i heard that there was once a time when he had a motocycle accident and his nose broke. I read in Wikipedia that his nose broke three times. Might be the reason why it's not straight if you look well his pictures. And then he almost died by another motocycle accident on a christmas day while watching his girlfriend's eyes behind his back.
Boy! this guy sure cannot always be prudent.
But after all these accidents, he's one of the most gorgeous actor i've ever seen.
i loved this movie so much. it just felt like i was on a random relaxing road trip. no real idea of what was gonna happen, just trekking on and taking it in.

Yes, I agree with paperflower, but imagine if a Bollywood movie were made on a journey to the rockies, but shot entirely in Florida's swampy environment! Just for fivewerehigh, the Darjeeling mountain railway is an 80 mile long narrow gauge (two foot gauge) line, with a steam service. A broad gauge train, running on 5'6" track (as shown in the film) just cannot go to Darjeeling! The geographical inaccuracies are an unpardonable lack of attention to detail, in an otherwise good film.

What I cannot stomach is that the movie is called Darjeling limited and is shot in Jodhpur. Americans are really geography challenged!Take a look at a map, yankees!
This scene, three guys on a motorcycle, is a nice reminiscence to the wonderful hindi-movie "Swades" starring Bollywood-God ShahRukh Khan. Definetely worth watching as well.
Darjeeling Limited is an unique masterpiece and Wes Anderson is more than a genius.
I totally agree. I think his performance was really great. I think his character is the most important actually because he's the one that drags his brothers to India after having a brush with death. He's the one that pulls them together.
I was laughing throughout the whole thing, it was such a great film , in some parts it was funny in a sarcastic subtle way and i loved it! Whoever told me to amke sure i watch it thanks :DD
My Favorite of Anderson's Yet. I liked it so much I went and saw it Twice in the theatre. I think the Darjeeling really shows us another side of Wes, He goes a bit deeper in this one in character and detail.
i think that you dont really learn much about the characters in the movie, and i think that this is a good thing because you have to think for yourself
i saw the movie and even though i was disappointed with how much substance is shown behind the characters, the way it is shot makes it a cinematic treat.
I know, I feel the same way. I saw this movie last night...it's definitely different from anything I've seen before, it's funny too, but I was expecting more than that.
I've now seen the movie twice and have to say: it's one of Anderson's most clever films in terms of framing. There's at least one (if not two) false starts and an accompanying false ending. I also believe that he pokes fun at the formulaic part of most films these days where we "check in" with all of the characters to see where they are at the end of the journey. Anderson shows us characters we haven't met (Natalie Portman's character) and even the tiger in the woods. Pure genuis.
i've also seen the movie twice and i want to see it again! there's just something about it that i cant seem to get out of my head. i agree entirely with your poking fun at modern films point.

why does it matter? a fair amount of movies made today are shot in backlots in california.
paperflower091 3 years ago 3
The Darjeeling Limited is the name of the train. Which probably goes to Darjeeling, but doesn't stay there all the time, because it's a train.

A word that only women use--apparently regardless of content nor context. It seems like it's done out of compulsion.
The older and uglier/manlike the female is, the higher the frequency it is dropped in.
