  • If were going to start digging in the bible to prove a point.....let's follow all the laws, such as stoning non believers, gays, women who commit adultery,ect...

  • Lev19 YHVH gives instructions Israel Ye shall be holy: for I YHVH your Elohim am holy.He instructs us to honor our parents, don't worship idols, don't steal, don't bear false testimony, never gossip, never endanger your neighbor's life, hate not your brother,You must not eat anything with the blood still in it,don't cut or tattoo. Clearly YHVH instructed Israel to be set-apart from the pagan traditions. We are Israel through the blood of the messiah we have been grafted in.Mat 5:48 be perfect

  • The only time where it says anything is in Leviticus which is Jewish laws, not Christian

  • Leviticus=old covenant

    Jesus Christ= new covenant

so Leviticus isn't of use here

  • God told me getting a tattoo was like , Having a "priceless" one of a kind fine tailored suit, that was designed just for you, and can not be duplicated, and splashing ink all over it , and calling it art, if God wanted me to have a one, I would have been born with one! If you already have them , repent and dont get any more........

  • @ROBBBLOCO Next time G-d talks to you, ask him if you can cut your hair, since Leviticus clearly says you can't cut the hair on the side of your head.

  • Man was created in God's image. Tattoos branded followers of demons and deities and covered, distorted or damaged the natural beauty given to man in God's image. Those who get tattoos today seek to be identified by the unnatural and disobedient and alienated themselves from natural godliness. The tattooed will suffer the physical, emotional, and spiritual scars for the rest of their lives. No Christian pastor should condone and normalize this pagan practice.

  • Apparently pastor mike didn't know that Leviticus was written by Moses and Moses died before the hebrews entered the promise land. Further, lev 19 deals with holiness filled with metaphors about not mixing cultures. Tattoos were common in heathen cultures including Egypt, but forbidden by God. The ten commandments was recently given to the Hebrews, which also forbid idolatry, graven images, and sexual immorality, etc. As is the case today, the heathen of the day were immoral, carnal, offensive

  • I notice he makes references to scriptures but only gives a couple of chapters/verses and the one in Rev isn't related to the topic. Otherwise he's pretty vague. And he ends up saying the Bible says nothing about it. I don't think this is sound Biblical teaching.

  • Thanks Pastor Mike!!

This a great video! I think you're absolutely right!. I agree with every word you said.

I have tattoos and chose the designs purposefully to show I'm a Christian and have a medium to share the Gospel.

I encourage anyone who is doing or wants to do the same!

God loves when we evangelize, worship and praise him. How much more impacting could it be if these things were done not just with our fickle tongues but with a permanently displayed statement of our love of God.

  • IT IS WRONG FOR ANYONE THAT CLAIMS TO BE A CHILD OF GOD TO WANT TO DEFILE THEIR BODY, WHICH IS THE TEMPLE OF GOD !!! ITS NO DIFFERENT THAN PUTTING GARIFFITI ON YOUR CHURCH !!! WAKE UP PEOPLE !!!

  • this guy is full of shit!!! are you going to believe this liar or the word of "GOD" lets see what jesus said about the law."For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished."

Has heaven and earth passed away? i dont think so...Matthew 5:18

  • thanks pastor, i am a filipino, now i now how to depend my faith, thanks a lot!!!!

  • thank you for your words , that helped

  • 0:55 And you honour your body by the fact that more then 60 percent of the USA is to fat!?

  • who cares if they are?

who cares about the bible, maybe you still do but the churches are getting empty. and for a reason! we don't have to believe in god anymore, we are getting closer and closer to be gods ourself!

  • @timen1986 good call moron... that's why Christians make up a third of the world's population... only deluded people like you think that men and women can become gods... figure it out

  • @TheBigred1212

lol, i wrote that 1 year ago... at the time i was reading much about Ray Kurzweil and the things he tries to achieve are great. If you place the becoming a god part in that context it doesn't sound so delusional as you might think... Still, dude... 1 year ago?! You've read your way back through all the comments!?

  • Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

  • Honoring God with your body was a command from Paul to the Corinthians, and it was referring to sexual immorality. Tattoos were seen as immoral back in those days because they would mark their dead with them, practicing pagan tradition.

By your own argument, wouldnt earrings cheapen the body? Or any kind of piercing? You are cutting your own body to look more beautiful.

I am free from the law through Christ. Therefore, it is not the outside body that matters. This body will turn to dust.

  • "On [Jesus'] robe and IMPRINTED ON HIS THIGH He has the name written: 'King of Kings and Lord of Lords.'"

    Revelation 19:16

"Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me."

    Isaiah 49:16

  • Why are you printing on your flesh, and how is it glorifying to God? When I look at those who have these tattoo's it looks replusive and dirty and cheapens the body that was given to you. If you are a believer in Christ and still feel the need to justify your tattoo then you have a problem. Surely you do not wish to fit into the world by marking your bodies in this way, if so, then I would sincerely seek out the Lord and look to please Him only and not your sin nature.

  • Abby, what do you think God is most focused on in a person? Their outward appearance, or their heart? The Bible says otherwise.

