The single most best album to fall asleep too at night. i play this almost every night when i go to bed, either cuz i love the train of thought it brings me or the wonderful dreams it helps me slip into. this is probably in my opinion one of the best most relaxing albums. great memories and great times nodding the fuck out to this masterpiece. i wish i had a few more albums likee this.
Can anybody give me names of more opeth songs like this? I'm personally not into the Death Metal stuff they do, but this is amazing. So far i know of Burden and this. Thanks.
Opeth has been one of those bands I have had the pleasure of seeing on more than one occasion, and has been one of the most influential bands I've listened to ever since being introduced to them in 2001 with the release of Blackwater Park. Now hearing Heritage, I realize that they've grown as a band and as individual musicians even as the line up changes from time to time. I sense a lot of Damnation in Heritage and for me, it was refreshing to not hear a single growl in either albums.
@MushroomMachineHead I know exactly what you mean. Everyone makes this band out to be the greatest ever. I've listened to a lot of their songs, and I have yet to find anything mind blowing.
@SycamoreHill14 you have to listen to the metaphorical lyrics tied beautifully together, the godly voice of Akerfeldt in death growls and clean vocals. The complex and beautiful instrumentals. All put together makes a masterpiece. Its like Beethoven, each person connects to certain aspects of the symphony but put it all together and you create something beautiful.
@MushroomMachineHead learn how to fucking spell you dumbass. if you don't like it, don't fucking listen to it!!! is it really that hard of a concept??
@MushroomMachineHead You cant even spell... Atleast a bunch of metal heads can actually spell the word "some" while you cannot even spell the word "come". You are the type of person that gives slipknot a bad name in the first place. Go ahead and be a maggot and watch how it doesnt phase the intelligence or feelings of your superior freethinkers one bit.
This album brings back memories this was my first Opeth album =)

@ClevelandCaliRyder I don't think that there's a single growl in their new album, Heritage. Might be your cup of tea.

@MushroomMachineHead Just because you can't appreciate bands like Opeth, Jethro Tull, King Crimson and Rush doesn't mean you have to post it here...
