If they got an ill comment or tear you down is because their either threatened or haven't ridden in one. Yeah, it isnt pretty - we know. That isn't the point. The turbo has more getup, unstuckability and versatility than a swiss army knife. You've done a nice job with your subie and I'm glad to see I'm not the only one out there having fun in one.
True, it'll never be competitive in the class I'd have to run in with my mod list. Good news is I don't care. It's a DD that will STOMP a lot of unsuspecting imports & domestics across the board. Not the fastest thing out there for sure, but she's unique & a blast to own & drive. Peace. ;)
I have hauled 1000 pounds of pellets for my pellet stove on the coilovers with minor rubbing. I can raise the Baja up on them in the winter, & slam it in the summer. I've also hauled lumber, attachments for my tractor & filled the bed to the top with ice & sodas for a car meet. :)
jeezus got some haters khellen9. fuck em, awesome video and you bring up a great point on the diversity of the baja. I used to have one and traded it in for a STi. both are awesome cars and i wish i still had my baja. keep up the good work and fuck the h8ers, they pry drive there moms hand me down civics

LOL, I've never seen a truck try so hard to be a car in my life. Unique project, but it'll never be as fast as an equally funded car through autox or as fast as a proper truck off road, so what's the point?
Not everyone builds a project based on being #1 at any specific thing. It's a unique project that's great at many things....not just one. How many vehicles can go off roading in the morning, hit the autoX in the afternoon, and haul some lumber from the local hardware store on the way home? Personally, I love the baja and think Rob did a great job with it.
@khellen9 My point was that it's not great at anything besides being unique. It'll never be successful in autocross due to the class the mods put it in and you couldn't even think about hauling lumber or taking it off road due to the ridiculous lowered suspension. If it had a beefed up suspension with stock travel you would have a point about it being good at multiple tasks. Slamming it like that makes it nothing more than a wanna-be car.
@khellen9 amen . He hit the main point i bought one. yes its not a sports car , yes its not a truck , what the point????? I cant think of a car that can do EVERYTHING as well as this car . Its handles GOOD , It Brakes GOOD, It accells GOOD , The gas mileage is GOOD ,It puts 3 of your friends and all their gear in the back for a week trip camping with 3 kayaks , 3 mountain bikes ,and all the fixings GOOD, and sure as hell gets you through WI WINTER FROM HELL GOOD !!!!!!!!!!!!
@cardudeg35x You nailed the POINT already. It's unique. She's quicker than you'd think. In a straight line AND in the twisties. That was my first time ever on an autox track... Last minute invite... 4 year old BALD dunlop snow tires... & brand new coilovers that were thrown on without setting the pre-load lol. (One of the organizers of the event (A Corvette club actually) graciously agreed to drive the Baja for a lap. He said it was the most fun he's had on the track in years.
@cardudeg35x I owned this Baja model and OMG whats the point? I worked on the equiptment on the base of cell towers & I went down this really bad site road, which I didnt think it was much, It was very very muddy. I got up to cell tower & there was all these f350's & 3500's & here I am in this little strange looking truck 1 of the oil guys asked "How the hell did you get up here in that? he explained it took 30 mins in his f350 I responded it took me 10 mins He gasped ROFL! Thats the point.
@rsstrangetrip I have often thought maybe I wanted one of these when I see them in town or on a car lot. After seeing some videos of their performance I know I want one.
The point is so that on the way home from this autocross race, he can stomp on whatever car he wants to. He's just enjoying something he built. His time, his money, his car.
sir, your car is like what i wish my baja could be lol. Sadly its the ej251 and does not sound nearly as mean :( but damn i gotta say that thing is a beast!
@khellen9 ahh ok.. Last video I saw with with the full Xcceleration exhaust on the car. sounds dirty mean :). This car has inspired me to do the same to my Baja. Same color too :)
This is both the coolest and dumbest thing i've ever seen. The Baja is too big to autocross effectively lol.
