I agree. I would like to quit cigarrettes, because of the ill affects on your health, but the problem is, i enjoy smoking. I am planning to purchase an E-cig because of the lesser health effects because it still allows you to smoke, but without all the health problems. If states banned e-cigs, then why not ban cigarettes also? e-cigs have lesser effects on health, and are a more healthy choice than a normal tobacco cigarette. So why ban something that harms you less than a normal cigarette?

***I agree with you, similar story except im underage, i started sometime when i was 15, at 17 i bought a ecig, and it was a refillable, i refilled it about 5 times, then as i progressively slowed down i quit, and ill tell you, I'VE TRIED so many times to quit, hard to believe, but my parents found out, they bought me the gum, and patches, didn't help at all, then i try the ecig, and today i am smoke free. It seems anything healthy is either misunderstood, or just banned for no reason...***

Kudos to your parents for being savvy enough to know there was a decent product that could work for you and others 100% unlike the drugs,patches,lozenges which the ALA touts and which has only a 2% success rate! The ALA only wants to keep "big Pharma" in business {"BP" funds them} and their products are just as expensive as cigarettes!Really want to quit? Use a decent ecig like an eGo kit.

the voice is what changes with regular cigs first, the vocal cords are very sensitive. I m a singer and i lost for years because of smoking 1.5 octave of notes. i use the e cig and guess what! My voice is back. And not jsut mine, many write the same thing on forums, i try to take care what liquid i use, only vg glycerin, but e cig is not harmful because it would show in the voice, im not a doc, this is just an opinion, thats all.

the fda approves many things every year that results in deaths. how many times do you see a commercial for medications that are being recalled or law suits filed for a medication that has resulted in serious injury or death - I dont know about you but I dont trust the FDA for shit - it doesn't take a genius to figure out they have no clue what they are doing

I got an email from a response to my request that the Bill to outlaw e-cig sales in NY, when I am living actually in CA. Mr. Gottfried Assembly Member of NY is spinning a huge lie about cancer causing ingredients in e-cigarettes. People don't realize that you dont have to be inhaling a chemical "nicotine" when inhaling an e cigarette, I say inhaling because thats what you are doing, Not "Smoking" the word smoking usually involves combustion, or at least it did last time I looked in Websters.Nicotine, which is basically harmless at small doses compared to the thousands of cancer causing chemicals that are added to cigarettes, does not need to be inhaled while inhaling an e cigarette. Sadly, the American Lung Association isn't interested in finding a "cure."

It's sole responsibility is perpetual fund-raising for so-called "cancer research" with hardly an actionable plan outside of Big Phrarma-dominated Chemo, radiation and immune-suppressing drugs.

When the official cure is recognized (not unfairly labeled as fringe or alternative), you won't see the ALA promoting it, that would mean 100's of millions in lost donations and 100's of lost jobs otherwise spreading disinformation

My girlfriend has COPD Emphysema shes on oxygen and if she don't quit smoking she will die. She recently started smoking again and she won't quit. She says it is hard. I don't see the America Lung Association helping her. But when there's a company out there that can help her. The AMA tries to stop it. Hmm they must have a stake in the tobacco companies. They may loose tax revenue. For those out there I'm a non smoker. Instead of banning electronic cigarettes they should ban tobacco cigarettes.

Great info. I've been BUTT free almost 5 mnths. Vaping is the best thing EVER! We all need to do our part to secure our right to vape. I live in MA and and a pack is just about $8. Maybe there are some health risks but 4000+ ingredients in a cigarette. Great thing your doing with the web site! Keep it up and i'll try to do my part.

These e-cigs saved many lives now, including mine. After 38 years trying everything on the market to stop and nothing working finally I stopped because of the e-cigs. If the government cares about the sky rocketing health care costs they bess stop the sale of the real cigs and let the e-cigs take over. Think of all the money we could all save for health care and cigarettes. E-cigs save lives and that's all there is to it. I can finally breath again without wheezing...

The reason it is less expensive to use the electronic cigarette is because it is not taxed to death and of course it cost money to regulate. I agree with Shawn, call your congressman. Thanks for the update Shawn! Your right, it's very important to stay informed...and imperative to be involved. Previous cases (in other states) are what they use, to pass laws in others(like a snowball effect). Since most of us, do not have the monies to hire a lawyer and fight this state to state.
