Great! Got a 2002 Laguna with a flickering, but mostly dark display. I read about it in a forum and there was a link to this video. I have to try this!

I repaired my keycard many times now, my 2 buttons key. The 3 buttons one has different technology, however, i can make a video next time it breaks. It is a bit more dificult but it works allright.

OMFG! i fucking love you man! IT WORKS! you are my hero! easy and very fast! can you please make a video about the key cards? i only can open whit one of the cards and close with the other:( the buttons are not working on one of them, and on the other key the buttons turns the red light on wen i cick it but nothing happens, wel if you know a fix please help. I was very impressed how Your video helped me fix the back light in my renault Laguna climatronic. I had never welded anything before and it worked a treat. This is my second Renault Laguna Mark II & neither Backlight worked when I bought them.

At 1:38 on your video you used something on the component, were you removing the old solder or what? What were you doing there? sorry there is no commentary or sound on your video.

remove console, take off outer cover, then inner cover. Find the resistor marked '101' and resolder dry joints either side of this resistor.

no, there is no sound

resistor is not defect. just poor welded from factory and usually cracks. you only need to weld it right and the light is on again.

works for Laguna and also Vel Satis

What exactly did he do?

he welded resistance 104 which is badly welded in the factory so this can crack and that is why the light goes out. if the weld is solid then the light works again.

no, delete the old/defect resistor and put a new in.

i think 100 ohm was it, but not sure...

old resistor is good but has no contact.
