Actually 4 the ppl who r alot more informed on the subject, r less 2 follow the brainless crowd. I'm a fan of both but The Vampire Diaries r extremly lacking n praise. VD shouldn't 'fall into the T category' T should fall into the VD category. And I'm sorry you're not independent enough to let society decide things for you.

Idiot, why does everyone assume that anything vampire-y is Twilight. If this series was made before Twilight became popular it would be called a knockoff of Vampire Diaries. The book was published in 1992, before Twilight was even thought of. And, no he doesn't sparkle, he'll burn to ashes, if he doesn't have his ring of lapis lazuli.

Just like Aristocrat vampires will always fit in the Anne Rice catagory.. even though there were more aristocrat vamps before she wrote her books.
