  • I thought you were mind fucking me for a minute lol!! I support all the digital distribution as long as it is a secondary option if it ever becomes a primary option that is the reason why I did that video, I don't hate digital distribution your thoughts on digital distribution is in the same way as mine mad love for putting this video up man.

  • @TheBendsGaming Thanks man, be sure to check out part to as I explain it a little more in depth. Thanks again!

  • I also dread the day EVERYTHING is digital, but DLC isn't really needed. DLC is just developers and publishers fighting used game sales. If you buy fallout 3 used, Bethesda is going to want you to pay something to getthe full game.Think about back in the PS1, PS2, Gamecube, Dreamcast, N64 andall classicsystems. The entire game came withone purchase even if it took 3 or 4 discs. Also,in the digital only age, if you downloada game like skyrim you would need a lot of memory to store the whole game.

  • @beastlygamer96 Yes, I do remember the good old days when you bought a game, it was a full game. While I agree that some developers today put out half finished games and put out dlc to make more money and fight the used game market. Some games are full experiences and use dlc to add to your experience. Skyrim is the perfect example, the game is insanely massive, so dlc would just add to that. Thanks for your input!

  • i thought the same thing bro. well said.

  • @BradleyVloggery I felt you inside my head, wait that didn't sound right at all! LOL Thanks Brad and I'm glad you understood what I was trying to say. I'm gonna be making a part two explaining it better for those that didn't understand.

  • PointBlank you gained my respect finally someone that isn't a sheep. I was getting pissed off at the fact that they just flip the bird to their subs... I made a video about this since Sunday but never uploaded it because I didn't want to talk about it because I am a strong speaker and people might get offended.

  • @QutaHunter Thanks brotha, when I say the massive amounts of these videos, I had to question some of them. I'll be making a part 2, because apparently some of the people couldn't understand what I was trying to convey. I think you should put your video up, it what youtube is all about right, freedom of speech. Thanks again Quta for your input!

  • @1UpGameUp Let the world hear the cow bells of Christopher Wilkins!!!! lol

  • Good video man! I am on your side here. I don't like all digital distribution because I like going into stores and finding games I wouldn't otherwise have gotten into for a cheap price. With digital only, I'd have to research everything and a ton of lesser known stuff would fall through the cracks.

If gaming went download only I'd still play games but the amount of games I bought would probably go way way down.

Also, I like game expanding DLC. Fallout's DLC is a good example.

  • @xcornmuffinx I hear you, going into stores and finding great deals would be nonexistent. The Fallout DLC was freakin sweet!

  • No bird.... No music.. No cell.. And I don't Download dlc add ons... Finger is clean... I do understand your points and everything you said... And it doesn't look like you got to much hate.

  • @OldSkoolBrian I tip my hat to you sir. Your one of the people that understand that any purchasing of digital media supports a future of all digital distribution. Thanks bro, much appreciated.

  • Thought you were letting people download porn at the start lol.

  • @ImCOSTARICA15 Maybe I should of, I would have gotten more thumbs up. LMAO!!!

  • im not gonna lie bro,i was expecting u to put up a finger vid too cuz i know your all about physical disc copies instead of downloading..but your absolutely right about this..alot of so called gamers n other nerds are being hypocrites

  • @a1spinn Nah, I would be a hypocrite if I did that, because I have purchased digital media before. I'm making a second part to better explain to those that are not understanding. lol

  • Some great points dude. I am the guy who posted the 1st finger vid saturday night. I want to say like you i like to have the choice. I was just protesting a digital only future.

  • @Snestastic I completely understand the purpose of your video, nor was I targeting you in any malicious manner. I was just pointing out that in order to fully protest an all digital future, people have to stop buying digital media. Major corporation constantly look at the market and when they see the sales climbing on digital media, they will adapt. Thanks for your input kind sir.

  • @PointBlankGamez No probs dude I understand where you were coming from and I agree. I have only ever paid for alan wake episode one dlc and that's it. And i've never downloaded any paid for dlc, indy games or any digital content since. I just have no interest in it. Plus full priced proper games are a total rip off on the PSN compared to the disc. You are right though we need to vote with our wallets :)

  • @darrenwalshsock Yeah I definitely see your point. Hell it's rare to see a game with packaging we did back in the golden age of gaming. I do hope digital distribution and physical releases continue to coexist, but brushing off dd if it was the only was of gaming is foolish. Physical copies are best, but digital distribution is definitely here to stay.

