Touhou is an excellent game when you really think about it. every enemy gets like 30 seconds of dialogue and all of the main characters only get about 6 times that, yet we still get all of this off of their characters just based off of those short dialogues and their curtain-fire styles

Maybe she knows why she is locked up, especially since she doesn't try to escape.

Actually, if you look at her interview in Bohemain Archive in Japanese Red(go to the touhou wiki, it has the translation of her interview), you can see she can be normal, and modest. She is otherwise normal, given her mentality is usually of a very young girl. It's just that she CAN snap, and when she does... 'KABOOM' goes the planet, unless she stays looked up.
