@footcandy Mike Einziger is more of a phaser hound... nice slow phasing. Distortion is a little less muddy, but I don't know if you're going for an accurate reproduction or not.

when you're bending the double notes on the 11th fret, you should be bending it a whole step, it sounds like you're only bending it a half step. this can be achieved by barring the notes with your third finger.

First off, love that guitar.

2nd- mikey recording with bends cuz he uses light gauge strings, but when he plays live he uses heavy guage strings, try playing a set with light gauge strings and you find out how much you have to tune.

Actually I think it's the just the combination of the phaser sound and the speed of your bending. the video shows that youre obviously bending enough but it sounds like you do it a bit quicker than mike so you dont really hear it as much. but its no big deal anyways

Yes. The intro is played on the 9th fret sliding to the 11th fret and bending it up a whole step. Since it's freakin' hard as shit to do I just lightly hammer on and pull off; then slide to the 6th fret. Try it.

Yes, it's a Paul Reed Smith hollowbody. Mike used PRS Archtops and Hollowbodies. he needs to go back to using PRS guitars again.

Definitely, you can always get the HB Spruce which is a lot cheaper. The three different models (Spruce, I and II) really sound very similar. Get one that fits your wallet.

Actually, all they're all different birds down the neck, the eagle is at the 12th fret. I had owned my first PRS for a while before I realised that they weren't the same bird. lol!

Looks like a CE or 513 by PRS. But the definite giveaway is the "Birds in Flight" inlays. I love PRS. Just boght an SE Singlecut and it sounds amazing, even for a cheaper, Korean-made PRS.

the only reason mike bends that song is because he had super light strings on his guitar for that song during the recording process but if you ever see them live you can tell a huge difference

it's nearly impossible to bend them hard like that with heavy gauge strings

i think hes not actually playing..look at 2:34 where he messes up the right chord then switches to the correct one....if you listen to only the audio the chords are perfect..it shoulda sounded like he switched chord real fast...ive been playing for 20 years i know. and i know this song

If you'd been playing for so long, you'd realise that it was the same A chord I was playing. One at the 5th fret and then it moves to the open A. That's why it sounds correct. I'm sorry that after your 20 years of playing you haven't figured out how to correct mistakes on the fly.
