  • This truly made the whole episode worth while. :)

  • I was crying and they were tears of blood.

  • I Cry at this scene everytime;') its so nice <3<3

  • How could you hesitate hugging amy pond? I wouldnt lol anyway anyone got any idea's to what the doctors name is?

  • Oh shut it mdtalley, like you never watched a show on the internet. Go back in your cave

  • Reversing the video does NOT make it legal.

  • So he's having a nice dinner with his mother- and father-in-law. How cool.

  • The awkward Moment XD

  • One of the best endings ever, and as far as I'm concerned this is the true send-off to the Ponds. It was a bit too surprising in God Complex I think, this gives them a better good-bye.

  • If u have a family and friends u can never understand the Doctor no matter how many times u watch it. The Doctor is all alone, and he knows he can never have a family or friends. He knows the friends that he does make will all move on and eventually leave cos they can't live the single life he does. They want the normal life, marriage, children, regular job... the doctor on the other hands likes getting out there and living!!.... living life to the max!!

  • @GB26007 You're sorta missing the point. He can't have a normal life because as a Time Lord he doesn't fit in with the rest of the universe, not anymore anyways. Everyone else would die long before him. Plus the loss of the Untempered Schism probably means that living permanently away from the Time Vortex would be like a fish out of water.

  • Words cannot portray how cute I think this scene is so I'll say this. The Doctor having christmas dinner with the in-laws? lololololololol :D

  • :0 they're door is tardis blue! thumbs up if you noticed.

  • @zbraswell2000 if you look down a few comments you'll notice I already said that!

  • I think she looks really pretty on this:)

  • I hope nothing tragic will happend to Amy and Rory, I love them so much.

This scene is so beautiful, the Doctor has a family, after all this time

  • D'awwwwww! That is all.

  • did anyone notice the "tardis blue door"?

  • I'm getting a few mixed signals about this part. If I'm totally off my nut you can tell me.

    1. Anyone notice that when the Doctor knocked on the door he knocked FOUR TIMES? Could this possibly mean the master is returning, or is it a sign that this Doctor is coming to his end? (HE will knock four times and then he will be dead.)

    2. Amy is returning as the companion?

    3. He's becoming to human, which was Ten's downfall, will it be 11's as well?

  • @MikaXKempo it has been confirmed that amy and roary are returning to series 7 but they are going to have an heart breaking story and this will be their exit to the show

  • @MikaXKempo

The knock 4 times bit has already been done. It was for the 10th. The fact that he knocked 4 times has no meaning whatsoever.

He ins't becoming too human, he's half human its part of the show. He is just realizing he has a family again which he hasn't had for a very long time.

Amy being his mother-in-law and him being married to River is the closest he's had in a while

  • @therabbits69 he isnt half human

  • @Kamikaz3Duck Yes he is. It was stated in the movie which is still considered canon since it was the 8th doctor.

  • @therabbits69 well that is fucking stupid

  • @Kamikaz3Duck I just pretend he never said that.

  • Yes, Doctor. They love you.

  • Rory looks alot older...this was the best part of the episode, for me.

  • If only River was there; it'd be so much nicer! The whole family there!

  • And this is what makes the Smith run so tonally different (yes TONALLY) from the Tennant run. While the show is still deep and emotionally stirring, it does so without RTD's melodrama and deliberate emotional manipulation. It remains powerful, but does so subtly and elegantly rather than smacking us over the head with it. Bravo, Matt Smith, and bravo scriptwriters!

(Also bravo Murray Gold for yet more excellent scores for the show.)

  • That last scene when the Doctor was crying, my heart just exploded!

  • Did anyone get the water pistol reference to Karen Gillian's first Doctor Who appearance, Fires of Pompeii?

  • @TheAfroThunder1 Glad I'm not the only one who noticed the reference to Fires of Pompeii?

  • @ShunsuiHitsugaya I'm glad. Are you glad I'm glad?

  • It sounds cliche to say, but the Doctor definately has a special relationship with the Ponds.

Rose he kinda-sorta loved, Donna became a close friend and almost an equal, but he popped in and out of Amy's life in ways that cemented how she grew up, drew her and Rory close together, became tied to the life of their daughter in more ways than one, and essencially became a part of their family.

It's going to be hard seeing these companions go. I just hope their dismissal isn't overly tragic.

  • hi bye shitlords

  • I'm having an emotion!!!

  • Is this the first time that the Doctor really has a 'home' and a family besides the Tardis since he left Gallifrey? It's a really nice scene.

  • @gabrielized Yeah, because he's always running.

  • How did the Ponds know that this this was really the 11th at the last known age to them?

