hmm i also had an ipod but i decided to just sell it and forth use my HTC Touch HD for all my portable media requirements so i fucntions as a good mp3 player, vids, inet, and ofc phone

screen is great, xperia has hardware keyboard but i have a great touchscreen keyboard on my htc very responsive indeed

TouchFlo 3D (the shell HTC made) is one-hand finger usable. A stylus is still included because you will need it if you dig deep into Windows Mobile. Unlike the iPhone, where the OS was made to be operatable by fingers all the time.

Know the Shazam app for iPhone? It's available for WM, as "MusicID" but only for AT&T Blackjack or something, someone hacked it for other phones to use it, but there's no touch screen support, you have to use the D-Pad, which unfortunately the HTC Touch HD and HTC MAX 4G don't have.

Yea Google developed the OS, but its an entirely open source platform that anybody can use. The fact that its open source is the main thing that Google has been pushing about it.

The first phone using Android, the G1, is made by HTC, the makers of this Touch HD phone as well.

Doubt this phone will be coming over to the USA - you guys are still mostly on that outdated CDMA2000 2.5G network stuff. This is a 3.5g UMTS HSDPA phone and wont work over there.

beautiful phone...but the single defining reason i would not buy this phone is Windows Mobile. Unless v.7 runs better than any previous version, i would personally stear clear of this product. If it were loaded with android i would pick it up in a heartbeat.

Agreed, Windows Mobile is really a downside. But TouchFlo 3D makes up for that in my opinion! ;o)

Anyway, why don't MS develop a proper mobile OS. Nothing has REALLY changed since the first basic WM OS. I hope they will completely reinvent the interface!

Omnia is not good at all. Especially the interface is very bad. You have to drag the programs you would like to start to your desk. only then you can start them. But there is only space for around 3-4 icons on you desk, so you will have to drag each one back and "clean" you desk. totally useless. many reviews allready talked about that.

Correction - As fast, or faster than HTC Touch Diamon... Crappy resistive screen that doesn't feature full multi-touch functionality (HTC when will you ever learn), it has a better resolution though... You're right about the camera, that is indeed better! ;o)

Anyway, regardless of the fact that the screen technology is hopelessly outdated. I will still get one, if it will be cheaper than the iPhone!

HTC opted for a resistive screen because it's better for asian language input. This makes sense because HTC's biggest market is in asia. This phone won't even be released in the united states anyway.

That may be, but that is not what I expect from a phone of this kind. I can't see what makes a resistive better for the asian, compared to the resistive screen. Other than the fact that you can use a stylus. But then they should make an asian version, seperately from the european version!

As I see it, the only reason why they would still be using the resistive on the european market, is to lower costs. But seriously, with a screen this big and with this res. this is a bad place to spare money!

Well, where I come from HTC phones is indeed cheaper. Sure, in Europe the iPhone is only around 199€ for the 16GB version. However, because this is Apple, the subscription is far more expensive. Looking at it from this point of view, HTC does make cheaper. At least, that was the case with the diamond!

only thing that stands out from the touch diamond is a SUPER BIG 3.8 screen and a 5mp with autofocus, other then that i really love what HTC has done this year coming out with some hot ass phones especially this 1, but still i love my touch diamond.

The 3.5mm headphone jack on the Touch HD is nice well. The increased screen resolution (2.5 times more pixels than iPhone screen) is also a bonus. I just hope they work hard on making the battery life good.

ahhh another feature that stands out over most of the touch FLO 3D phones of HTC. this shit owns the iphone in tooo many reasons and features to list man. and i also realized that the unlocked version is MUCH CHEAPER then the touch diamond and i was blown away from the facts. damn i really never thought that HTC has taken a "space leap" on innovating themselves with these nice ass phones.

i can't even imagine the sound quality when you use the bose headphones with the touch HD
