Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian script is still owned by The Geffen Film Company and it will likely never get made. You really couldn't do it now anyway. Winona is too old for the role, and the only way they could make it would be to totally recast it.

Hell yah, the best Tim Burton movie for originality and concept. The sequel should be directed by Terry Gilliam , produced by Burton, and co/star the surviving members of Monty Python.
Well if they are going to do the sequel, they should focus more on beetlejuice and the "after life" coz Winona Ryder is kind of too old to play the part of teenage Lydia. @Wilcox3 I say only make another one if they get a good scriptwriter and someone who's a big fan of the first film. Too many bad sequels to great films have been made already.
Also, I think Keaton as Beetlejuice is the only actor/character from the first film who should come back, or perhaps him and the old woman who was the head of Netherworld. The rest should be a completely new cast of characters.

Well if they are going to do the sequel, they should focus more on beetlejuice and the "after life" coz Winona Ryder is kind of too old to play the part of teenage Lydia. Michael could manage with all the make up and everything in playing the cheerful dead guy. Maybe they could expand the beetlejuice universe and explain if there are different lvls to afterlife and stuff like that. Tim Burton should direct it ofc.

I'll admit, I liked Keaton in Jack Frost more than I liked Johnny Depp in Pirates, Alice, Secret Window, or much of anything else.
Keaton's got incredible charisma and onscreen presence.

Second, Pirates and Secret Window is NOT from Tim Burton, so don't name that in your list.
Third, it just shows how many faith Tim has in Johnny. You can see Johnny does bring a great performance, Tim sees that too.
Fourth: You're not gay if you always chose the same person to do the main characters in your movies.
Fifth: Johnny must be good, 'cause otherwise he wouldn't be asked by so many directors :).

Tim Burton just has a great sense of taste with actors and actresses. There isn't anybody I would really like to 'drop' from his movies. He just looks at actors in a critic way, and that is good. And it's not like he always used Depp in his movies after 'Edward Scissorhands'. He just looks at someone and thinks: Hmm... Do I need this guy/woman?

I would REALLY love to see a Beetlejuice 2...except maybe not with the whole ORIGINAL Beetlejuice goes Hawaiian script. They could totally set it in the future when Lydia is older..maybe they could make the Maitlands younger? Probably not. Keaton will always be the best candidate for Beetlejuice. Burton should stop putting it off and make it before everyone gets too old >_< I'm sure it would be a big hit if it's done correctly..

Tim Burton and Keaton have to re united and pick this one up. I bet Burton wouldnt want a sequel to end on a bad note and I can see why, but I would just love a sequel. Keaton is a legendary actor and it would be great to see him reprise one of his best characters of all time.

For what I just wrote, that is why they didn't go through with a sequel.