Given all the wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff he could be visiting from a point between The God Complex & TWoRS

  • @haggiskiwi Well if you pay attention to what they're saying, Amy mentions that her daughter, River, told her that the Doctor had survive the shooting at Lake Silencio in Utah. So this takes place probably after The Wedding of River Song.

  • Press 4 repeatedly for some groovy dancing :)

  • So brilliant.

  • 4 knocks like the master, and the master is under contract to appear in series 7. FORESHADOWING, BITCH

  • Le doctor n'est pas mort je suis sauver!!!!

    Pleure-tu ?? I love you <3

  • I'd comment more, but I'm too busy hugging the Doctor. I should really get an Eleven plushie and just think of a clean way to say "I sleep with the Doctor every night."

  • should not this vid be titled "the williams return"?

  • @SpockBorg5 No it shouldn't. Not all women chose to take their husband's last name when they get married, in case you weren't aware of that. Amy certainly didn't - did you not hear her calling for "Mr Pond"? Rory's the one who changes his last name to hers instead.

  • @fieryjen555 if you're thinking about the wedding reception from Matt Smith's first season finalie, then your thinking maybe faulty. the wedding certificate would have probably been signed by then and it would have read williams judging by rory's line of " it's williams that how it works"

  • @SpockBorg5 In real life, yes. However, this isn't real life, and I think the writers probably didn't even worry about the timing of the paperwork (as an aside, not everyone signs their papers before the celebration anyway). Also, immediately after delivering that line, Rory acknowledges that, in fact, that ISN'T how it works in the case of him and Amy, implying that they will be Mr and Mrs Pond and not Williams. .

  • @fieryjen555 Yeah but that's among them. Officially she's probably "Amelia Williams" in the UK, But they're the Ponds in the TARDIS.

  • it would be cool if there was on 2:25 the number 11 on the door lol :D

  • anyone else love that their front door is TARDIS blue?

  • I love this scene, it is the perfect scene. You started it at perfect point and ended it at the perfect point. Great job!

  • This was a lot shorter in the version of this I saw... thanks for uploading this! Also, I love how Amy says "We always do" set a place for him - it's one of the sweetest moments I could have asked for!

  • i had tears at this point and i dont no y....

  • @ToumaFanGurl Because you're humany-wumany, Touma. Didn't you watch the rest of the episode?

  • @sternbergzookie Good point I am, I think...

  • i was alone last christmas this scene made me cry and find for my friends and family

  • The only good part about the 2011 Christmas Episode. Srsly.

  • @NeoDMC I agree. It wasn't the best.

  • @NeoDMC Despite it being really really cheesy, I thought the bit where the woman's husband's plane turned up out of nowhere and they were all reunited at christmas and everything. You have to love the episodes where everybody lives :3

  • the music...his face...the hug...the tears...GORGEOUS!

  • I think karen looks so pretty in this i LOVE her jumper and i also love what arthur is wearing!!:)

  • John: You're not dead then?

Sherlock: And a happy new year!

  • Series 7 better have either a Master or Dalek finale.

  • It is just me or does the first time he knocks at 0:00 sound a lot like the sound of drums drumbeat 1-2-34?

  • :´D

  • How sweet is this. The Doctor got a family, his own family, he has best friends, a wife, and in-laws. Pretty revolutionary for the Doctor.

  • @GabriellaJaneLondon If Moffat's going to ruin this next season (like killing off Amy or Rory), I'll go to England and kill him slowly and painfully!

  • @kavtoM I will help...

  • @GabriellaJaneLondon Yep. And now that he knows all that, he also knows when his wife is going to 'die', and we know that Amy and Rory are finishing in the seventh season and a new companion is being introduced. No doubt it's gonna be tear-inducing. He can never stay happy D:

  • anyone else notice that the door looks like the TARDIS?

  • Comment removed

  • this scene makes you think how many companions of the doctor set a place for him at christmas and wait.

  • @mitchrosenbloom

I like to think that after this episode the Doctor started visiting his old companions at Christmas.

  • Ok, i don't know if anyone caught this, but when the doctor knocks he makes the sound that "THE MASTER" does when he knocks. Is this a foreshadowing?

  • The doctor was bound to know River would eventually tell them the truth lol.

  • Im not gonna hug first.

  • I wonder if all former associates of the Doctor do that. Expect him to show up anytime and are prepared for it...O.o It's sad and happy at the same time. "Sad is happy for deep people"

  • So very Scottish to answer the door bellowing "if that's more carollers, I have a water pistol!"

  • He knocked 4 times, twice.

  • just so beautiful.

  • you know you've gott the right house when you hear a scottish woman scream "if that is more carol singers i have a water pistol"

  • the doctor + the ponds = happy ending :)

  • oh my god tears just stream down my face everytime i see this.

