texturizing isn't to make hair curly, it is to loosen the curl that is in the hair but not bone straight (which is the intent of other relaxers) so that it retains some of the elasticity that natural hair has. any relaxer can be a texturizer depending on the time and the work through process. professional hair stylists don't texturize in order to produce a curly look, they do so to produce a straight look that is not "bone straight" but straight with body. case of actual definition versus slang.

He interchanges the terms texturizer & relaxer in this series of videos & it's very confusing. However, I believe that this is indeed a relaxer, as a texturizer would leave the hair with a loosened curly look & not this straight.

Ladies, when you sit down in that chair, please make sure your stylist knows EXACTLY what you want & what they are doing. If necessary, get them to talk through EXACTLY what they will do & what they will use...BEFOREHAND!! Then you have power if they don't deliver!!

Um a texturizer doesn't necessarily make the hair curly it just relaxes the curl. Of course her hair would be straight if he's flat ironing it. I'm natural but I think her hair looks really good.

i think by texturizing he meant the made up word "Texlax" as in not curly but not straight, kind of under process. Relaxing your hair bone straight can leave your hair body less & flat. By under processing it a lil, you can have some fullness & texture.

Let's see. Her hair was fried, dyed and laid over to the side. He did a great job. I've been getting my hair relaxed for over forty years and I have never seen anyone moisturize the scalp prior to relaxing.

@ekocentric because you not suppose to apply any thing to the scalp 24 to 36 hours after relaxing or texturizing.... it will cause a chemical reaction... anything with petrolatum in it will cause the scalp to be irritant

@sissisosso When you texturize the hair, it just loosens the curl. The finished look isn't supposed to be curly. It's supposed to be straight. You'll see the curls after you wash it.
