This is by far my favorite version of "A Christmas Carol." I just watched the Patrick Stewart version and, honestly, I was disgusted. Horrible cast. Bob Cratchitt looks like a weird version of Dr. Who or something. And the ghost of Christmas Yet to Come has woman arms. XD. Anyway.... God bless us everyone!
Masterpiece version of this Christmas classic from the brilliant soundtrack to the incredible cast. Viewing it right before Christmas has become tradition.
@AdamBombe Yeah - couldn't believe it! I got the CD now and only way I'll ever part with it again is if someone rips it from my dead, cold hands. *lol*
@veladarney OMG. Thank you sooooo much for letting us know. It really does mean a lot. I remember when you had to contact nick himself to get the CD. Thanks.
@WitheredSpaceMaN Actually, when I ordered the CD, I got a mail from him asking me to let him know whether the CD arrived safely. *gg* Still seems to be sending them out himself.
Business!? Mankind was my business! The common welfare was my business; charity, mercy, forbearance, and benevolence, were, all, my business. The dealings of my trade were but a drop of water in the comprehensive ocean of my business!
This song will always pick your spirits up (no pun intended). The George C. Scott version of A Christmas Carol is the best bar none. The scenery, acting and music far exceed the others.
I always loved this song and especially from this film ^^ Although Christmas is already over, it made me so happy to hear it and let me feel again this Christmas spirit *o* So thanks a lot for uploading it!
The past of man was cold as ice / He would not mend his ways. / He strove for silver in his heart / And gold in all his days. / His reason weak, his anger sharp, / And sorrow all his pay, / He went to church but once a year, / And that was Christmas Day.
{V2} The present man is full of flame: / He rushes here and there. / He turns away the orphan child, / The widow in her chair. / He takes more than he really needs, / Forgets how brief his stay, / And stands a-jingling of his coins / In church on Christmas Day.
{Ref} So grant us all a change of heart, / Rejoice for Mary's son; / Pray, Peace on earth to all mankind, / God bless us everyone!
{V3} The man to come we do not know: / May he make peace on earth, / And live the glory of the Word, / The message of the birth, / And gather all the children in / To banish their dismay, / Lift up his heart among the bells / In church on Christmas Day. {Ref}
thank you for putting this up! i looked for it the other day after having watched the film (which I watch every single year without fail) but i could only find a short version of it, which was a bit rubbish. but you've come to my rescue putting this up, thank you :) Can I ask where you got the track from?
@ThisIsAnthonyJames -- It's a simple rip directly from the film. You can hear a few lines of "Merry Christmas!" from some extras at about 1:00. I mixed the two versions together since I think it makes a nice full track!
I bought the soundtrack from the composer's website. It was composed by Nick Bicat. He even autographed it for me.

It's my favorite production of Christmas Carol too; still the gold standard of them all as far as I'm concerned.

First version of A Christmas Carol that I ever saw. Still think it's the best one, though Patrick Stewart isn't bad as Scrooge, either.

@ViolentMoonRat Nick Bicat did the score for the movie. Not sure who the choir is on the vocal section.

@ViolentMoonRat I believe it's was "Nick Bicat" who composed this score and wrote the song.
