The guns you listed are functionally identical to any other semi-auto. It is likely that you have not had the opportunity to shoot these firearms. I can glean from your comment, that you draw your knowledge of firearms from Hollywood, and gun hating media.

That said, many of the rifles you point out (exception being the mp - which is technically a pistol) are light, have lots of field use, and utilize cheap/common ammunition. They are fantastic for personal defense as well.

Assault rifles and automatic weapons are indeed part of the argument because those are the guns we have been trying to ban for the longest time. We actually did ban them, but the Republicans in the Legislative branch let the ban lift. My statement was intended for that issue.

Ak 47's are much cheaper than 15 or 25k. uzis are cheaper than 25k.

By definition, assault rifles are "automatic weapons". They are not banned, and can be purchased - look up "National Firearms Act" on google. It is only legal for citizens to purchase firearms which were manufactured before 1986. So yes, assault weapons are going for 15 - 20k each.

Semi auto versions of those assault rifles are functionally identical to any other semi-auto, and much cheaper. Looking scary to you shouldn't make them illegal - and is why the AWB was not renewed

Given the evidence, its impossible to defend this guy's actions. To say he was peaceful when sober just sheds more light on how poor of a decision maker he was - if he had known issues with alcohol, he should not have drank.

Riley's actions not only cost him his life, he has clearly impacted the lives of his family, Donna's and the Jackson family.
