Hey please PM me, im only a 14 year old kid and I have this tinnitus and The blue sky thing. Im really scared and need help. The doctors are telling me im going mad
this guy is really cool! anyway....i have an anxiety disorder and I'm so anxious about this.... I fear neurological damage ect ect ect... I am hoping anxiety is the sole cause..
@abu3333 My personal experience is being anxious defo makes it worse.. Since discovering that i'm not the only one it has cleared up about 50% in the last few hours!
This is unsettling. I have very similar experience to most of the people posting here, as well as a physical semblance to John here. I've never felt this much solidarity/creeped-out-edness.
thankyou for posting this. Everyone experiencing visual snow should watch this video. I completely agree with everything you said. So basically the first day i got visual snow accompanied with depersonalization i essentially had a panic attack. For 2 weeks i sat on google and all i thought about was visual in my case static. It got soo bad. But now I am on march break, I have less stress and I dont think about visual snow. So now when I go to look for the snow, well theres nothing to look for.
You are exactly right. The same time you posted your first video I was at a peak of visuals and constantly looking @ the VS forum or blogs and then i stopped found things that i liked to do , i stayed positive and "WAKA WAKA" i have been happy and more numb to the snow or vision problems. So kudo's to you my friend and i am with youuuuu on your thought processss!!!!!!!!
I've been having horrible anxiety this year, after having ended a serious long term relationship and losing my best friend to cancer. Lots of death angst this summer. This past week, BAM, visual snow. I didn't find out what it was called, it was only by chance that one of my key words on Google found it. Just knowing that other people had exactly what I have was a relief beyond imagination. I'm still going to a neurologist just to be safe, but man I feel so much better after these videos. Thanks
Also, I should mention that I've noticed it all my life, but it was only obtrusive lately. I was diagnosed with GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) about two years ago. I haven't been in therapy lately so I can definitely see why this has started to pop up again.
I'd wanna believe its just anxiety that causes it, but its the symptoms themselves that made me anxious!! I was strolling perfectly DANDY through life, when BAM ocular migraine, VS, Sparkly spots, and this depersonalization crap hit me all within a weeks time..from there the anxiety took hold.
In my opinion I think anxiety/stress can cause it..and make it worse..but I do not think it is it. I agree for the first while I was going insane like most probably were at that point. But after a little while I coped and I joined thosewithvisualsnow and things are getting better. I am still having depression and missing ALOT of school but Im getting better. Also there is research being done now by Dr. Peter J goadsby..So that is a very good thing which should take stress off of alot of us.
I have been trying to place less emphasis on this issue. I don't always see it and other times it is a shocker! And again, I recently had an eye check for comfort and guess what??? 100% healthy. I had all of the brain scans..2 MRIs, 3 CT scans....and then xrays of neck...chiropractic...the lot!!) and no one could find a thing! This led me to think anxiety and stress were what was present when this awareness hit. If all the results are negative, don't discount how stress can heighten the senses.
It's Dave. I am still about! I am really glad things are better for you. I totally agree with your comments. As you know, I have been through an extremely emotionally stressful period in my life too. The snow, afterimages etc were explained to me by a psychologist. All are normal eye-related processes. We all have the capacity to see these phenomena if we look for them actively. Severe stress and anxiety can make us aware of so much bodily functioning in an acute sense. I will email.
I don't quite have vs but I have a constant aura like looking through heat waves. I've had numerous visual tests done -- the explanations are vague. Maybe migraine, maybe thyroid eye disease. Not sure what to do or where to go. And I definitely, definitely have anxiety and had anxiety before this.
I feel the same way about VS and anxiety having a connection. I've had VS for a number of years now and I feel when I am put in an high anxiety situation it gets worse. The first two years were just awful for me. I've done a lot of lifestyle changes since then that have helped alleviate my anxiety and has made VS a lot easier to cope with. I'm glad to hear that there are other people out there experiencing what I am experiencing. Cheers.

I notice that my symptoms are also worse when I'm anxious and when I 'look' for them.