  • It's hard to be completely happy about this scene because I just know Moffat is going to yank it out from under our feet during series 7. Amy and Rory can't be there for him for too much longer. =(

  • he's finally got a real family again! :)

  • 1:04 oh gosh, that smile forming........<3

  • Thumbs up if you noticed his first knock sounded like the Master's drumming.

  • @mcbain752 1234 1234 1234 2 hearts = 4 beats.....i think they did that on purpose

  • @unclemarty70 I know it was on purpose. It's still a sly nod to the drums.

  • @mcbain752 lol....i was just seeing if you were awake .....

  • @mcbain752 Maybe The Masterr is trying to steal The Doctors body for life

  • @mcbain752

    HO

    LY

    SHIT

  • beautiful! perfect! where's the "love" button? :D

  • Why doesn't Amy like Carol singers? They're not after sweets, Amy. Don't be a Scrooge.

  • OH GOD HES ALIVE! I CRIED MY EYES OUT OVER THE MILK THAT HAS BEEN LEAKED FROM THE CUP THAT HAS TURNED IN A 80 DEGREE ANGLE AND ITS CONTENTS HAVE BEEN SPILLED ONTO THE TABLE!

  • <3

  • This is what made the Christmas Special, this one scene. I can dump the rest of it (expect for the opening that was pretty cool) but this bit with Amy and the Doctor, prefect!

  • Ironic how this short bit is worth watching more than the entire previous adventure with that speccy kid and that wingey girl and that bat shit crazy mom

  • i love that the door is tardis blue (:

  • @grazymustache same !

    Tardis Blue Always!

  • <3 *sniffles happily*

  • @Christianindianity I don't think that's canon even if it's in the movie, it was only ever mentioned then and I think they did away with it when the series rebooted.

  • @harpdevil why do you think he always protects earth..IT IS DEFENDED. the christmas invasion. .davros says " he will go to the earth " its his second home/ half home ,come along harpdevil keep up . anyway i'm going to throw you a bone..number 8 ..is about coming upto christ, diamond crystal conciousnes--he is battling his own demonside. and finally when the master is caught by number 10 , martha and the team he says " the best place for him is inside the tardis safely under lock and key

  • @unclemarty70 He protects the Earth because he loves humans, not because he is half human. They are his favourite species because he loves our thirst for knowledge and exploration. The 4th Doctor said "I'm not a human being; I walk in eternity", "Well, I'm not human; and I've seen better", "Oh please, don't call me human. Just "Doctor" would do very nicely, thank you." Plus we saw his mother in 10's last story, the timelord woman that kept appearing to Wilfred Mott.

  • @harpdevil for someone who isn't human ...he looks very human and keeps regenerating into human form.....there are days i'm ashamed to be human myself sometimes of the things humanity gets up.....i'm coming back as a border collie next.........lets agree to disagree......but .....we can agree doctor who is top banana.

  • @unclemarty70 ....2

  • @unclemarty70 He doesn't look human. You look Time Lord.

  • @mcbain752 you to eh !!!! happy new year

  • @harpdevil he is a bit like spock.....out of star trek

  • @unclemarty70 I know they said he was half human in the film, but no english-made Doctor Who have ever mentioned him being half human, and in fact go to lengths to state how not human he is. If you ask me, the reason they said that in the film was because some hollywood execs said he had to be half-human so audiences could relate to him or something stupid. I think that's been swept under the rug though, I don't think he's half human in the series reboot.

  • @unclemarty70 ....half human on his mothers side

  • I nearly cried here, it made me so happy to see the Doctor and Ponds together again.

  • Awww i love this so much!

  • AW! honestly, I'm not that big of an Amy fan - in fact, I honestly don't like her - but this was beautiful. Doesn't anyone else get that, ever, or is just me and the Doctor? Where you're burnt out and you don't *feel* anything anymore, no matter how hard you try? And then - and then Amy and Rory - his family, now, his family :') - his first *real* family since Gallifrey was swallowed in flames - now he's feeling again, and he's crying, and he's holding on and there's hope left. Powerful :)

  • @PhoenixWormwood137 I'm kinda the same way but in a different way.. I'm a lot like the Tennant Doctor.. I bury and hide all of my pain and sadness so that others don't see it. I lost my mum 4 years ago and when she died it really destroyed me inside, she was the only person who i cared most about in this world.. Now i have no family and i have all of this pain, anger and sadness inside of me. So i can really relate to how he feels....

  • @ShroudedFury Oh, I'm so sorry... wow. I'm really, really sorry.

