the years. Nothing beats experience as a teacher. This Texan has enjoyed your videos and your personality.

  • Gidday mate, see the moaning poms are back, (darrenn438). Anyway have you a suggestion re an HLVP gun. Checked out SuperCheap, price was good but would I end up with super nasty?. I need to re clearcoat the wifes Honda, (yeah, its blue) on the roof and bonnet, being Kiwi we will DIY. Cheers Rob.

  • Walk away for an hour! where does this clown work?? im a spray painter for a living and i dont agree with much this guy is talking about. There is no way this guy is a pro.

  • @darrenn438 Wha the fuck is wrong with you mate? Can't you see that he is spraying in his home garage? If you were blind and could only hear the audio your comment would make sense.

  • hes still talking nonsence, if he doesnt know what hes talking about,he shouldnt be making a video of himself. obviously you dont know much either if you believe this guy is for real.

  • @darrenn438 Rather than hiss and moan like an old tart why don't you make an instructional video that shows us the correct way to apply a clear coat? That would achieve at least three things: (1) it would show-up restolad; (2) it would substantiate your claim to expertise in the field; (3) it would add to the useful content on YT. I would subscribe to you if you did that and so would others.

  • @darrenn438 dear Darren , in answer to your reply to me, IF YOU CAN TEAR YOURSELF AWAY FROM YOUR THAILAND LADYBOY VIDEOS FOR A MINUTE AND LOOK AT MINE YOU WILL REALISE I AM NOT A DUMB AMERICAN AS YOU CALL ME, BUT A DUMB ENGLISHMAN, SO COME OVER AND "KNOB" ME WHENEVER YOU LIKE

  • @darrenn438 he's not doing it at work you knob....different conditions require different methods, Im no pro but even I know that. Heated booth with good airflow would be totally different

  • Comment removed

  • Where do you get your clearcoat? What exactly do I look for when buying some to shoot? Thanks [:

  • @roulettered56 if your talking about poorly covered area there is not enough base in that certain area repriming is not required as a matter of fact it will cause more problems such as primer over spray going across what ever you are painting which means more material is need to cover so just sand the panel back down after clear has flashed for 24 hours with 800-1000 grit wet and repaint area with 2-3 more coats wait 15 between all coats do not wait 24hours to clear it will not stick to base

  • please tell me y your garage is bigger than my house. lol.

  • Loved the video m8. I had a bleed in my metallic base coat, If I sand just the bleed out will I need another coat of base or can I put clear onto the sanded base? I've heard some say you need to sand the base for the clear to stick but others say this will haze/dull the color coat.

    Look forward to your help

  • @roulettered56 I would repair the bleed with a spot blend , including primer then base then clear to repair .possibly clear coating the whole panel for long lasting integrity. jimmo4life has a excellent lesson on blending here on you tube

  • @roulettered56 u would have to sand it with 1000grit or 800grit use a small soft block the apply a light coat of base then wait 10 mins the follow it with another mid coat of base.. then your ready for clear.. IF u sand the base u do not want to clear cause those scratches will be visible when u clear it u have apply more base then clear

  • Excellent vid and some really useful tips. Thanks Mate.

  • Great video, I learned more in just a few minutes than I have any where else. Thank you.

  • I've learnt a lot from this, thanks for posting it.

  • Hello there, great video , im a kiwi myself and im painting a 67 chevy caprice, i have painted on a metalic base coat and was wondering about mixing in the clear coat with the last few coats of base coat ? should i do this or should i just do a few coats of clear at the end, by the way the paint for the car is acrylic, any advice would be great , Thanks in advance for any reply, Cheers, Ray.

  • @MrPiper60 your on to it I still a big fan of lacquer (dulon system ) yes as far as i know . for the top end lacquer jobs, you could add some colour into the clear coat , and then may be the last coat straight clear , this achieves a clear coat that looks like it is melted thru in to the colour , very cool finish

  • @restolad hey, can you use a 2k basecoat over a 1k primer? and when respraying can i just sand back the factory clear to the factory bc and put 2k base ontop of that?

  • @restolad hey restolad, i just wanted to ask for your input on somting. im painting my mates car in a 2pac direct gloss cv black (ontop of 1k primer filler) and i just wanted to ask your opinion as to what i should do between coats (2 coats)... should i let it dry sand it and apply another coat, just buff between, spray right over the top or spray it while the first coat is still abit wet? cheers from rotorua :)

  • great vid! i painted my file cabinet to get rid of that ugly tan to a nice metalic teal haha!

