@Uploading,Thanks for uploading the music of this legendary guitarist. But, I fell sorry that he can not enter into his own country, because he is banded from entering to his beloved country like those other Great Eritreans who have a different opinion.
In Eritrea, it's only Issayas Afewerqi who is allowed to speak & "think" for Eritreans, as if that we don't have any Intellectuals.
May God bring end to the life of the last dictator on Earth.
Great Music!! He is my favourite Eritrean guitarist. There is Tekle "Hwket" Adhanom and everybody else.
I always wanted to know if he was still playing. No one seemed to know. But recently, somehow I stumbled into his pictures on facebook. They were from 2009 when he toured Eritrea with some other musicians/singers. In one of the pictures, he was on stage playing what looked like an Electro-acoustic Epiphone guitar.
For anyone that doesn't know.... ppl don't love this video because of the fighting. They love the the meaning behind the fight. The fight for liberty and justice by the Eritrean population at a time when the world was silent about the atrocities committed against Eritreans by the brutal Ethiopian dictator, Mengistu Haile Mariam. This music video praises the braveness and selflessness of freedom fighters (Tegaldelti) that fought long and hard to achieve liberation for Eritreans.
Tekle (Hiwket) Adhanom is a giant guitar player, some of his best work can be found in the Ethiopique series, Hiwket inspired so many guitar players in Ethiopia, one of them without a doubt is the legend Selam Seyoum who inspired almost every guitar player in Ethiopia. Hiwket style was more into the Shaft and James brown. but he also played some serious Habesha blues and Jazz. He used to live in Milan, but he moved to Germany years ago.
Tekle "hiwket" he's first-class..spectacular..the song reminds me early 90's...big fun of Tekle hope we will listen to ur melody..composition rapidly "Kama Kawaida"
Yeah! Tekle "Huwket" is a real guitar wizard. He was one of a very few Africans who played like Jimi Hendirx and B.B. King in the early 70's. You can hear his amazing guitar work on funky/jazzy licks in most of the Ethiopiques series of Mulatu Astatique, Alemayehu Eshete, etc. I think he lives now in Germany. I'm not so sure if he still plays.
Amche i'll tell him, but never grow up in dirty addis streets. u seem to have identity probleme by brother. When u r with us u say u r Eritrean with ethio u r Ethiopian right?
lol, poor u. They kicked your ass and your rich propety cuz u Eri and you are still support them. So brother go to eri embassy and return back your eri pass. we don't need ppl like you.

yes Woyane took our properties b/c their agame nature, but Isayas took our dear young brothers and sisters to slavery. No one wants to live in Eritrea, even you (supporter of eritrean govern't) are living in Europe. you see, I always tell the truth my brother.
You're a pervert fag! For you a trained army is an army wearing a sophisticated gadgets with heavy load. For us it was the determination and being selfless that mattered. How come a 'horribly trained army' defeats first a US backed then Soviet/Cuba backed biggest army in Africa? Read about Eritrean freedom fighters on the net before you put your dirty feet on your mouth

What does being a "pervert" or a "fag" have to do with anything? And beating another horribly trained army doesn't really impress me, no matter who "backed" them. And no, for me a trained army has nothing to do with "gadgets" it has to do with actual training. Oh and I know a lot about this war, wasn't exactly a desiceve vitory if you ask me... Don't you still pay the highest gas prices in the world and have the most government censorship in the world? Yeah sounds about right.
Also, your "great victory" stopped Ethiopians from using your ports really hurting your already crappy economy. Political parties have to be approved by the ruling party. I could go on and on dude. But I'll stick to my main point, the army is poorly trained. Period.
If the end product of training is the killing of civilians in a wedding party, death by friendly fire and collateral damage. Then yes, this is a badly trained army. FYO this is the guerilla force that achieved independance AGAINST ALL ODDS. This is a force that out smarted American, Soviet, Cuban and other trained miltary advisors.
We are proud of our heroes nothing will change that. It might not be Hollywood enough for some, but we still love and admire them.
OMG! Tekle is really a guitar maestro. What an amazing guitar licks and riffs. Yes, the song (both it's lyrics and music) is sweet and very touching. "Tegadalay niay zeybil ni Hizbey behalay" Indeed they were selfless. Thanks nogodaberki!
Eritreans are always known for their Guitar talent but this guy is just amazing... sound like Jimmy
