  • i know nothing about this kind of music. Except for like Mozart and all that obvious stuff. The imperial march from star wars kind of sounds like the part at 1:24

  • speechless...

  • the brass section is balling in this piece

  • who the fuck would dislike this!?!?!?!?!?!???!!

  • This was first song I did heard from CD ! xD

  • Why can't music still be like this?--with grace, beauty and innocence. Music in this era is so in-your-face and obvious. No element of mystery whatsoever.Sigh...

  • @jenniferrose43 There are music for all occasions and feelings/moods mah boi!

Why not just enjoy it all for what it is, instead of trying to be the obvious hipster indie guy who craps on anything mainstream, popular or modern?

  • @fonarte I am actually a woman and don't appreciate being judged incorrectly, because I in fact listen to all genres of music..even obnoxious modern music.

    Douche.

  • 24 aliens live here on Earth.

  • @PeaEffect

No way man. Aliens would love this too. If aliens come here we should play this for them. Unless they're hostile; then we send in Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum.

  • ♫♪ ♫ ♫ ♩ ♬ ♭ ♮ ♯♪ ♫ ♩ ♬ ♭ ♮ ♯♪ ♫ ♩ ♬ ♭ ♮ ♯♪ ♫ ♩ ♬ ♭ ♮ ♯ great melody! :)

  • went to see swan lake in mnchester 2 weeks ago. omg it was a spiritual experience. i was in tears and im a normal bloke

  • I've always had trouble pronouncing his name correctly, so I looked it up and here it is:

    PYO-tur e-leech chai-KOFF-skee

  • what beautiful Music

  • Comment removed

  • Anybody heard The Agonist's rendition of this? They're both so beautiful in their own way

  • It almost sounds like 1:02 - 1:28 inspired John Williams' "Imperial March" for Empire Strikes Back.

  • Very nice how you numbered these for easy access

  • Beautiful music :) I'm more used to Death metal, Melo-death etc. But who can deny this wonderful piece of art? I could die listening to this music :D

  • The perfect mix of beauty and horror.

  • Always brings to mind the 1930's Universal horror flix.

  • It's so Beautiful that I can cry

  • @gunznstuff50 listening to so many stories makes me envy my parents generation honestly and them retelling the active that went on makes me risk that I was born in the 60's or even the 70's

  • I adore it!!!! I cant spend a day without listening to this composition :)

  • For me Tchaikovsky is the best musician.

  • always reminds me of dracula.

  • i watched swan lake in st. petersburg when i was 4, and i still remember shivers down my spine and fascination with this music. what a masterpiece!

  • i love all his work!!!

  • Love it!!!

  • At 0:01 i heard something great, it continued all the way on

  • Wow I detect a part from Harry Potter's theme ... They are bastards xDDDDD

  • Tchaikovsky was a genius !

  • Ive always got shivers when I listen this.

  • @breakfastattiffanysr I agree with you. I feel the same too. I feel like this is the best definition of Melancholy. I associate Tchaikovsky with Dvorak. They have such similar taste and traits in music composition. I adore them.

  • God this sounds like HP in the beginning

  • @Luckyduckgal haha, cheap!

  • Some people like Lady GaGa, Lil Wayne, etc

I prefer Wagner, Chopin, Tcaikovsky, Grieg, and Beethoven.

  • Okay I'm not gonna lie. I totally forgot about this song until i was looking through some DVD's and found a barbie movie called Swan Lake and i watched it. The music really moved me within the movie. Tchaikovsky is a genious

  • @ikamorinerd Hahahah I used to love that movie!

  • Love!

  • müzik budur.. haklıyım beyler dağılın..

  • omg,it's amazing music.....

  • i wish it were in 1080p

  • Oh sweet Tchaikovsky <3

  • i came here from the video Des hommes et des dieux :)

  • This piece flows like a flowing river flowing through the mists of time.

  • @dork0616 ohhhh thanks

  • i know this question is retarded byt did Tchaikovsky write the music or choreograph the ballet or both?

  • @shebootles77 i think he wrote for the ballet.

  • @shebootles77 Tchaikovsky wrote the music. Most productions are based on the choreography of Petipa.

  • amazing !! the best

  • genius

  • сердцу плачет

  • I don't need red bull to give me wings, Tchaikovsky's got that covered :)

  • :D the music is not ''classical'' this era was the romantic era- it shows emotion, drama, feeling.

  • it's called classical music because it is "a creation of the highest excellence" that's why these kinds of music will live on even to the times of advanced technology and such.

  • I got goosebumps listening to this :3

  • Can't believe harry potter music was such a flagrant rip

  • I hope people realize that we still have composers who don't write pop music. It's not as if all we have is the classical music of the past.

  • rien à dire, ça relève du divin !! <3 <3 <3

  • que belo essa musica me hipnotiza

  • Stop saying bullshit, listen to the music.

  • @hpavin53- Master composers of this century are easily Hans Zimmer and Tan Dun. :)

  • One of the best pieces of music from the 18th century. We fool ourselves in this present day of pop culture and disposible music to think that we are making advances in music, when in fact we are in decline and soon the true masters will only be remembered as a footnote in obscure library books. Sad! Who are the master composers in this century, Lennon and McCartney?