  • Bravo, mate.

  • Ah a fellow Kiwi, Really good information, I am starting out with custom painting, the art side of things is not a problem as I have been an artist my whole life, It is the clearcoat I am having trouble with, I am mixing it by label instructions and setting the gun at the correct psi but have probs with orange peel, any idea's? I can't market my airbrushing until I sort this out. I'm from Palmerston Nth and live in Perth W.A. Where in NZ are you?

  • @starrsworldv2 hi there, i hope you've sorted everything by now but,if you're still getting orange peel in your clear coat,i thin it slightly more and it goes on smoother, failing that if when the clearcoat has cured it's still orange peely, flat it (wet sand) it down with 1500 grit wet n dry paper used on a block and polish back up with a compound polish (farecla g3,g6 or 3m's fastcut(my fav)) using a small machine polisher,or a backing pad and head in a slow speed drill and plenty of water.

    Dan.

  • Love Your videos. learned a great deal from u.

Would you possibly make a Video on how to adjust a spray gun.

air pressure, air volume, paint and fan adjustments, maybe some

test pattern on some scrap paper with different pattern to show for example to much air, not enough air, to much paint, to little paint.

different paint tip 1.3 vs 1.4. any spray gun adjustment tip would be great.

Thank you and please keep up the great videos.

  • very interesting video but i want to know my clear coat still get finger prints by hard press even after12 days. what could be the reason if it is due to less hardener mixing

  • Restolad you are a legend; thanks so much for definately the best spray painting tutorial on youtube, I would assume that these rules would apply for a car aswell wouldnt they?

  • Why do all Aussies have high voices ?

  • @peedutt ..??? Restolad is a proud Kiwi New Zealander, and doing a great job of it too.

  • @Kaegis cheers my man i am a proud to be a kiwi. i love the people and our culture

  • @peedutt They don't and he isn't an Aussie.

  • Hi restolad, really good videos you just don't make enough! Film that Mazda respray.

What mask have you got there, Seems to be conflicting advice as to whether you need a full air fed mask or a 3M type charcoal, I am guessing full face at all times, but what is your advice? Thanks and please keep filming!

  • @jdean399 -- American standard is the charcoal canister filter on full face , every one in a booth in New Zealand uses a air fed , if i spray lacquer its a half mask with the soft charcoal filters . glad u like the tutorials. restolad

  • Thanks for all the great information. As an amateur I needed the the lesson/motivation to successfully learn and paint the hood/roof of my car. Your right I did receive a lot of satisfaction doing it my self. I obeyed the time limits but I need to rematch your videos and pay attention to when you stress gun position and distance. I had to wet sand Orange Peel, does holding the gun to far away cause this? Like your vid's on fillerless dent repair, thanks for the help/tips.

  • @MrHoneydawg1 typo rewatch your videos

  • very very good tip, could do with more as i`m about to spray my first car

  • Thanks a million for posting this video. It had allot of info in there that (like you say) they're not sharing out there. I have been worried about the proper amount of time between coats for fear that the next coat will not stick if I wait too long, etc. Your explanation clears up my concerns. Thanks!

  • hey restolad :) youve probably seen my other comment anyways

im pretty new to bodywork /spraying/panel beating etc.and im doing a 2year mechanics and body repair course . im interested in getting a compressor and spray gun and getting some sort of small set up on the go so i can practice alot :)

would you be able to reccomend a gun ? and the essentials that i will need to start .

btw awesome vids very helpful and very much appreciated :)

  • thankyou for clearly explaining. I've just metallic finished a classic mini. I put 4-5 coats on. it looked very even i was really pleased. i then put 3 coat s of clear coat on. but when i look at it it looks a little patchy although i know it has had plenty o f coatings. do yo think it is the metallic chips sitting funny?

  • What compressor are you using with your HVLP guns? Is there a small one that you would recommend for at home use? Also, for clear sanding, I heard you mention 1500 grit...would 2000 grit do well also?

  • Love the tips. VERY helpful. Keep it up.

  • Thanks Chief

  • using this tutorial i painted a renault 5 bodykit this weel.. results are amazing.. i used a metalic grey with a clear and it went on great.

One question, in the base coat i had a chunk of paint spit out the gun, i didnt notice it and therefore went ahead with 3 coats of lacquer, now my question is would i get away with flatting it out with some 2000, and brushing a very small amount of lacquer over the top or somthing?, if not whats the best way of dealing with it?.