  • @darrenwalshshock yeah I definitely see your point. Hell it's rare to see a game with packaging like we did back in the golden age of gaming. I do hope digital distribution and physical copies coexist, but brushing off dd if it was the only way of gaming is something that is foolish. Physical copies are best, but dd is definitely going to continue to stay.

  • Why don't you lighten up, people was just having fun joining in flipping the birdy.

  • @Splenda4Life Sure thing buddy, I will promise to lighten up as soon as I can! Thanks for the help!

  • I'm going to have to respectfully disagree. What you're basically saying is you have to support it 100% or not support it at all. In every facet of life there are things that we support or are opposed to yet leave an open mind for a difference of opinion. I support digital distribution to a degree but I am also opposed to it being the only method of me acquiring my games/music/sofware and movies. *Grabs meat cleaver and hops on bus to Chi town*

  • @GoatPervertor I see that I will have to make a part two, because that is not what I was trying to convey. I apologize for any confusion and hope that the second part will clarify things. * duct tapes phone books to body to avoid meat cleaver penetration*

  • I think it should be spilt down the middle. Some people have piss poor broadband connections and some people live miles away from anywhere (In the UK at least) so just 50:50 it. simples

  • @HammersGamingChannel They would definitely have to improve broadband before any of this would take off.

  • Only one person I subscribe to made such a video so it didn't bother me that much. You speak the truth, but I agree with both sides. I'm more concerned about the distant future where everything is too streamlined in a database. It's like the non appeal I have towards emulators. It's one thing to not play on dedicated hardware, but using dedicated controllers is far more important imo. Video games will always be debatable because it's the most interactive digital media. Being materialistic

  • @BotzaBrand Well said my friend and thank you for your input.

  • I don't mean all together, I buy DLC, I buy arcade games, I watch movies on LOVEFiLM (UK rental service with online viewing), and I enjoy it.

What "I" did a video for is about an ALL digital future, no more physical games at all, I really like a guy in Gamestation (UK Game shop), I don't want him out of the job either.

  • @DemonOfGaming I completely understand what your saying, but every time we as consumers purchase digital media, we show the major corporations that people support it. That's what gives them the idea to go all digital. It's a catch 22 if you will. Thanks for your input, much appreciated!

  • If someone stops gaming becus digital distribution took over that shows they are not a true gamer. Being a collector does not prove your a gamer. I can understand that someone may love seeing their wall of games but at the end of the day your suppose to play them not stack them to look pretty. Radiant silvergun, ikaruga, guardian heroes, and deathsmiles 2x being rereleased on Xbox live is awesome and it's thanks to digital distribution

  • Comment removed

  • @zeroXshinobi Couldn't agree more. If it were to happen and people stopped gaming, then they were never gamers to begin with.

  • Get you some herbal tea! LMAO

  • @darkstardude8000 They need to relax. LOL

  • lol ur right, but there are a shit load of people out there that are typical consumers and just buy shit and thats where most of the sales are coming from. people like me, im a cheap fuck, i get all my iphone apps for free, i only download few things on PSN is its on sale...and i download music for free etc...so im not really supporting anyone but the old farts that dont kno how to do shit like me are the ones that are helping digital distribution

  • @Cyapro LOL It's perfectly fine to want to save money and I don't think it has anything to do with age or technical knowledge. It's all of us who have bought any form of digital media. Thanks for your input.

  • k well im pretty sure everyone who hates Digital Distribution only hate for certain reason, such as not having a physical copy of the game because they collect or they wanna share it with friends all the reason you pointed out aren't valid for ppl hating on DD.

  • @BioShockier Yup, your always right........

  • @PointBlankGamez thanx man glad you see things my way

  • you make some great points man...i think at some point all of us have bought some sort of digital content and by doing that it shows that we are interested to a certain point in diital distribution, but at the same time i dont think games will go fully digital, the psp go is and indication that gamers and/or the public are not fully ready to embrace that.

  • @MrTkddude Well said and I'm glad you understood what I was trying to say. Apparently, some of the listeners think I was going in a different direction, so I guess I'm gonna have to make a part two, to better explain things. Thanks bro!

  • I have to say I buy every download map for Call of Duty games. I just hope to god that video games don't become 100% download in the future. Great topic and we should talk about this in the podcast...oh wait.

