Don't Trust Your Hotel Room Safe

I knew about the code cause I tried it out the first time I was in a hotel with a safe. I could see there was no back up key lock, which if you ask me would be a better solution because the back up kays could be locked away somewhere else. But I set the code and tried all the 00s and it works. I actually tried every other number first before trying the 00s. If that didnt work i would have given up.

The guy did a great public service by calling out all the LAZY hotel managers who did not change the default passwords on ALL the safes in their hotel!!! It's a lot of work because there could be HUNDREDS of these safes in a hotel. I'll bet you all the high quality hotels will now change their passwords. At the best hotels, they will probably set a different password in each room. That way, the hotel maids and other staff will have no way to open a safe in a random room.

You are assuming hotel thiefs are using youtube? And, there is no default password for most of those safes-there is a PDA type things that is plugged into it to reset it. I have a "challenge" brand hotel safe, lockable from a passcode or a key, and this trick DOES NOT WORK