  • Meh no need to be sorry, if anything it has made me stronger.. I no longer allow people to talk down to me or hurt the people i care about or innocents. I used to bite my tongue, now i don't take that crap. It's weird that i saw her suffer because of my father and then she died and after all that it has made me so much stronger, so hre suffering made me who i am, she made me who i am and i'd never change that. I'm kind and loving and compassionate but i also wont take crap.

  • And on a little side note i also don't use violence or weapons to inflict damage on others.. Like the Doctor i rely on my intelligence to fight my battles because it is true... The pen is mightier than the sword.

  • @ShroudedFury well, good for you!!! :)

  • the best part in the whole christmas special!

  • @Sesshomaru092 I totoally argee with you there.

  • I cried.

  • 4 KNOCKS!

  • Why is the door number backwards/upside down? 1:54

  • @mglottalstop the whole clip is reversed/flipped horizontally :)

  • @mglottalstop it´s christmass miracle. OR it´s because whole video is backwards/upside down.

  • Comment removed

  • Is it me or is Amy with a gun starting to catch on

  • it would have been so great if amy said "now come have christmas dinner with your in laws." :)

  • I hope they come back for the 50th anniversary

  • I couldn't help but smile when I watched this :')

  • the doctor that came for dinner

  • This was by far the best part of the special; The Doctor realizing that he has a family. Its about time some good things came his way.

A happy new year to you Doctor!

"We didn't make a difference at all"

"I wouldn't say that. The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and...bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things or make them unimportant. And we definitely added to his pile of good things."

  • Why is the picture back to front? (especially noticable 1:18 to 1:22)

  • @BADALASS So that the clip won't be removed for copyright.

  • Humany-wumany...:,)

  • I don't think the Doctor in any regeneration has ever cried because he was happy before. That thought makes this scene even sadder, to think he has never been this happy before.

  • wait what is that 2:34

  • Agreed, this episode was a bit weird, but OHHH! This made up for it. The blue door, beautiful Amy in her Christmas sweater, "Mr. Pond", the big Doctor/Amy hug, humanly wumanly tears...all beautiful! Love it! (I really really miss Amy and Rory)

  • wait a sec at 1:19 there is a light shining in the right window is that a nightlight!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • So if that's 2013 then, 2 years after series 6

Then the doctor does stop 2012.

  • lol I love Amy being all River's mum when she defends her by saying "She's a good girl."

  • Going to be upset when they leave.

  • Didn't really like the episode. Too fast and didn't make sense. This scene was the best bit

  • This part of the episode was the best

  • the part that she said that she aways do have a spot for him on the table

    reminds me of sarah jane

  • Awh, happy tears... That's so... Human!

  • BEST BIT!!!!!

  • YES.

+ so glad that Rory had joined the cardigan brigade <3

  • Love the fact that Amy chases carolers away with a water pistol!

  • Anyone notice rory has his hair set up like the doctors?

  • Best part 0:00 to 2:28 :)

  • it's good to see The Doctor happy with the In-Laws... i still can't believe i'm saying the In-Laws :L

  • Don't see why people hate on the writing of this ep... was awesome ^_^

  • I was disappointed by this episode. Then this happened. God, it's gonna be a long 9 months.

  • @ThatThingByTheShed i was disappointed the first time i watched it, i just didn't like some of the Characters and how childish the Story was, the Comedic Moments were great but when it needed to be serious, it couldn't be because of how childish is was, then this scene came on and i thought, i might give it another chance, why not? :)

  • @WillLOVESKaren Haha, FINGERS CROSSED! I actually love Karen/Amy SO much! (and of course Rory :))

  • Best part of the episode, I almost screamed in delight when I heard her voice behind the door and then saw her pretty face! Thanks for uploading this!

  • I wanna cosplay this Amy!

  • *sobs* I loved the whole ep, but this part just made it! Lovely!

    *hugs the Doctor*

  • At first I thought when he wiped the tear and this sparkley sound effect played at 2:11-2:14 was a sign that he was going to regenerate soon....(idk if timelords can postponed their regeneration for a few hours) but i watched the clip again and realize that hes happy. Like what Sarah Jane Smith said. Doctor...you have the biggest family in the world! Or i think thats what she said.

  • 2yrs which makes it 2013, HINT HINT!

  • "And they say that the Time Lord's hearts grew three sizes that day."

  • Amy and Rory cant leave!! he is their son in law!!!! they cant leave permanently they are his family! u hear that writes of Doctor who!!! I am telling u they cant leave at least not for good!!!!

  • *CRIES* :)

  • "So.... you're not dead."

    "AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!"

  • Amy's wearing a Christmas jumper. Rory's wearing a cardigan and chinos. The Ponds= Epic Hipster family.