1 Samuel 16:7:The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

  • Now, the Bible says to honor the Lord with your body. Some people argue tatoos are against that command, but if God looks on the heart, then it's the heart behind WHY a person is getting a tatoo. Of course some tattoos look bad, but others look beautiful. A tatoo doesn't destroy the body. In fact, people can honor God by putting a cross on themselves or a verse to bring him glory. Isn't that honoring God with your body? How does that worldly when a person is putting a Bible verse on themselves?

  • Thanks for the vid. God bless you.

A lot of legalists love to make issues of the outward appearance; but what about their own hearts? Pride? Legalism? Abuse of scripture? They must be perfect in Christ to have the time to be pointing fingers at others.

If someone's conscience is clear before the Lord, they have no need to listen to these self-appointed speck inspectors. And if their conscience is pricked, it is between them and the Lord, as well.

Too many mini-Holy Spirits running around.

  • Jars of Clay have tatoos

  • good stuff, bro.

    subbed.

  • Tsis man clearly has no understanding of scripture and needs to do more research. The Bible says....Hsa 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.

  • actually no, he's correct. you are too busy looking to point fingers it seems.

  • to abby0campbell and anyone else( man or woman) that wants to talk about Lev 19:28 and say that it proves that tattooing is wrong should look at the verse before (Lev 19:27) that talks about not cutting your hair or shaving your beard. So if its wrong for me to get a tattoo than it is wrong for you to cut your hair or trim your beard . right? like the pastor in this video you have to look at the context. pleas respond!

  • amen to that brother

  • 'nor print any marks upon you', Lev 19:28 This was something that wasn't only done for the dead, this was an idolatrous practice by Gentiles in ancient times to imprint upon themselves the mark of an idol. Why would any thinking person who professes the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour practice such a thing? Isn't this still a practice of conforming to this world and why would a Christian be interested in conforming to this idolatrous practice this world approves of? Rethink this advice please

  • abby,

arent we free from the law bc of Christ? Do you eat pig? According to the same law a pig is an unclean animal and should not be touched. What about rebellion, or lying? Do you keep the Sabbath day holy?

We are no longer bound to the law. We have found freedom in the grace filled life through Christ. Therefore, it is not the action that matters, but the heart behind it. :)

  • amen to that brother

  • I agree with you. i plan to get a scroll with jerimiah 29 11. that verse saved my life. i was at the end and just didnt want to live anymore and read that and it stoped me. and people are telling me that i shouldnt get a christian tattoo becuzz its against God. but now iknow what to tell them. thank you so much ~Austin

  • This is a world system ran by a Fallen Angel. And while we are not to fear this ruler, we are not to create connections with the demons who serve to attack us.

While I believe that the Grace given the Believer surpasses this consequence, the history and purpose of the tattoo is clear.

U seem like a student. Take a little time to research the history of the tattoo. U will see whose realm this belongs to. For the unbeliever, it opens doors to the spirit world. Let us not worry or play with it.

  • Your first statement is that Tatooing is a pagan ritual! As it is. Listen to yourself!

  • He contradicted himself in the begining, and in the end, and throughout the video! lol

  • lordsberg your video is also stupid your the most stupid pastor i have ever heard your a moron shut up.

  • The bible says not to be conformed to the world. I dont care how you justify it God did create you with tattos. It's just another sign of the spiritual influence that Satan has over some people even though they would say they are not under his influence.

  • Amen, you are right on tktt777. May God bless you.

  • Being conformed to this world is a heart issue before the Lord.

By your reasoning, wearing a suit and tie would also be considered to be "conformed to this world".

  • Great video, Pastor Mike. The funny thing is, if someone is willing to condemn tattoos, then they also must condemn make-up on females. It's the same thing if you think about it.

I think God looks at our intent and the condition of our hearts. Many people, in Latin America especially, have tattoos of Jesus and other biblical symbols and they are very beautiful.

  • Shiningcross has a point but if people someone says but the makeup comes off and it doesnt hurt, then say why do they pluck/ whacks their eyebrows and leg hair. That hurts too but they get that done like every month or even less than that tattoo is a one time pain thing. They are all hurting their bodies by doing that so they cant even say that tattoo's are bad because they are not aloud to hurt themselves.

  • You know that I've always wondered that question!!!! I always thought 1 Corinthians 6:19 was always stating that tattoos were wrong. Another thing i find amusing is that I JUST had a dream about getting a tattoo for my mom. I felt so much guilt in Gods eyes, and I was so torn whether or not it was the right way to prove my love.

  • loveablenclassy, if you feel torn about doing it then don't do it. It's the proof that God gave you the ability to see right from wrong. You concience is telling you it's wrong and not Godly. Please don't do it. You will always live with that guilt if you do it.

    Sincerely

    Zanna

  • That is right i think getting tattoo's are not wrong but if God tells you not to then you shouldn't because if his mother is dead and he gets a tattoo then he is following the pagan ritual so then that would be bad. but i think if u just get it becasue u like them and your not getting one that is bad like 666 or a devil on you then you should be fine
