  • @robelinda2 - Lovely stuff. When did they start having camera at both ends in Australia ?

  • how come there is three behind square leg?

  • Hi Rob

Great video! Read Alan Davidson interview on Cricinfo and immediately I checked your videos for Davidson's footage. You are awesome. Have been following you for a while and this is my first comment. Is that Bill Lawry talking to Neil Harvey @1:58? I guess Bill Lawry's debut match was in 1961.Was he a substitute in this match?

  • @raghuna good call, i didnt notice, i guess Lawry was a sub!

  • Wow Rob, what a classic video! Had heard a lot about Davidson, seeing him bowl for the first time. He's really good. But poor Ian Meckiff's career was destroyed by allegations of chucking. I say he chucks less than people like Harbhajan, Praveen Kumar & Pragyan Ojha.

  • Wow...what videos man...been following this channel from some time...awesome uploads..!!

  • @sudapavi Thanks, ENJOY!

  • Thanks for uploading the video. Always read and heard about Alan Davidsons' actions.....now getting to see them. Thanks again.

  • Thanks rob for this,Please some videos from tied test series, the draw at Adelaide last wicket partnership

  • Gotta love the epic field settings...

  • One of the absolute great fast bowlers. It's a pity that we didn't have behind-the-wicket cameras in those days to see what he was doing with the ball. That might be part of the reason why it is difficult to compare bowlers across eras.

  • Wow, now that's something! Do you have some Ray Lindwall by any chance ?

  • Wonderful and great bolwer, probably not as quick as wasim but good action and decent speed with swing from davidson.wasim was was best ever left hand bowler because all the great batsmen of his era said so about him like, sachin, lara,s.waugh, ponting, kallis, etc.davidson himself said the same thing about wasim on espn legends of cricket.but davidson is surely not far behind.

  • @Indianmasterify Ive never had any issues with anyone from Pakistan, not a bad to say about them. Right from when i first started uploading on youtube the indians came out in force, the Pakistanis did not. Can only go by my own experience.....

  • @robelinda2 yes agree with Rob. most of the Indian cricket YouTuber's are here to praise our cricketers than to enjoy the great cricket achieve

  • Top video! And great times.

Everything is the way it ought to be - the ball swinging for Davo, umbrella field, men playing in whites and women knitting with their heads down (01:35).

  • Rob-Where the heck did you get 50's footage....and of very good quality!!!! Davidson comes across as very perceptive no non-sense analyst and commentator. His action is easily one of the best left-arm, side-on of all time....such loping, effortless strides and very quick delivery stride....beautiful!

  • @Voltairec The whole series was available here on dvd for a short while a few years ago.

  • a 1950's wasim akram, swung the ball both ways, more then handy with the bat. I know I'll probably cop abuse for this comment, but Akram was the best left arm quick bowler since Davidson IMO

  • @metalandcricket Pakistanis are usually good with those comments, its the Indians who can't accept any player being better than any Indian! Davidson was a genius.

  • @robelinda2 As an Indian I'll happily say Wasim Akram and Glenn Mcgrath were the two best bowlers I've seen bowl in my life. Now let's see a Pakistani call Sachin the best batsman ever.