  • good work djinuk . I would wet sand out that blemish, with 600-8000 grit keeping the sanded area reasonably small then then using a fresh mix of clear, spray the sanded area.

    restolad

  • yea nice video i am new to base/clear coat but i have painted single stage and have knack to guyn what nozzle should i be using for base/clear and i have one of these 3 gun sets hvlp do you think i should go out and buy like say a sata gun to paint my prize possession which is my vette i already have the paint its deltron 2000 and i have euro clear for the clear tell me what you think honestly before i make mistakes i am open minded and wiill listen and thanks for ur video tty

  • shredder40 my primeing gun is a wellmade brand hvlp with a 1.8 tip I use a 1.4 tiphvlp for base and clear coating, this gun has no known brand name ,

    it works fine,

if i was in a spray booth every day ,then i would be useing devilbiss

or sata .top of the line guns

    Restolad

  • amazing video, really enjoy it, im learning to spray etc now, just gota pair of renault 5 gt turbo bumpers to spray that have a lot of grills etc, im just worried about how to tackle the more intricate areas whilst still getting a uniform appearance on the full peice, im presuming i need to tackle them in the first couple of coats.

I also have some trouble with my gun , any ideas if theres a decent gun setting up tutorial anywhere?

  • I really like the vid u put on thanx! I am painting plastic motorcycle fairings these are very flexible should I use plastic bumper primer

  • Hey there man,you mention in the video that you primed the panel with u-pol 2k primer.is it 20-20,20-21 or 20-25 primer you use?thanks

  • Love ur vids! They will help me when im gonna start restoring my vespa from 1958. The sound keeps disappearing, maby a finger on the mic? :)

  • thanks mate.......give yourself a pat on the back.........chiko

  • my car was white but i want to change it to blue, do i have do sand the whole car an what type of sandpaper i'm gonna use? an do i have to primer the whole car before i paint it or only the part i repair? i never do panel beater before but i watch so many video on youtube an make me think to try it in my own car, can you help me please, cheers

  • love it

  • nice one fella, loads of great tips for us newbies, clearly explained, easy to follow, your the man!

  • alot easier to lay down nice clear on a horizontal part as opposed to a vertical part.

  • Hey restolad. Like ya work. Would you be able to do another video, basically what you just did, but as if it were a "Hotrod" emphasising on "after coat prep" on each coat from start to finish. If so, would be awesome as. Cheers mate.

  • Kaegis I am currently respraying a Mazda miata, its 22 years old now, not a hot rod but a classic. will that do ????? could start filming

  • Hi Mate. Yea, why not start filming hey, would be good to see some of the "how to's" on a professional high class paint job. Im pretty sure others would be interested as well, and it would really compliment your paint series. Cheers mate.

  • great vid, thanks for the upload

  • isnt 2k ment to be off the gun with no polishing? to get rid of the orange peel...

  • @burgz666 na man you normaly have to match the same texture as the factory finish.

if its a hot rod or somthin special , you can cut it smooth as glass

there are some videos on you tub were guys are cutting off the factory orange peal LOL

  • This is really good stuff. Down to earth bloke just saying how it is.. keep it coming please

  • cool stuff, how do you keep the dust away when i paint something it catches a lot of dust when in second or third coat

  • Hey there, I have a plastic ground sheet, stretched across the shed rafters. i hose out the garage floor, and doors. I have a house-hold fan blowing over the work the whole time. Video demonstrates spot repair during base coat. Block and polish clear coat when finished.

  • Hey good stuff man:)

  • hey Bazz nice thank you im learning alot keap it up i just sprayed my car green a week ago

  • Now I know why ferrari's are painted with CnC machines... :S Perfect angles and distances. Hmm

  • Yea so true. all the assembly lines use , robots with perfect programed settings,

I have seen some new cars, with blotchy mica on some panels, cause robots cant see when a spray nozzel is dirty, or there is a problem with the paint flow.

    Ha LOL.

  • The spray that come out of these machines was like a whirlwind. It has two nozzles that spin around on a small axis. The cars are all done with water based paint. If I remember rightly they bake the paint after to make it set faster.

  • @restolad yeah ,I have seen finishes like that too, especially on chevrolet(Daewoo),I have seen so many that I think it became a rule for them LOL

  • Love your videos resto!
