How can he talk about the stubbornness of the Tea Party when the Democrats were just as staunch in their position. The Dems complain that Tea Party reps are playing politics, can't the same be said for them? And if I recall correctly, the "politics" that the Tea Party are playing to are the millions of voters who voted them in last November who are tired of this government.
@jprakstad "when the Democrats were just as staunch in their position" -- what position? The Democratic position was compromised on day one. You really have to understand that one, because it's important to any kind of sensible debate, here. Democrats immediately said, "OK, there are going to have to be some cuts we're not going to like." Then when Republicans said no, they came back with deeper cuts and lower revenue increases. Still no. Not compromise, just no.
@jprakstad (continued) The entirety of the debate amounted to haggling, only the haggling was something like, "I'll give you $20." "No." "OK, $40." "No." The problem is that there wasn't an acceptable answer. The only answer Republicans were floating was, "we'll agree that you give us plenty now and then we'll set the clock so that you'll give us plenty right before the next election." That's not a position, that's extortion.
The reason we are in this mess at all is that the big deals like Kerry want to buy one group off with another groups money. This man having been on the leading edge of big government for 30 years and never having had to run a business has no credibility on this matter whatsoever! Economic uncertainty is coming from the dimwit in chief BO and you sir are a national disgrace -forget embarrassment!
"They (Repubs) know they don't have a enough votes... they'll push it anyway... send a dramatic stupid message of incompetence to the world and drag the USA down with it. It's stunning what a group of extremists can do, who are trying to get their unrealistic and impossible budget passed..." -John Kerry... Where the heck was this John Kerry when you ran for Pres? Honest, straight forward talk. A LOT better than the ridiculous sound bites and talking points you all usually drag around.
@JCaesar11 Having taken speech classes in college I disagree with you, he is an inspiring person to listen to , he inspires us, however, he is a quiet man, therefore; not heard above the others..
this video should have been edited without corker at the end.

Such a shame that this man didn't win in 2004, he may not be the most inspiring but he's articulate, intelligent, considerate and reflective.