  • @The8bittheater Oh snap, i see what you did there! LOL

  • When I gave the finger to Digital Distribution I meant it for games,I'm a collector I want my physical game in my hand and it looks awesome in my shelve.. Same thing goes for Comic Books..What will happen to that awesome hobbie lots of people love collecting comics and now they are releasing digital.. I respect your opinion. But I stand tall and I will never back down!

  • @TheGamerfreak5150 I see where you are coming from and if you watch my vids, you'll see all those games on the shelf. I was merely pointing out the people who are hypocrites. The ones that say they don't want an all digital future and yet they support it by buying digital media (iTunes, Netflix, Steam, etc). I will be making a part two to simply what I was trying to say, in hopes that the ones that didn't understand me, will. Thanks for your input.

  • @PointBlankGamez Thanks !! I will be looking foward to see part 2 and I have seen your videos, I'm a huge fan of your videos and podcast,I love your collection !! I totally understand what you are saying but I'm focused only on Video Games for consoles like Nintendo Wii,Xbox 360 and PS3.. One huge example remember when Sony gave that welcome package with infamous? it took almost an 1 1/2 hour then later on my HD crashed had to put a new one,I had to re-download that again ? I got it at the store

  • @TheGamerfreak5150 Thank you for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoy my videos as well as the podcast. My intent was no to offend anyone, because that's not the type of person I am. I just wanted to state that the best way to fight against an all digital future is with our wallets. Thanks again for your input brotha.

  • I'm not a fan of digital distribution, I prefer the hard copy, but it does have some perks. Indie developers can get their products out there, because more often than not, they can't afford to make hard copies. End of the day, I still want the physical copy. Mass Effect 3 for example, I could pre-order and DL/install it ahead of time and wait until release day, but I want the box. Also digital distribution helped me reduce my CD collection so I could fit games on my shelves...true story lol

  • @ReturnToMotherBase I completely agree, so many great games by indie developers that can not afford to put their product on physical media. Digital distribution helped me with my constipation.....true story! lol

  • I'm down for buying a download on the cheap but when sony releases a brand new game on the PSN for $60 there is no way in hell I will support that! Give me an incentive! I refuse to buy music off itunes that will be locked to itunes or that can't be downloaded again. I buy CD's. Its different for phone apps cause you can actually download them again, and it would be a waste of time, money, and space to put an app on an SD card. But bitch i want my game cases and not that recyclable shit! Haha.

  • @CaptainAmerricka Yeah, those caes with the holes in them are very annoying.

  • Props for keeping it real as usual this kind of video is exactly why i love your channel. I agree with everything you said as much as i will dread the day when i cant buy a collectors edition or even a hard copy of my favorite game,i have bought Dlc for games and Android games(no itunes though i buy cds and rip em on there), so i cant say fuck em. The only thing we can do is enjoy the fredom of choice for now and not worry about the future.

  • @OsuRaven Thank you for understanding what I was trying to say. You hit the nail on the head! It's sad, but I'm going to have to make a second part, because some people could not understand what I was trying to get across. I guess I'll simply it and that don't work maybe I can draw pictures. lol Thanks for listening!

  • Not against digital distribution, but when companies are being dicks and nickle-and-diming you on every single little thing, I give them two thumbs up...the ass, with zero lube.

  • @Lupucillo LOL Well said my friend, well said.

  • All of this is true Bro

  • @hassanultimate2 Thanks man, appreciate the input.

  • i have never even played angry birds. i don't pay for music. i don't buy DLC because i hate paying for invinsible stuff. but respect or opinion.

  • @djgamer2012 Well you should, angry birds is awesome.

  • @djgamer2012 That you and I respect your choice as well. Thanks for your input.

  • I buy DLC especially with pre-orders. I have itunes & use Amazon MP3 However the only Digital distribution I am against is every newly released game being only available digitally.

I like to have the physical copy. I'm sure they'd put 'digital booklet' or manuals on the game like EA does.

However if the PSP go is any indication it will be a while before any of this happens all at once. DLC fine, codes fine, but the games themselves no way!

  • @Tom360degrees I agree with you bro 100%, but if we as consumers continue to buy any form of digital media, we are giving the big companies the green light for an all digital future. I'm making a part two, so I can get more in depth. Thanks Tom, always appreciate your input bro.

