Yeah, I've been watching a lot of vids of that degrade black people. Saying it's cool to do drugs, have knife fight, treat women lower and call each other(pardon my language) "Nigger"...they are not showing themselves respects nor to others who try to help them
I wished black history month would celebrate murder, rape, robbery, drug dealing and violence... then it'd be realistic and I could have some form of respect for it. How about profiling the "drive-by shooting?" Probably blacks' most notorious contribution to America.

I'm not sure what the point of this video is. The case is strongly made that the historical Republican party has shown more progressive politics towards blacks than their Democratic rivals. Interestingly, it seems that over time, a "switch" has been made on the supposed positions of both parties. Now while I agree with the facts presented, that does not change the fact that blacks,working-class and poor people have little to gain by voting Democratic...
...they have even less to gain by voting Republican, regardless of the history of the parties. If you look at the facts, Obama (a black, Democrat) has done nothing to stop the foreclosure crisis, ending the wars, restoring habeas corpus, holding banks accountable, putting financial regulations, or any of the millions of other things that he promised to do. On which issue would McCain have operated differently? What exactly would black voters today have gotten from the Republican party?
Ultimately, neither party represents the mass of the country. In that way, one can say that America is finally post-racial, since the economic misery extends across racial boundaries. That misery may be unequally distributed it, but it exists across the country. I think Barack Obama is proof that electoral politics in America has been corrupted beyond redemption. If Obama, who was swept into office on a clear mandate from the American people couldn't/wouldn't do what he was asked...
...then really, what hope is there that a Republican or an Independent will?
This is why the Occupy movements are growing. Interested people should check out OccupytheHood. More and more groups are joining the movement because the left/right paradigm is false. If you want real change, you should place your allegiance to yourself and the principles of justice and equality and peace for ALL people, not a political party that can accept unlimited campaign cash from shadowy corporate donors.

It's late so I didn't get to finish the video, but from what I've seen, the author is saying that republicans were good to the blacks, therefore the conservatives were. While these statements may be facts, its not entirely fair to associate someone or something with a history. Sometimes its necessary to make judgement calls based on a past, but this is nothing but propaganda. So I am 100% for equality. But I am against black history month for the reason is that Black people have an entire month dedicated to just their history , when they want equality. I am not racist. I am not prejudice. This is my opinion.
I do agree with celebrating history. But there is a certain degree where I think it goes too far. I hear many people complaining that white people have 11 months. I am not white , but how ever, to assume that the majority of other races are hateful against blacks is wrong and can be offensive to them.

The political parties basically reversed their platforms around the beginning of the 19th century. Republicans of even that comparatively recent era, if they had the same values today, would be more at home in the Democratic party than the neoconservative establishment known as Republican today.

Abraham Lincoln was pushing, as a Republican, for greater federal power over the states. Clearly this shows that the liberal/conservative basis (role of the federal government) was reversed at that time from the stated positions of the parties today. Indeed, the Democratic party was born out of resistance to the federal bank (Hamilton vs Jefferson, etc) which creates a conservative foundation.
The switch began around the Woodrow Wilson/Great Depressio years, as tariffs, etc settled. Opposition to the New Deal and the use of the Southern Strategy (a campaign BASED on anti-black sentiments) cemented the current dynamics. Many Southern Dems flipped over to the Republican party at that time because THEY disagreed with desegregation. Frankly, I am stunned and amazed that a man who prides himself on having looked through readily-available history would have missed this.

as Larry Elder says, the reason people are Democrats is because they believe in inclusiveness and the scope of government providing social & public services such as education, housing, health care, public assistance. Its really not a Black and White thing. The politics of today turned ugly when Religious right tried to impose their moral stance on others. As a Christian who believes in liberation theology and rescuing the poor, the democrats are the more noble party.

The belief is that somehow by aligning yourself with power that you'll get some for yourself. It doesn't matter to this guy who in fact is fighting against ANYTHING that will help blacks NOW. So after having enslaved, persecuted, discriminited against blacks for a few centuries until having things like the right to vote, have good schools guaranteed, etc. afforded us less than a generation ago, the belief is that NOTHING should be done to even the playing field. It's simple. Black people were brought here against their will, enslaved, and then even when the technical slavery ended were not allowed to participate as full citizens. In many places in America blacks were not allowed to even vote. We were given substandard education, substandard living conditions and were discriminated against in every facet of public life. The political parties basically reversed their platforms around the beginning of the 19th century. Republicans of even that comparatively recent era, if they had the same values today, would be more at home in the Democratic party than the neoconservative establishment known as Republican today.

Abraham Lincoln was pushing, as a Republican, for greater federal power over the states. Clearly this shows that the liberal/conservative basis (role of the federal government) was reversed at that time from the stated positions of the parties today. Indeed, the Democratic party was born out of resistance to the federal bank (Hamilton vs Jefferson, etc) which creates a conservative foundation.

The switch began around the Woodrow Wilson/Great Depressio years, as tariffs, etc settled. Opposition to the New Deal and the use of the Southern Strategy (a campaign BASED on anti-black sentiments) cemented the current dynamics. Many Southern Dems flipped over to the Republican party at that time because THEY disagreed with desegregation. Frankly, I am stunned and amazed that a man who prides himself on having looked through readily-available history would have missed this.

as Larry Elder says, the reason people are Democrats is because they believe in inclusiveness and the scope of government providing social & public services such as education, housing, health care, public assistance. Its really not a Black and White thing. The politics of today turned ugly when Religious right tried to impose their moral stance on others. As a Christian who believes in liberation theology and rescuing the poor, the democrats are the more noble party.