  • @hpavin53 Music died in the 2000s. I stayed until the 90s and some at the begining of the 2000s. I hate todays music. :|

I wish I was born in the 50s so I could have enjoyed the 60s.

  • @PUPUCIENTO What a stupid sentiment. You wish you were born in the 50's? You wish you were old? You dont appreciate your own youth? Hey, I have news for you, you don't have to have been born in a certain era to appreciate the music. Based on your comment however, you must not actually appreciate the music or you would have realized this yourself. You need to conform, otherwise you would be perfectly content to listen to 60's music today.

  • @gunznstuff50 I think your reading skills have failed you. Of course, dumbass, I appreciate music. I dont really know how to explain it; your lack of tact is astonishing. I dont even know where do you get that I dont enjoy it. Now, that is stupid.

Lol, I dont really care about youth. I actually know that I act a bit older than my physical age.

  • @PUPUCIENTO This means that a couple of years before you die, you will start playing dead?

  • @gunznstuff50 No one has to do anything. Especially about such trivial issues. Do people do this for sake of argument? Stop telling others what do do and just observe and live life. Make an impact in a greater way than spitting out your personal opinions, sprinkled with insults, if feeling so strongly of it. Pompousness and claiming to know something doesn't prove anything. I would say, you came here to listen to beautiful music, so just do it and learn it's geometry and balance.

  • I hate to agree but it is a shame how music has regressed so. The peak of the human musical arts has long since passed.

  • @yoshjones We have some butthurt talking shit to us for liking these kind of music better.

  • I LOVE THIS !!!!!

  • I loved listening to this on the Final Fantasy I&II: Dawn of Souls music room (Titled there "Temptation of the Princess"). It was only when Swan Lake came up on my Pandora station that I realized what it was. The fact that Nobuo Uematsu used this in the second Final Fantasy shows why he made such excellent music for the series: He was inspired by excellent composers like Tchaikovsky!

It's too bad Uematsu is not making the music for Final Fantasy anymore. Another way they are losing quality...

  • I am listening to this with a blank expression on my face now...

  • 1:01 I had to turn the volume down.

  • It's like..theres a twist of harry potter..

  • @xXPretina456Xx

I believe you mean Harry Potter has a twist of this

  • @jordanb2432 Ha yeah, Williams is a master of sly plagiarism

  • Comment removed

  • @jordanb2432 Can you at least say why?????????? Those two works are very different.

  • I'm a trombonist and I'm playing this in my high school advanced orchestra. the piece just sends shivers down my spine (also, i love my part @2:00)

  • sends chills down my back!

  • I came here because of Dracula :D

  • I do listen Lady Gaga. I do listen Nirvana, 30STM, Christina Aguilera and Sibelius, Brahms, Tchaikovsky as well. So what? I disagree with people who think that person can only like music of one category. Everything is getting mixed up these days! So why not change the roles of music and reform them. Open your mind and forget preconceptions. Listen every song like you were never heard music before. Trust me, you may find something new you like. And if you don't, it's okay. Trying it won't hurt.

  • @mannafromspace To hell with that. Main stream music is directly lethal for our European culture. It has been taken over by Hollywood and black culture. I would urge all Europeans to stay away from it.

  • @Dorkus89Malorkus Lol. You're funny.

  • @mannafromspace I agree, but i still hate Bieber.

  • @mannafromspace yeah but let me tell you something those who you just mentioned THEY ARE ARTISTS that make or made music to explain to the world what they are and not how "Cool" they can be....

  • @mannafromspace If I listen to Lady Gaga, I'll get herpes.

  • @mannafromspace you obviously haven't tried bieber

  • @mannafromspace I also love Lady Gaga,Nirvana etc and even raggae :). But i also love Tchaikovsky,Vivaldi,Beethoven,Mozart,Strauss . :). I also listen to Pavarotti,Sarah Brithman etc . So ,if it is a genre of music i like,it doesn't mean that i have to listen to just one kind of genre :)

  • @mannafromspace Love the way you think I subscribe to this theory !!!

  • @mannafromspace It's ok to be openminded but... Oh, God! Lady Gaga, really?! I think it's impossible to appreciate both her and classical music, simply because she's not a real artist :)

  • @mannafromspace I know! its really scary with my brother though. one minute he will be listening to really pretty soft music and the next its heavy metal and rap...

  • i have to laugh at all the people who think they are special because they listen to this kind of music, and make stupid comments about bieber or what ever. ever think you like it because its amazing music????

  • How the f can u dislike this???? I am sure u are BIG fan of Lady Gaga

  • love song, love the musical talent, What a sad, deep song!

  • Pure beauty. Filled with such emotion best piece ever.

  • masterpiece..

  • Awesome!

  • Damn,Justin Has Nuthin To Do Wit This.Lay Off Of Him For A Second. Love Him Too But Lets Focus On One Thing At A Time Please Lol WOw THouh

  • i could just fall asleep but then i wouldnt hear the music and thatd make me sad but its just so. so. calming and beautiful..

  • The beginning reminds me of a harry potter score, anyone agree???