  • LOL very nice bro! Im with u on this one though I dont like digital distribution, its everywhere and next to impossible to avoid supporting it. I think most people who did it were mainly thinking of things like, getting a digital soundtrack in a collectors edition other than a physical copy, or something like that. Or the fear of almost everything eventually going digital. I personally dont support it but really dont have a choice but too. My middle finger is reserved for hookers buttholes! LMAO

  • @PWheat23 Make sure your wearing rubber gloves! You don't wanna get doodoo on that finger! lol

  • @PointBlankGamez LMAO!!! The is nothing worse than finger banging a post-pinched loaf!!! LOL

  • I give Digital Distribution a big thumbs up! Steam rules! No disc to get scratched, no cases to get busted, or have it littered all over the place.

  • @owenneil Ohhh snap, they are gonna hunt you down!!!

  • Yea man,I cant give the finger to something I use..

I do buy DLC for games.

I do much prefer having a physical copies and will not be happy when its digital only.

But I cant jump on the bandwagon when I use DLC and add-ons!

  • @GamezOfWar Same here broski, can't jump on the bandwagon if I'm guilty of buying digital media.

  • Respect!!!

  • @KeruptKiller Thanks bro! I'll be making a part 2, because some people couldn't process what I was trying to say. Stay tuned.......

  • I don't think that the people making these videos are against the idea of downloadable games/content they are against the idea of that being the only way to receive games, which of course will leave you with no rights of ownership.I think you have read into this incorrectly but each to there own :)

  • @darrenwalshsock Exactly !! Thanks for saying it better than me. That's what I meant by giving the finger..I want my game in my hand not on a hard drive.

  • @TheGamerfreak5150 I am surprised how many people on youtube are so oblivious to what is going on quotes such as "Don't worry about the future" "Steam will never let us down" etc etc.I believe that the guy who made this video really misunderstood what people were trying to say and it saddens me to see so many people agreeing.I removed my video because i was fed up of arguing with people who don't understand rights of ownership,i hope they enjoy the future that they didn't stand up against :)

  • @darrenwalshsock how does that change the point i just made? Bottom line is if someone stops playing games becus of digital distribution being the only way of purchasing a game is foolish. Theres tons of awesome games that are released via digital distribution only and sure itll be awesome to have a physical copy but it wont stop me from purchasing it if downloading it is the only way.

  • @zeroXshinobi Your presuming that the people who made these videos are going to be boycotting downloadable games and your missing the point that they were trying to make.People are concerned about the future of video gaming, this is not about playing games it's about owning them and unfortunately you do not own anything you have downloaded.I believe what the author of this video was saying is wrong would you consider someone not a vegetarian if they didn't eat meat but drank milk?

  • @darrenwalshsock This was my first comment! You are a hater you love controversy and your more than willing to create a drama out of nothing!

  • No hate or disrespect behind this but have you read the description on any of these videos? It's not against digital distribution in general, it's against digital distribution being the only way to get movies, music and games. These people are saying they want the option to buy a physical game, movie or cd. Not that they hate digital distribution in general.

  • @SuperBeardedGamer Ahh my good bubby SuuuupaBearded, let me explain. I wasn't saying they hate it completely, I was tryn to say that if they don't want to see things go all digital, they have to stop supporting digital media. I will explain in part 2 of this. It's like playing with a loaded gun, getting shot with the gun, and being mad at the gun. Makes no sense.

  • @PointBlankGamez Oh well you made it sound like they did. You made it seem like like were against dlc and online movie rentals, which doesn't have anything to do with it. You kind of made it sound like they want to get rid of digital distribution all together. I personally dont buy anything digitally, but it would be nice to see physical and digital media coexist.

  • Its true, simply true. Yes a fully digital world can be annoying considering people like ourselves like a good old hard copy but having digital works is not a bad thing. I have often queried why there is so much hate towards it despite the amount of followings that digital distribution has gained lol.

  • @spritesNbytes I agree, it's sad that some could not watch this video and let it process properly. There are many indie company's that can not afford to release their games on physical media, so they have to release it digitally.

  • @PointBlankGamez Whey exactly and because of that we got to play some great games such as limbo, capsized, insanely twisted shadow planet.

  • @PointBlankGamez No one is suggesting that anyone should stop buying indie games the whole thing was about retail games only being available via download. I will admit that the use of the word digital distribution was incorrect but many people had a full explanation in the description had you spared the time to read it!
