I'm not exactly sure how you do it internally BUT if you plug in a cable that goes from Channel 1's High Gain input to Channel 2's Low Gain and plug into Channel 2's High Gain with your guitar.
You also need to turn up Channel 1's volume to overdrive Channel 2. It basically makes a hotter sound with more edge and sustain.

I just picked up a 1970 YBA-1. how do you jump both channels? I was told the sound gets even better if you jump both channels.
