Napoleon had about 575,000 690,000 men with him when he crossed the river Nemand and headed towards Moscow, a good del of them never saw battle because they was not meant to go any longer... When napoleon came out of Russia he had 40 000 with him, 20 000 who was struggeling who came even longer back and the last one to leave Russia was Marshal Ney with his 900 last soldiers...
