This is so funny in the beginning because classical pianist do hold their heads back, and shake it "no" to some slower pieces for showmen ship. Sometimes I find it really hilarious. But this is a funny and fun video, and made it my feature just for tomorrow since it's my B'Day too...lol
I h8 being another year older, but then again, what's the alternative, right? lol
This is just an almost an exact copy of Victor Borges happy birthday variations from very early time.. this clip is from 1951.. do a search for Victor borger and happy birthday.
@adamgadk I am a fan of Victor Borge, and have seen most of his work, including the 1951 Happy Birthday bit. Nicole Pesce, may have been inspired for doing the Happy Birthday by Victor, but I never saw Victor lay back, upside down, with head under the keyboard, whily playing Mozart. If you have a link to that clip, please post it here. For more sampling of Nicole's talent and creativity, check out her "Flight of the Bumblebee" Thanks, Ron
@callron1 Copy cat! Didn't care about how virtuoso she was... there are many out there! If you want to be a comedian, you have to be original. And please, don't compare her to the legend Victor Borge, even if she was trying to be him... at least choose another tune rather than "Happy Birthdy"!
@adamgadk no it's not. She was inspired by the idea, but picked entirely different pieces of music to parody. I, too, am a big fan of Victor Borge, but she freshened it up. The Chopin and Bach pieces are entirely different than what Victor Borge did. Even the Moonlight Sonata piece is different in her interpretation.
do you think we can find sheets somewhere? I love it!!! it's so fancy and original. If someone knows where to get sheets or can do them by ear, please let me know >,>

wonderful improvisation.
however I think the bach 'variation' wasnt very good.
I don't think bach will be so aggressive. It was close to romantic/chopin.
But bravo anyway. bravo.

@FlyingBlackAndWhite I agree. I thought it sounded more beethoven/chopin-ish than Bach.

Actually, if you listen to victor's stuff, her variations are slightly different. She just uses victor's ideas as a starting point.

Creativity ? Humour ? She is just copying Victor Borge !!!!!