  • @AshleyNawmsayin sure it was also used in the old Dracula movie, and lots of other movies as theme song :)

  • @AshleyNawmsayin this song was around long before harry potter!!! (although i do like hp)

  • @AshleyNawmsayin yeah right !

  • @Yulaw1811 yeah right as in yes or sarcasm?

I believe whoever created the movies score looked at this for inspiration.

  • @AshleyNawmsayin i mean yes, i agree with u dude :)

  • @Yulaw1811 Oh lol C: okay

  • what i don't understand is, if no one cares about Justin Bieber on a Tchaikovsky video, why is someone mentioning it and why are a whole bunch of people thumbing it up? sounds like you all are advertising for Bieber. any press for musical artists is good press. tools.

  • Frickin twenty seconds of the last scene of 'Billy Elliot' made me search for this and goddamn O.O Fucking unbeliavable, I'm definitely one step closer to liking classical music

    Your average classic/psychedelic/prog rock fan

  • Fuck Yeah!!! Get some classical up in this party!!!!!

  • I love Tchaikovsky and Justin Bieber, they're both geniuses in a different way. Accept that!

  • @Salmaalnajjar77 good troll,good troll ;)

  • @Salmaalnajjar77

first of all, its genii if you are talking about more than one genius.

second of all, justin beiber is not a genius - example 1 out of an unlimited amount, he cant understand the word 'Germany', or knows that it is a country - the more accurate way to describe beiber is the biggest plague ever known to mankind.

you need to reevaluate your priorities....

  • this song is beautiful <3

  • Ok, what's with all these Justin Bieber jokes I've been seeing in all Tchaikovsky videos lately? I have literally seen at least one comment making a joke about Bieber in every Tchaikovsky video I've watched for the last four days. Am I missing something?

  • @FoxLady2 -.- it's been a trend ever since said kid became popular. you can go to Almost any music related video on YouTube and see AT LEAST one comment about it. posts on classical videos are the worst, because those who comment have a tendency to believe that music such as this is the only 'true' music.. and they don't know when to let go and stfu about it. i mean really; it's been like 3 years...

  • as close to perfection as possible..... merci Pyotr.....

  • One of the greatest classical pieces to one of the greatest horror movies.

  • chills up my spinee...

  • hi love it

  • love this!! I'm gonna do a figure skating routine to this one day:)

  • 21 people had an orgasm while listening and pushed the wrong button.

  • You just cant beat smoking white whidow and listening to Tchaikovsky!

  • @TheAmero666 Growing up beats it

  • @endgamevirtuoso I am retired thank you very much

  • @endgamevirtuoso Nothing beats Grown ups blazing to Tchaikovsky

  • I'm fucking sick of reading about Justin Beiber on every video which is, ironically, not a Bieber video.

  • @jake180289 justin beiber should cover tchaikovsky haha

  • @koryfknbrine Who is justin beiber?

  • @jake180289

    im sick of dingos

  • @jake180289 And now the irony has come back to fuck you in the ass.

  • Tchaikovsky is IMMORTAL!!! :)

  • GOOSEBUMPS- EVERYWHERE!

  • the beginning of Dracula(1931). Gotta love it.

  • ...

  • Words cannot describe how much I love Tchaikovsky <3

  • Best piece of music ever made.

  • @jannsse I agree, but to an extent. I think the best pieceS of music ever made (comparison can be made) are: This,Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto #1, Grieg's Piano Concerto, Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto #2, Albinoni's Adagio, Smetana's Vltava river music, Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody #2 and Shostakovich's Waltz #2.

  • Bela Lugosi

  • Youtube definitely needs to wordfilter Justin Bieber

  • so blöd die Kommentare, setzen 6

  • dude, whoa...

  • Youtube definitely needs to change its format so that you can easily find the comment which people reply to thumbs up if you agree

  • How does one pronounce his name?

  • @Dolciximma I think it's chai-cough-skee :)

  • @xxstarryyxx It's chai-KOV-SKI. No "gh", it's V (hard as possible) and no long "ee".

  • @vboxeca oh yeah that makes more sense :DDD thanks! c:

  • @Dolciximma Peter I-lich Chai-kolv-ski :)

Thats how i remeber it anyway.... :)

  • 2:30 gives me shivers and goose bumps more than anything in the world. plus some guy-tears :/

  • this is so perfect and powerful 2:32

  • The swan was different, as Tchaikovsky was different ,,,

  • I'm a Jax Mainer and I approve this.

  • i'm from holland , and so glad that i watched tv yesterday.

im not in to the music from now a days but i listen to oldskool hip hop , rock jazz everyting except this style of music becaus i thaught it wasn't fun .

but a program was on tv where they played the music and at the same time told the stories behind it i couldn't believe it , my hole body was shaking it was one of the best feelings i ever had , now im like tottaly in to this music style it's unbelieveble im online 18 yeard old

  • There's just some provoking mystery behind music like this. You can picture yourself in a million different scenarios when you close your eyes and listen to a masterpiece like this. Certainly nothing you can do with any mainstream song you hear on the radio.

  • i never drink... wine

  • Magnífica!
