@Sportbiketrackgear I want safety first and foremost and then styling. I think the last jacket I had was the astar stunt 2 and it was Pretty good but I've been looking into the dainese Santa Monica, race jacket and the mx-1 alpinestar. I like the added looks and performance of the speed hump (at the risk of looking like a tool because I'm a beginner), but I'm scared it might affect me negatively if I need to wear a pack. The Santa Monica looks forgiving in this aspect.
I'd say that the jacket size is too slack on your body.
In my opinion you should wear 44 or even 42 jacket and let it cure with time and use.
Mine is 48 and it was rather uncomfortable in the beggining. I stood up on it and after almost 3 years of continues using its still snaggy and cured to my body. Love it!
hi, I'm looking at one of these jackets from your online store. just a bit confused about sizing. I'm about 6' 180pounds. what dainese size do you think I'd be? cheers.
Awesome jacket! But let's face it it's a shit load of money! It's 550 euros on the official website so in the US it's gonna cost somewhere in the $900 area if not more. But I guess it's worth it. What the hell I'm considering one myself despite the price. Sometimes these jackets are the difference between life and death.
call up sportsbiketrackgear... or email them (email on their website)
i just bought one of these jackets from them and they shipped it to Australia for a lot less than $900 usd.... (also bought a pair of Supertech R 's for good measure.
Great group of people to deal with.. (sorry to sound like an advertisment but.. im very happy with SportsBike Track gear..)
I just got this jacket and it is absolutely amazing. It's comfortable, the liner is so warm for cooler weather. I'm 6'2 and 170lbs and I'm wearing a size 52 euro. I use it as my daily commuting jacket and its great. I would absolutely recommend this jacket. The price might be a bit hight, but the safety and high quality materials make it so worth it.
Dainese Gran Premio or the Santa Monica or the Icon Timax 2 leather? i like the idea of the titanium woven in the Timax 2 material but which would u choose?
Hard to compare as there is a big price and style difference. The GMX Motion is an awesome jacket as well. I would choose the one you like the looks of best. Neither one of them will disappoint IMO
Hello, great review. Im having issue figuring out my size for this jacket Im 5'11' 145 lbs I want the jacket to fit snug. do you have any recommendations? Currently using an icon in size small it fits ok but no idea how to convert that to euro sizing
@Sportbiketrackgear 1.85m high and 85+ kilos. My opinion is go with tight and let it cure and become snaggy. It will, you can take my word on it, i got a 48 for me and over the time it become perfect like its tailored for me.
Hard to compare as the Santa Monica is $250 more and the styling is different. They both offer the best of build quality. The Santa Monica uses the D Skin leather which is very soft and strong. Either would be an excellent choice. I would give the comfort nod to the Santa Monica.
thnx for the review but y r u yellin

does this have Insertable chest/back protection?
mikepartyboy 2 years ago
yep it can accomodate Wave G1 or Backpack G1, they have a special pocket to access that area, but it doesnt come with the jacket
monkucoi 2 years ago
can it accommodate a T pro insert back protector?
Or does it only go with a Wave protector from dainese?
Thanks

I would suggest a size 48Euro. At your height I would not go any smaller as the sleeves will end up short IMO
